Today’s episode is a little different. Instead of technical information, I’m talking about cultivating JOY through knitting. The conversation revolves around a book I’ve been slowly reading called The Book of Joy.Please join the conversation about the podcast, knitting, meditation and The Book of Joy in my Ravelry Group!
Color affects everything. It affects the way we perceive things and the way we feel. It can lift up a mood or make us feel uncomfortable. It can make us stop in our tracks to take note of something, and it can make us feel calm. It is all around us, and yet, how often do we stop and pay attention to it? After today’s episode, I hope you’ll do just that. Make note of all the color schemes around you and find ways to pull them into your creative practice.
Today’s topic is one I think we always need reminders about… Gauge! If you want something to fit, you’ve got to understand it! Some links mentioned in the podcast:Needle Material Affects Gauge - blogpost from Alexis WinslowSwatching in the Round - blogpost by Andrea Rangel
In today’s episode, I talk about circular yokes! I answer lots of questions I received about colorwork, fit, and… what IS a circular yoke? Today’s episode was created in conjunction with the kick off of the Yokes Knit Along. You can join the Knit Along in my Ravelry Group HERE. You can also find a list links to all my circular yoke patterns below.Colorwork: Tensho Pullover (Artist) Studies in Ice Mended Pullover Skaftafell Shifting Tides Cardigan (Steeeks!!)Lace: Astrantia Pullover Blaer Union Station CardiganChildren: Puddle Studies Shifting Tides Kids (also steeked!!)
