In Episode 14 of the Stories Through The Camera podcast Chris chats with author and filmmaker Benjamin Gilmour about his new book The Gap and his latest feature film Jirga which has screened in film festivals all over the world and has won multiple awards including the Australian AACTA award for best independent film in 2018.The Gap is a memoir about Benjamin’s time working as a paramedic in Sydney during the Summer of 2007 and 2008. It’s an intense look at what happens when emergency services are called.Jirga is a film about an Australian soldier who returns to a village in Afghanistan to seek redemption for the killing of an unarmed man during a helicopter raid several years earlier.
