— Many people today are exhausted—not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. We move through our days carrying stress, anxiety, old wounds, endless responsibilities, and the quiet feeling that somewhere along the way we lost touch with our vitality, our creativity, and perhaps even ourselves. But what if exhaustion is not simply a lack of energy? What if it is a signal inviting us to reconnect with something deeper—our passions, our intuition, our authentic nature, and the creative spirit that exists within each of us? Today, we'll explore what it truly means to love your life—not because everything is perfect, but because you have learned to embrace yourself fully, listen to your inner wisdom, and live in alignment with who you really are. We'll talk about emotional healing, resilience, creativity, intuition, and the surprising ways that self-expression can help us access parts of ourselves that words alone often cannot reach. We'll also explore how following our passions, trusting our hearts, and becoming more present to our inner experience can lead to greater vitality, purpose, and joy. At its core, this conversation is an invitation to move beyond merely surviving and begin thriving—to reconnect with the energy, creativity, and aliveness that have been within you all along. Hello! This is Episode 412. This is Way #12 of the 44 Ways to Create Your Sustainable Home series. We’re continuing through Section Three: Sustainable Services and Infrastructure. In Episode 411, we looked at where household water goes, especially in indoor use, and how to reduce consumption through fixture selection and design decisions. In this episode, we’re looking at the other side of that equation: not just using less water, but capturing and reusing the water that falls on and around your home. Way #12 is: Store and Reuse Water for Greater Water Saving. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/412] In this episode, I share information on rainwater harvesting, greywater systems, and what it looks like to meaningfully reduce, or in some cases almost eliminate, your home’s reliance on mains water for outdoor use. I’ll also share a little of my own experience with whole-of-home rainwater supply, as we’ve been living entirely on rainwater for over a decade now. Erin Brockovich (2000) (directed by Steven Soderbergh) is based on the true story of Erin Brockovich, a legal assistant without formal training, who uncovers one of the most significant environmental lawsuits in U.S. history: the case against Pacific Gas and Electric for contaminating groundwater in Hinkley, California. The film, which features an Oscar-winning performance by Julia Roberts in the title role, explores the role of lawsuits in exposing truth and gaining compensation for victims, the gendered dynamics of legal advocacy, and the challenges of taking on entrenched power structures in society.Timestamps:0:00 Introduction1:59 Who is Erin Brockovich?3:11 Obstacles to holding corporations accountable5:49 How Erin Brockovich overcomes those obstacles8:10 Imbalance of power and resources14:40 Hinkley, California18:00 Accessing records21:16 Tort reform, punitive damages, and proportionality27:10 States and environmental regulation32:22 Causation and attribution science37:30 Whistleblowers 41:17 Finding the “smoking gun”42:53 The practice of law and parentingFurther reading:Banks, Sedina “The ‘Erin Brockovich Effect': How Media Shapes Toxics Policy,” 26 Environs Env't L. Hello! This is Episode 411. This is Way #11 of the 44 Ways to Create Your Sustainable Home series. We’re continuing through Section Three: Sustainable Services and Infrastructure, and today we’re looking at water. In the last episode, we covered Way #10: reducing your energy use through your selections. In this episode, we’re looking at water efficiency. Where does water really get used in your home? What do the ratings mean in practice? And what decisions, beyond just choosing efficient fixtures, can actually make a difference? Way #11 is: Reduce Your Water Use In and Around Your Home. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/411] Water tends to receive less attention than energy in a sustainability brief. I think this is partly because the financial feedback is less immediate. Electricity bills arrive more regularly and can feel significant. Water bills are often quarterly, and in many areas they feel manageable, or are wrapped up with your council fees. But around 12% of Australia’s water use is in residential homes. Water is a finite resource, and under pressure in many locations around the world, and the decisions you make about how your home uses it can carry through for the life of the home. Interestingly, water efficiency can be one of the most straightforward areas to address, purely through specification. The ratings systems that exist for water-efficient fixtures are clear and accessible. The products are widely available. And in most cases, the cost difference between a high-efficiency and a standard fixture at specification stage is minimal, while the savings over time are significant. In this episode, I take you through where household water actually goes, what the rating systems mean in practice, the design decisions beyond fixture selection that can reduce water use, and why outdoor water use deserves its own conversation, which we’ll cover in the next episode. As always, if you'd like to access a full transcript of this episode and links to any resources I mention, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/411. Now, let's dive in! In our final regular episode before the summer break, we reflect on the Spiritual Gifts series and the tension it created within our church family. Why did this series feel both encouraging and challenging? What does it look like for Grace City to become a community that is activated in the power of the Holy Spirit while remaining grounded in love, wisdom, and healthy community? Then we discuss a practical framework for understanding spiritual power through four key elements: Authority, Gifting, Consecration, and Faith. Together, we explore how spiritual gifts fit into a larger picture of discipleship, why fasting and consecration still matter today, and how faith can shape the environment where God's power is displayed. Most importantly, we discuss how these practices draw us toward hearing God, walking in humility, and helping others. Whether you're still processing the series or wondering how to take your next step, this conversation will encourage you to pursue a deeper and more active life with the Holy Spirit.

Hello! This is Episode 410. This is Way #10 of the 44 Ways to Create Your Sustainable Home series. And with this episode, we also begin Section Three: Sustainable Services and Infrastructure. If you’ve been following the series from the start, you’ll know that Section One was about designing for climate and site: orientation, breezes, passive heating and cooling, and climate zone. Section Two was about sustainable design strategies: home size, your team, structural efficiency, accessibility, and indoor air quality. We’re beginning Section Three with Way #10: Reduce Your Energy Use Through Your Selections. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/410] In the first 9 episodes of the ‘44 Ways’ series, I’ve stepped you through some key decisions that will shape the sustainability of your new home or renovation before any system is installed in it. Section Three is where we look at the services and infrastructure inside your home. Think energy, water, hot water, and renewable supply. Interestingly, these areas are often where people start their sustainability conversations, as they can feel much more tangible than the project initiation and design decisions we’ve been discussing up to this point. They’re the actual systems that determine how your home runs day to day, how much it uses in resources, and what it costs to run. In this episode, I take you through where your home’s energy is actually being spent, how to approach appliance and system selection for efficiency, how to correctly size your mechanical heating and cooling systems, and the hierarchy that I think every homeowner should have in mind when making these decisions. What if the reason you can't access magic consistently has nothing to do with strategy, discipline, or desire - and everything to do with the frequency your body is broadcasting? In this special episode of Why Isn't Everyone Doing This?, Emily Fletcher kicks off a three-part series designed to help you get ready for Magic Maker, happening this July. This first episode tackles one of the most quietly frustrating experiences on the spiritual path: not whether magic is real, but why you can't seem to stay there. Emily explores why so many people who already believe in manifestation are still hitting invisible ceilings, and why the answer has less to do with your mindset and more to do with whether your head, heart, and body are sending a coherent signal to the quantum field. She grounds this in research from the HeartMath Institute, Einstein's foundational principle on consciousness, and her own five years of developing this body of work. This episode is for the people who have already tasted magic, and want to know how to live there - on demand. In this episode, Emily explores: What "magic" actually means, and why it has nothing to do with wishful thinking or pulling things out of thin air Why manifestation is not something you do, but a reflection of who you believe yourself to be How most people are accidentally sending mixed signals to the quantum field, even when their desires are crystal clear Einstein's principle: no problem can be solved at the same state of consciousness that created it The difference between paranoia and pronoia, and why we keep slipping back into protection mode Research from the HeartMath Institute on heart-brain coherence and the electromagnetic field of your heart Why you cannot tell your nervous system to calm down, and what to actually do instead How unprocessed emotion and inherited trauma create energetic static that blocks what you're calling in Key Moments: 00:00 — Welcome and what this bonus series is about 01:25 — What "magic" actually means 02:10 — How mixed signals to the quantum field work 03:20 — Manifestation as a report card on your state of consciousness 03:44 — Einstein and the problem of solving from the same frequency 05:15 — Who this series is for 06:32 — Heaven as a vibration, not a destination 10:39 — Why smart people get stuck in the same manifesting traps 12:45 — HeartMath Institute research on coherence 14:10 — The cosmic server analogy 15:32 — What Magic Maker will cover 17:28 — Preview of next week's bonus episode Something is building at Ziva. Hello! This is Episode 409. This is Way #9 of the 44 Ways to Create Your Sustainable Home series. This episode also closes out Section Two: Sustainable Design Strategies. In this episode, we’re finishing Section Two with Way #9. Way #9 is: Improve Your Indoor Air Quality. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/409] The ways I’ve been sharing in Section Two have been about the bigger-picture design decisions that need to be thought about early, but can create a huge amount of impact in your future home’s sustainability, functionality and performance. We’ve covered designing a smaller, smarter home, choosing an aligned team, creating an efficient structural design collaboratively, and future proofing your home with accessibility. I know that when most people think about sustainability, they’re thinking about energy, water, and materials, and how they can save all of those things. But a sustainable home is also a healthy home. And, given that we spend 80 to 90% of our time indoors, and especially since COVID, much of that time is now in our homes. The quality of indoor air that your renovation or new build creates will have a big impact on the health of all living in the home, and how the home functions for you long-term. Indoor air quality is directly impacted by decisions you make about the materials and finishes you include in your home, and the ventilation strategy you adopt. Those decisions are ideally made during design and specification. If indoor air quality is important to you, your goals for it belong in your Design Brief, right alongside other strategic design and specification decisions you want to prioritise in your project. In this episode, I take you through how indoor air quality is part of your sustainability considerations, the main sources of indoor air pollution in residential homes, how moisture and ventilation connect to this, and what you can actually do at the design and specification stage. In this episode of the HVAC School Podcast, host Bryan sits down with Lenny from Copeland to explore how one of the most respected names in HVAC and refrigeration is actively investing in the next generation of technicians. Lenny leads Copeland's aftermarket demand creation efforts, which includes everything from working with wholesale networks and trade shows to educational partnerships with schools and nonprofit organizations. The conversation covers a wide range of initiatives aimed not just at recruiting people into the trades, but at giving them the tools and confidence to thrive long-term in the industry. A major theme throughout the episode is Copeland's belief that workforce development is a shared responsibility across the entire industry chain — from manufacturers and parts suppliers to contractors and educators. Lenny describes how Copeland partners with organizations like SkillsUSA, Skills Canada, and the NC3 (National Coalition of Certification Centers) to provide hands-on training opportunities and industry certifications to students in trade and tech schools. Copeland sends trainers to these competitions with mobile refrigeration simulators, where students troubleshoot real-world fault scenarios and receive detailed feedback afterward — making it both a competitive and educational experience. The episode also dives deep into Copeland's Train-the-Trainer program, a cornerstone of their work with NC3 partner schools. Rather than simply handing schools a curriculum and walking away, Copeland brings educators through an intensive one-week program covering HVACR system fundamentals, troubleshooting, and compressor operation — complete with hands-on activities, refrigeration simulators, and even compressor teardowns. The goal is to ensure that instructors can confidently deliver accurate, field-relevant material to their students. Lenny emphasizes that Copeland intentionally avoids "death by PowerPoints," preferring interactive, application-based learning that mirrors what technicians actually encounter on the job. On the technology side, the conversation highlights the newly unified Copeland Mobile app, which now integrates White-Rodgers tools alongside the existing Copeland suite. Features like Check and Charge, PT Pro, and Fault Finder help technicians quickly diagnose system issues in the field, while the AI-powered Scout tool allows users to query Copeland-approved engineering bulletins and product data for fast, accurate answers. Lenny and Bryan discuss why this kind of tightly controlled, manufacturer-backed AI is genuinely valuable — cutting through information overload so a tech on a rooftop can get the right answer quickly. The episode wraps up with details on the HVACR Tech Appreciation Day sweepstakes happening April 1 through June 30, where Copeland is giving away approximately $3,000 worth of tools as a thank-you to technicians across the industry. Topics Covered Lenny's role at Copeland and the scope of their aftermarket and education work How Copeland approaches workforce development as an industry-wide responsibility Copeland's involvement with SkillsUSA and Skills Canada — booths, judges, and mobile refrigeration training simulators The NC3 (National Coalition of Certification Centers) partnership and how it connects trade schools to industry certifications Copeland's three-part curriculum: HVACR system fundamentals, troubleshooting, and compressor operation The Train-the-Trainer program — how Copeland educates educators to deliver consistent, field-ready instruction Hands-on learning philosophy: refrigeration trainers, scroll teardown kits, and compressor-in-a-suitcase tools available to schools Virtual reality scroll teardown in development to bring factory experiences to the classroom The newly integrated Copeland Mobile app — combining White-Rodgers and Copeland tools in one platform App features: Check and Charge, PT Pro (with altitude settings), Fault Finder, and the 30-year products catalog Scout — Copeland's AI tool that searches approved engineering bulletins and product data to answer field questions fast Why manufacturer-controlled AI is a practical and trustworthy resource for technicians The importance of retaining new technicians by giving them support systems so they aren't overwhelmed and don't wash out HVACR Tech Appreciation Day — June 22nd — and the sweepstakes giving away ~$3,000 in tools (vacuum pump, recovery unit, core removal tool, gauge sets) How to reach Copeland's Educational Services team: educationalservices.coldchain@copeland.com Accessing educator resources on Copeland's website and the Copeland Mobile app Copeland's Resources: Sweepstakes: Enter Copeland's HVACR Technician Appreciation Sweepstakes before June 30th, 2026 at hvacrschool.com/copelandsweepstakes. Hello! This is Episode 408. This is Way #8 of the 44 Ways to Create Your Sustainable Home series. We are in Section Two: Sustainable Design Strategies. The ways I include in this section are about the strategic design decisions that have consequences well beyond the immediate project, and Way #8 is a strong example of that. Way #8 is Future Proofing Your Design with Accessibility. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/408] I want to start by saying that the word ‘accessibility’ comes with a lot of connotations for some people, and it can immediately bring to mind images of hospital-grade handrails, institutional flooring, and design that feels clinical rather than inclusions you’ll happily consider for your future home. However, that is not what accessible design means, and it is not what this episode is about. What it is about is designing a home that works well for people, at every age and stage of life, without requiring expensive modification when circumstances change. And the design features that achieve that are, in most cases, simply good design that support the longevity, durability and ease of use of your home, whether you’re building new or renovating. In this episode, I take you through what accessible design actually means in a residential context, the case for including it from the brief stage, the specific features worth considering in your project, and how to approach it with your design team. What if the reason your creative process feels hard has nothing to do with your talent—and everything to do with how you're working against your design? Many people discover Human Design hoping it will unlock a secret formula for creativity, productivity, or effortless flow. But what if Human Design isn't here to eliminate resistance altogether? In this episode, Nicole explores one of the biggest misconceptions about creativity and alignment: the belief that being "in flow" means everything should feel easy. Nicole shares why creativity often requires discomfort, uncertainty, and the willingness to sit with resistance long enough for something meaningful to emerge. She explains how Human Design can support the creative process—not by magically removing challenges, but by helping you understand how you're naturally designed to access ideas, inspiration, and expression. You'll also learn how factors like your authority, environment, definition, and energetic makeup can influence the way creativity moves through you. Through practical examples and client stories, Nicole shows how small adjustments can create more ease, open new channels of inspiration, and help you work with yourself instead of against yourself. If you've ever wondered whether you're creative enough, productive enough, or cut out for the work you're being called to do, this episode offers a refreshing perspective. Listen now! Hello! This is Episode 407. This is Way #7 of the 44 Ways to Create Your Sustainable Home series, and we are continuing through Section Two: Sustainable Design Strategies. The ways in Section Two are about the bigger-picture decisions that shape a project from a strategic level, before we get into the detail of specific systems, materials, or construction. Way #7 is Creating an Efficient Structural Design, Collaboratively. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/407] In the last episode, we covered the importance of choosing an aligned team. This episode is about something that your aligned team needs to do together: create a structural design that is genuinely efficient. This Way #7 tends to surprise homeowners, because structural design often feels like something that happens in the background of a project and rarely gets discussed with the client directly. But the decisions made around your home’s structural design have direct consequences for cost, material use, durability and longevity, and consequently, the sustainability of your finished home. Whether those decisions are made in the most efficient way usually comes down to one thing: when and how your designer or architect and structural engineer collaborate and integrate their work. In this episode, I take you through what structural efficiency actually means, why it typically doesn’t happen by default, what collaborative structural design looks like in practice, and the questions worth raising with your own team. The chaos and intensity of old systems being challenged and breaking down is actually a good thing! It can be really tempting to fall into worry that you won't have enough and fear of the uncertain future, but there's something HUGE happening that's easy to miss. This breakdown is happening for a very specific reason at this very specific time. And if you have greater context and know what to look for, you have the opportunity to access mindblowing magic, massive growth, and the potential for a change in the very nature of who you are and what your experience of the reality can be. My name is Karen Cheong, and in this episode of Mastering Your World Through Frequencies we're talking about Finding and Accessing the Magic in this Breakdown. As always, I've created a Group Frequency Calibration (GFC) specifically for this episode, and it will help you start to release the distortions that keep you in the craziness rather than rising above it. Without releasing these distortions, you can totally miss out on all the brilliance and magic that's just beneath the surface of the turmoil. Hello! This is Episode 406. This is Way #6 of the 44 Ways to Create Your Sustainable Home series, and the second episode of Section Two: Sustainable Design Strategies. In Episode 405, we covered Way #5: Designing a Smaller, Smarter Home. The case for asking what is enough, and building to that rather than to the status quo that drives a bigger home with more in it. Way #6 is choose an aligned team. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/406] In this episode, we are covering something that will affect every single sustainability decision you make in your project, from the very first design conversation all the way through to the final stages of construction. Way #6 is choosing an aligned team. Teamwork really does make the dream work in any new build or renovation project. But in a project with sustainability goals, I find it can matter significantly. Because the building industry is not universally aligned with sustainability. Building codes and regulations set a minimum floor, and most projects simply meet that minimum. The professionals who go beyond it, who have made sustainable design and construction a genuine area of expertise and commitment, are still only a subset of the industry. And finding them, and knowing how to assess them, takes preparation and know-how so you can find the best fit. In this episode, I take you through why team alignment matters so much in a sustainable project, what alignment looks like in practice and how to recognise it, how to find aligned team members, the questions that can help you assess their genuine capability and commitment, and what to do if you are already working with a team whose priorities do not match yours. Being stuck in survival mode is to be a human being. Survival starts at birth, you have needs to be fulfilled or you won't survive. Survival equals attachment. A cosmic connection utilizing spiritual intelligence has absolutely NOTHING to do with survival. Accessing it and moving into love and nonattachment is a beautiful commitment to thriving. Holding on to what you fear losing, will keep you in survival and therefore anxious, numb or depressed. The spiritual connection is always available, yet humans do the same shit, different day or year. And we haven't evolved internally from survival mode. The attachment you feel to people, money, outcomes; it's not love. Took me years to move from understanding what love is not, to actually inhabiting the space of nonattachment. What happens when you choose to completely abandon a life of "quiet desperation" and trust the invisible, benevolent forces guiding your gut? In this returning-guest episode of the Miles to Zen podcast, host Shannon Miles Halliday sits down with men's intuition coach Doug Beitz Doug shares his deeply personal journey from witnessing his father's unfulfilled life to breaking the cycle himself. He reveals how he went from serving as a professional firefighter to building an 18-room tropical scuba dive resort in the middle of Micronesia—and later, making global headlines by successfully selling it via a viral worldwide raffle. This conversation dives deep into the practical biology of intuition, spiritual frameworks like the Gene Keys, and the sheer courage it takes to leap when the universe gives you green lights but shows you no road. Key Takeaways • Practical Tools to Train Your Gut Instincts Actionable advice on vocalizing desires to the universe, utilizing sleep intentions (writing notes under your pillow), and letting go of the need to control others. • The Biology of Intuition: Diet, Energy Clearing, and Pendulums How the acid-alkaline balance, Gene Keys, nature immersion, and biofeedback tools (like pendulums) literally alter your body's physical frequency to pick up intuitive signals. • Butterfly Signs & Real-World Synchronicities Doug and Shannon trade incredible, true stories of how paying attention to physical signs in the wild—like circling butterflies—averted near-disasters and confirmed massive life choices. Memorable Quotes "What's more scary for me... is me getting to 60 and saying two words: If only. If only I tried." — Doug Beitz "All of a sudden, the lights went green—and there wasn't just three lights, there were 75 green lights. But when I looked ahead, there was no road. Hello! This is Episode 405. This is the first episode of Section Two of the 44 Ways to Create a Sustainable Home series. Section One, which we completed in the last episode, covered the foundational climate and site strategies: orientation, breezes, passive heating and cooling, and climate zones. We are beginning Section Two with Way #5: Design a Smaller, Smarter Home. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/405] Section Two is called Sustainable Design Strategies. This section covers the bigger-picture design and process decisions that make a home more sustainable from a strategic planning and design level, before we get into the detail of specific systems and materials. Interestingly, these decisions can often be the most impactful for your home’s sustainability as well. In my experience, when homeowners are considering sustainability, they’re often thinking of inclusions, upgrades and enhancements to their project. And design-wise, it can be common to be considering how many rooms you want, how much you can get for your budget, and how much functionality you can cram into the home you’re envisaging. However, whether you’re building or renovating, a foundational choice in sustainability can be to simply create a home that has a smaller footprint. And to do this, your project can begin with asking the question: ‘what is enough home for us?’ In this episode, I share the data on what Australian and international homes look like in terms of size, I introduce the concept of sufficiency or ‘enoughness’ as an alternative to the more common conversation about efficiency and sustainability, I give you a practical framework for interrogating your brief before design begins, and I explain why building less can create compounding benefits across sustainability, budget, and quality. C.P., 2026 ONCA 333 and discuss how mental illness can properly factor into assessing witness reliability and credibility in criminal trials. The case involved allegations of sexual assault against a biological father and raised complex questions about a complainant who had a documented history of hallucinations, delusions, medication non-compliance, and street drug use during the period of the alleged offences. The Court of Appeal was asked to determine whether the trial judge improperly relied on myths and stereotypes about mental illness when acquitting the accused. Joseph and Diana explain the critical legal distinction between credibility and reliability, why mental illness alone cannot be used to discount a witness's evidence, and when case-specific evidence of hallucinations, delusions, panic attacks, psychiatric symptoms, or medication issues may legitimately become relevant at trial. They also discuss third-party psychiatric records applications, the evidentiary foundation required to raise mental health issues in court, and why judges must carefully avoid discriminatory reasoning while still assessing reliability based on evidence. This episode provides valuable guidance for criminal lawyers, law students, and anyone interested in how Canadian courts balance fairness, mental health considerations, and the search for truth in the justice system. ### **Chapters** **00:00** Introduction to R. v. Hello! This is Episode 404. This is Way #4 in the ‘44 Ways to Create Your Sustainable Home’ series. It’s also the last episode of Section One, which takes you through Designing for Climate and Site. Over the past three episodes in this ‘44 Ways’ series, we have covered orientation, natural ventilation from breezes and protection from harsher winds, and how to design a home to naturally heat and cool itself through passive solar design principles. This Episode will help tie all of that together and give it a specific context for your project. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/404] None of the strategies I’ve discussed so far apply identically everywhere. What works best in a hot and humid tropical climate is different from what works in a cool, elevated climate. And so, the best way to understand which strategies apply most powerfully to where you are building or renovating is to know your climate zone. Because knowing your climate zone is what helps you understand how to utilise these design strategies in a climate responsive way, to make your home more sustainable, comfortable and functional overall. In this episode, I take you through what a climate zone is and why it matters so much, what the main climate types are and how they shape design priorities, how to find your climate zone, and how to use it as a filter when you are making design and specification decisions. Hello! This is Episode 403. This is Way #3 of the 44 Ways to Create Your Sustainable Home series. Over the last two episodes, we have discussed designing for your site’s orientation, and considering how your home is positioned to work with the movement of the sun and prevailing breezes, and how your home is designed to maximise natural ventilation, whilst protecting you from harsher wind events on your site. In this Episode, those two design considerations come together into something larger. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/403] This is where passive solar design becomes a whole-of-home strategy. Where orientation, breezes, shading, thermal mass, and the building envelope work, not as separate decisions, but as an integrated system, designed to keep your home comfortable across the seasons without relying on mechanical or artificial heating and cooling. From a sustainability point of view, understanding your home as a building system is incredibly powerful. And what I consistently find is that, when these principles are applied well, the result is a home that feels different the moment you walk into it, and where you can feel much better and more comfortable, day in and day out. In this episode, I take you through how passive heating and cooling actually works in practice, the role that thermal mass plays in stabilising temperature, how to approach these principles for different climate types, and when mechanical systems are still appropriate and how to approach them intentionally. Hello! This is Episode 402. This is Way #2 of the 44 Ways to Create Your Sustainable Home series. In Episode 401 we covered orientation, and understanding how the sun moves across your site and how positioning your home to work with that movement can transform its comfort, help it feel amazing to live in day-to-day, and reduce its energy use and requirements for artificial heating and cooling. In this Episode, we are covering another natural asset that is freely available on your site, and that’s breezes. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/402] Natural ventilation can be one of the most effective, lowest-cost strategies for keeping a home comfortable. And like orientation, it works best when it is designed in from the beginning, because the floor plan layout, window types, and building form all determine how well a home is able to ventilate naturally. In this episode, I’ll take you through why breezes matter so much for both comfort and sustainability, how to understand the specific wind patterns on your site, how to design your home to capture prevailing breezes, and how to protect it from the harsher wind events that may also occur. Pastor Rod Parsley and Ashton Blaire continue their deep dive into Pentecost, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the supernatural power available to every believer. From Acts 19 to the modern church, this conversation unpacks why so many Christians feel spiritually disconnected — and what it truly means to be filled with the Holy Spirit. In this episode, they tackle some of the most misunderstood topics in Christianity: speaking in tongues, hearing the voice of God, spiritual authority, conviction, worship, and the evidence of a Spirit-filled life. You'll discover why the Holy Spirit was never meant to be a doctrine to debate — but a power to experience. If you've been hungry for more of God, struggling to discern His voice, or wondering if there's “something more” beyond religion, this episode will reignite your faith and challenge you to plug back into Heaven's power source. New episodes of The Rod Parsley Podcast drop every Tuesday at 8 AM ET.

Hello! This is Episode 401. And we are beginning something on the podcast that I’m really looking forward to sharing with you, especially if you’re wanting to build or renovate in a more sustainable way, but feeling curious, confused or even overwhelmed about what that might mean. This is the first episode of a podcast series called ‘44 Ways to Create Your Sustainable Home’. It’s inspired by my free e-guide of the same name, but in this series here on the podcast, I want to take some time to dive into more detail, actions you can take and ways you can apply this in your new build or renovation project, wherever you’re located. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/401] And the first ‘way’ I’m kicking off with is, for me, what I believe is the single most impactful decision you will make for your home’s sustainability and comfort. In over 30 years in this industry designing residential homes, I believe this way is also available to every one and every project, but only if you know and think about it early and embed it into your project’s design from the start. It’s where I’ve always started my projects, it’s where I teach my HOME Method members to start their home design, whoever they’re working with, and its significance cannot be overstated in how much it can improve the sustainability, functionality, feel and performance of your home overall. We are talking about designing for your site’s orientation. This is about knowing how your existing or new home is or will be positioned on your site or block of land, and how its overall layout is designed to respond to the movement of the sun across your land. All so you can keep your home cool in Summer and warm in Winter, without it costing a fortune in energy bills and artificial heating and cooling, whilst feeling fantastic to be in. In this episode, I take you through what orientation actually means in practical terms, why it belongs at the very top of any sustainability strategy, how to think about the sun’s movement for your site, and how to apply these principles in your project, whether you’re building new or renovating an existing home. Email us at podcast@pursueGOD.org.Donate Now--The End of Gatekeepers: Understanding Priesthood in HebrewsFor many, especially those coming from a Latter-day Saint background, the word priesthood is synonymous with a ladder of authority—a series of offices, keys, and lineages required to act in God's name. In this view, the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthoods are essential roles that men must hold to administer ordinances and bridge the gap between God and man. However, a "crash course" in the Book of Hebrews reveals a radically different story. In the Bible, the priesthood isn't a ladder you climb to get more authority; it is the story of how God removed every ladder so you could finally walk directly into His presence. The Tabernacle: A "Keep Out" SignIn the Old Testament, the priesthood system served as much as a barrier as it did a bridge. The Tabernacle was designed in layers—the outer court, the Holy Place, and finally, the Most Holy Place. This innermost room, representing God's presence, was strictly restricted. Only the high priest could enter, and only once a year with a sacrifice. As Hebrews 9:8 explains, this system was designed to show that the way into the holiest place was not yet freely open. The Problem with the Aaronic SystemWhile many are taught that the Aaronic priesthood is a necessary office for today, Hebrews describes it as a "shadow system." Hebrews 7:18 goes as far as to call these Old Testament regulations "weak and useless" because they could never truly clear a person's conscience. They were a temporary fix that became obsolete the moment the true High Priest, Jesus, arrived. The Untransferable Priesthood of MelchizedekThe most significant point of tension lies in the Melchizedek priesthood. In the LDS tradition, this is a higher office given to many men. But Hebrews 7:24 says that Jesus holds His priesthood permanently because He lives forever. The Greek term used here implies that His priesthood is untransferable—it does not pass from one person to another. If Jesus' priesthood cannot be transferred, then no other man—past or present—can hold it. Jesus didn't come to restore a priesthood for men to hold; He came to be the Priest so that human mediators would no longer be necessary. The Veil is TornWhen Jesus finished His sacrifice on the cross, the massive curtain in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. This was God's "Emancipation Proclamation," signaling that the restricted zone is now open to everyone.Today, we don't need a human gatekeeper, a temple recommend, or a specific office to reach God. Because of Jesus, every believer is part of a "royal priesthood" (1 Peter 2:9). We are invited to come boldly to the throne of grace, not because of our own authority or a certificate, but because of the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Hello! This is Episode 400 - can you believe it? How exciting! And so I want to take the opportunity to celebrate a little, and share something a little different in this episode. Whilst we’ve done more than 400 actual episodes on the podcast, I do believe that hitting Episode 400 officially is a big milestone. That’s over four hundred conversations. Me talking directly to you. Me talking with homeowners at every stage of every kind of project. Talking with architects and designers and builders and specialist consultants and industry professionals of every description. So today I'm not here to teach you a framework or walk you through a process or have a conversation highlighting a specific subject matter. I want to do something a bit different, which is share what I believe I’ve seen over those 400+ conversations, in the hope you find it super helpful, especially if you’re just starting out on your project journey. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/400] My experience as the architect behind Undercover Architect uniquely places me with a front row seat to far more projects and homeowners than being an architect working 1:1 with clients ever did. It’s enabled me to be involved in projects, in homeowners’ thoughts, hopes and fears at a scale I really never anticipated when I started Undercover Architect back in mid 2014. Being your secret ally in Undercover Architect means you share a lot more with me than when I was simply Amelia Lee, the architect working 1:1 with clients. Additionally, my involvement with builders, architects and designers both in Australia and across the world, and the networks I’ve built also with other industry professionals, suppliers and manufacturers, provides me with insights and an intimate understanding of what you, as a homeowner, are really contending with out there as you navigate your projects. The great, the good, the bad and the ugly. And so, with that in mind, I’d love you to consider this Episode the conversation I wish someone had with every homeowner before they started their journey of building or renovating. Step into the light of your own sovereignty and the authority of compassion. This guided Reiki journey helps you align your five minds—the Divine, Human, Heart, Gut, and Earth minds, to release old burdens and anchor a frequency of profound inner peace within the Circle of Life. Key Insights The Five Minds Alignment: When we align the Divine, Human, Heart, Gut, and Earth minds. This integration allows for "conscious choice" and a clear connection to your authentic intellect and intuition. The Authority of Compassion: Compassion is an active, spiritual authority. In this journey, it is used to envelop and dissolve old patterns, cords, and injuries to the spirit, allowing long-held burdens to be lifted and healed. Belonging in the Circle of Life: We often feel separate from our spiritual nature, but your human spirit and divine spirit are one nature. By connecting with the "Divine Animal Kingdom," we remember that we belong in our bodies and on this Earth. Peace Within Duality: While we live in a "realm of duality," the spark of creation within your soul remains untouched. Accessing this inner peace allows you to walk through daily life with clarity and the stability like the Tree of Life. People Also Ask (FAQ) What is "Inner Sovereignty" in Reiki? Inner sovereignty is the awakening of your own inner authority and truth. It is the state of being aligned with your soul's knowledge, allowing you to make decisions from a place of wholeness rather than being influenced by external attachments or old beliefs. How does Reiki help release "cords and attachments"? Reiki flows around energetic connectors to old patterns or limitations. This higher frequency gently lifts these burdens, carrying them into the light to be healed and released. Why is "Receiving" emphasized in this journey? Many people are conditioned to give but struggle to receive. This journey focuses on opening the heart to receive the wisdom of the Earth and Heavens, which helps to replenish the spirit and maintain balance.. Megan and Erin discussed the importance of utilizing PSAT results to identify areas for improvement and prepare for future standardized tests. They explain how to access and interpret PSAT scores, focusing on analyzing specific subject areas rather than just the overall score. Megan emphasizes the value of reviewing results early, particularly for high-achieving students who could potentially qualify for National Merit Scholarships. PSAT Results Review Discussion Megan and Erin discussed the importance of reviewing PSAT results and establishing a feedback loop beyond just taking the test. Megan explained that while schools provide digital access to results through College Board accounts, many students may not check them due to forgetting about the test or not understanding their relevance. They emphasized that even late in the school year, reviewing PSAT scores can provide benefits for students’ preparation. Accessing and Using PSAT Scores Megan explained how to access and use PSAT scores, starting with logging into the College Board account and potentially creating a new login if needed. She noted that students may need a code from their school counselor to match the test taken at school with the account. Megan emphasized the importance of noting login credentials, as they will be used for multiple years, including for AP coursework and college applications. She also mentioned that PSAT scores are similar to SAT scores and not the primary focus. PSAT Scoring System Explanation Megan explained the scoring system for the PSAT, noting that the perfect score has been reduced to 1520, down from 1600. She advised focusing on the detailed breakdown of performance across four categories in reading and four in math, particularly highlighting the math categories: algebra, advanced math (including quadratics and Algebra 2), data, and geometry. Megan used an example of a 9th grader’s PSAT results to illustrate how to analyze the breakdown of scores. Knowledge Maintenance and SAT Preparation Megan and Erin discussed challenges in maintaining knowledge across different subjects. Megan advised that reviewing lost concepts requires more effort than casual review, especially if a student was completely lost in a subject due to poor teaching or lack of engagement. Digital Test Feedback Limitations Megan discussed the limitations of current test results, noting that students no longer receive detailed feedback on missed questions as they did with paper exams. She explained that while digital tests provide basic information about content areas where students struggled, they lack the ability to review specific incorrect answers, which was previously helpful for understanding mistakes. Test Results Review Strategy Megan advised focusing on percentile rankings rather than numerical scores when reviewing test results, emphasizing that students should aim to be in the top half rather than the bottom. She suggested using test results as an early warning system to identify areas needing improvement, rather than waiting until junior year to address gaps in academic abilities. Megan also mentioned that students can focus their studying on specific weak areas once they receive their results, rather than trying to improve everything at once. PSAT Results and Scholarships Megan explained how to interpret PSAT results, particularly focusing on the selection index and its relevance to National Merit Scholarship qualifications. She noted that while 9th and 10th grade scores are valuable for identifying strong test-takers, only 11th grade PSAT scores count toward National Merit Scholarship consideration, with candidates typically needing to be in the top 3% of their state with a score around 220 or higher. Megan also mentioned that while prestigious universities may not offer significant incentives for National Merit scholars, many other colleges provide financial benefits to attract these students. Score Baseline Discussion Megan and Erin discussed the importance of using PSAT scores to establish a baseline for academic performance and determine study focus areas. Megan advised against taking the SAT unprepared to establish a baseline, as the PSAT serves this purpose effectively. Megan offers suggestions for students who don’t have access to the PSAT at school prior to 11th grade. PSAT Practice and Preparation Strategies Megan suggested using College Board’s online practice PSAT tests, which include automatic grading and detailed feedback to help students understand their mistakes and improve their performance. She emphasized the benefits of taking a preliminary PSAT, whether in 9th or 10th grade, to get familiar with the digital platform and identify areas for improvement. Megan encouraged anyone with questions about PSAT scores or National Merit to email the College Prep podcast team at collegeprepodcast(at)gmail.com.
