The Lion-Faced Guru Podcast is all about bringing Joy and Practicability back to Buddhism and the nondual path to Liberation in general.
In the 7th episode of the Lion-Faced Guru Podcast, Kim Rinpoche, Lama Karl and Acharya Ugi from the Pemako Buddhist lineage will talk about one of the essential aspects of dharmic practice: Bodhicitta, the aspiration to achieve Buddhahood for the liberation of all sentient beings. As simple and straightforward this aspect of Bodhicitta might seem, it's one of the topics so many practitioners of Dharma struggle with. And a quick look into Dharma literature reveals that this isn't due to a lack of explanation. The books are full of explanations regarding Bodhicitta. Yet, people have a hard time connecting their own experience to it which often leads to doubt, confusion and hesitation towards the Dharma and their practice thereof. In the following pragmatic discussion, we will address these difficulties from our own personal understanding that we've come to due to our own experiences and challenges with the aspect of Bodhicitta.
In the 6th episode, Kim Katami continues to interview Lama John Hoag on his extensive practice time with Dudjom Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Chatral Rinpoche and other highly realized masters like Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche. This provides a rare insight into how exactly these great masters have taught Tantric Buddhism and introduced people to the Nature of Mind. Lama John and Kim Katami also discuss the future of Vajrayana Buddhism and how the Tantric practices can and should be taught in a simple and direct way fitting to the Western mind. A highly important discussion that goes into many crucial aspects like the true (experiential) meaning of Tantra, constructive student-teacher relationships and the emphasis on practice.
In the 5th episode of the Lion-Faced Guru Podcast, Kim Katami interviews Lama John Hoag from the US about his in-depth experiences with Japanese Zen and how he eventually switched to Vajrayana Buddhism ending up studying with Dudjom Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and Chatral Rinpoche in Nepal. John and Kim also discuss the incomparable directness and simplicity of Tantric Guru Yoga comparted to the concentration-based approaches of Zen.
In the 4th episode of the Lion-Faced Guru Podcast, Kim Katami interviews Lama Lyse from New Zealand about her inspiring life, her spiritual path and her fascinating years with two of the greatest Nyingma/Dzogchen masters of our recent time: Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and Chatral Rinpoche. Lama Lyse is a longtime and close student of Dilgo Khyentse and Chatral Rinpoche. Both were great figures of the Nyingma-school of Tibetan Buddhism. She lived close to Dilgo Rinpoche for six years until his passing in 1991 and then continued her studies with Chatral Rinpoche which lasted another 28 years until his passing in 2015 including an eight-year retreat directly under his guidance. Lama Lyse trained in the Longchen Nyingtik tradition of the Nyingma Lineage but leans towards a wide view which encompasses Advaita and Dzogchen. Her teaching style is one that focusses on the great question, 'Who Am I?' and emphasises a sincere and dynamic form of practice which each student is invited to experience fully and authentically within the basic Dharma structure of prayers such as Refuge, Bodhicitta and Dedication. She also teaches from texts such as Patrul Rinpoche's Heart Treasure of the Enlightened Ones, and the Three Words that Strike the Vital Point in a free, simple and straightforward style. Lyse is originally from New Zealand but has lived in India and Nepal for 35 years. She has maintained a blog; Ever Here Now since 2013 and has written several books. ► More information on Lama Lyse, her work and her books, you'll find on her website: https://www.everherenow.com/ ► More information of Kim Katami and Pemako Buddhism, you'll find here: https://www.pemakobuddhism.com/

In this important episode, Kim Katami, Karl Eikrem and Ugi Mueller provide a deep insight into their own Awakening experiences and discuss the universal mechanics of nondual Awakening.
