That's 4 months…plenty of time to knit or crochet an adult-size sweater…or two! We have bundles for inspiration! Beginner sweaters are here. Adventurous Beginners to Advanced sweaters are here Crocheters! Your sweaters are here ANYONE can add sweaters to the bundles! There will be prizes - just post a picture of your lovely finished sweater in our FOs thread. Do you have some sweaters in progress? I've spun three 3-ply skeins. I received the new motor for my Dreaming Robots EEW 6.0 espinner so I am back in business. Snowflower: by Heidi Kirrmeier. Using Thirteen Mile Lamb and Wool for the main color and Brooklyn Tweed Tones for some of the contrasting colors. Knit about 6” of the body. Nanny Meier Tea Cozy: Inspired by Lily Pulitzer colors. Using Cascade 220 in hot pink and lime green. Finished first side. Santa's Laundry Line: by Eleonore von Castelmur. Using Lang Yarn Jawol fingering in red, green and cream and some left over fingering weight gray. Finished his jacket and first leg of his pants. Socks: Using Knitterly Things Vesper Sock Yarn in the colorway Sum-Sum-Summertime. Heels and toes will be Dream in Color Mini Smooshy in the colorway Bermuda Teal. Kelly's Projects Still working on the baby blanket using the best parts of my mom's acrylic leftovers. Fleeces washed:  The fleece portion in the suint bath came out after about two weeks. The smell was very sulfurous. I rinsed it out and left it out to dry. Just like it said in everything I read, the smell disappeared when it was dry. It is still greasy from the lanolin so I'll need to use hot water. Marsha's Projects: Noromania: Finished!! I used 42 skeins of Noro Kureyon (Aran weight). The finished size is about 71” x 83”. I used 4,578 yards and estimated I knit 173,680 stitches. Ironically, I ran out of yarn binding off so I found some leftover Lamb's Prides to bind off the last 1⁄8 of bind off. Flowers from My Garden: Starting a spinning project with fiber I bought at Stitches in March. I've spun three 3-ply skeins. I received the new motor for my Dreaming Robots EEW 6.0 espinner so I am back in business. Snowflower: by Heidi Kirrmeier. Cast on twice and both times twisted the stitches when I joined 312 stitches. Decided after the bright yellow provisional cast on to knit two rows of main color. Then I picked one leg of the backside of the provisional cast on with bright blue and knit four rows and bound off. This gave me more fabric to keep the stitches from twisting. I would love to know if listeners have a better idea of how not to twist stitches when joining that many stitches in the round. Nanny Meier Tea Cozy: Inspired by Lily Pulitzer colors. She's making WWDD bracelets for us too! 5 of the nieces and nephews started school + Gabriella started pre-school so far. They turned out really pretty and I'm excited to give them away.  I'm still working on processing a Corriedale x Border Leicester from 2016. I'm flicking the locks before I feed them into the drum carder, trying to keep the fibers as aligned as possible (as is done in combing). I'm pulling the batts off the carder through a diz and making nests of pseudo-combed top. I've done another 2 oz of this relatively slow process.  Finished my mom's Chicks in a Basket and finished the antlers on her reindeer ornaments. Why, oh, why did she choose these patterns? Finished the dyeing up the remainder of the Corrie x Targhee x Merino fleece that I started this summer with the purple skeins. Once it was dry I started carding the red/orange dyed fleece into batts. Her Knit Picks Felici Zen Socks had a hole in the foot. It was easy to repair with a bit of yarn. I washed them and they're ready to give back. I only finished these in May 2022, right before Mother's Day so these haven't held up very well. Click here for my Ravelry Project Page. I also did a blanket repair on a knitted blanket a friend's mother asked me to fix. I was assuming it was crochet, so the fact that it was knitted was a surprise. The section that was torn was part of a very long strip of knitting that was knit on the bias, so it was a little tricky but it was in garter stitch and I did a good job of pulling the stitches back up. Dan brought up my wheel. I still spent a lot of time lying down between projects but it was nice to get out. I missed our nephew's 16th birthday pool party, though, so that was a bummer. Jeff was able to get an extra ticket for me to join he and Riley to see Lainey Wilson at the Mohegan Sun casino on Friday night! We had dinner, loved the show, got a cool Watermelon Moonshine Stanley Tumbler, and then I slept over at their house. I do now!  Kelly's Projects Finished socks for myself using the yarn from Purl 2 Walla Walla called Epicurean Kitchen. Currently knitting socks using a skein of Gay Pride Flag from Weird Sisters Wool Emporium . I finished spinning the Corriedale x Targhee x Merino fleece where I dyed the wool and then carded.  This is a Black Sheep Gathering fleece from 2017. I still have about 2 lbs of this fleece left and I was losing about 10% in the carding process on this fleece.  I started and finished a 3 ounce braid of mixed BFL that was overdyed by Two Guys Yarn. It's a two ply yarn in muted primary colors.  I'm still working on processing a Corriedale x Border Leicester from 2016. I'm flicking the locks before I feed them into the drum carder, trying to keep the fibers as aligned as possible (as is done in combing). With this fleece I'm pulling the batts off the carder through a diz and making nests of pseudo-combed top. This process has resulted in about 20% loss. I learned a lot on this project:  Great Wall to Wall Carpet Removal Project Kelly's Projects I'm continuing the pair of socks for myself using the yarn from Purl 2 Walla Walla called Epicurean Kitchen. I'm on the foot of the second sock. I have a skein of Gay Pride Flag from Weird Sisters Wool Emporium waiting to be cast on for my next pair of socks (for a gift). I finished spinning the Cormo x Merino x Wensleydale fleece. I have about 1500 yards of a 3-ply that is about fingering weight. The staple length gives the yarn a nice sheen but it is soft enough that most people could probably wear it in a pullover. This is a Black Sheep Gathering fleece from 2016. I still have another box of this for another project. I'm now spinning the Corriedale x Targhee x Merino fleece where I dyed the wool and then carded. The batts are a nice heathered blue/purple and I'm spinning woolen. I have 9 ounces of the purple carded batts to spin. This is a Black Sheep Gathering fleece from 2017. I still have about 2 lbs of this fleece left and I was losing about 10% in the carding process on this fleece.  I am also working on processing a Corriedale x Border Leicester from 2016. This fleece has nice long locks so I am doing the same as with the black fleece. I am flicking the locks before I feed them into the drum carder, trying to keep the fibers as aligned as possible (as is done in combing). With this fleece I'm pulling the batts off the carder through a diz and making nests of pseudo-combed top. This process has resulted in about 20% loss.  I think I'd like to finish processing the whole bag (about 36 ounces). When I returned home, we finished the of the plans and held her funeral mass that Thursday morning. Dan's younger sister Kathy (and her husband Tony) came in from Florida and stayed with us as did my friend Laura (from NYC). We all met up for dinner on Wednesday night with Dan & Matt's aunt who came in from Maine and 2 of her daughters and their families. The services and lunch afterwards were beautiful. Readings and music were all specially chosen and read/performed by people she loved. Its was a beautiful send off. We had a small gathering after at my friend Megg's house. She, Laura and I walked down to the beach just before sunset. On a Happy Note While Laura was in town we went for a late lunch with Kris and Megg at the Salt Society and then Laura, Kris and I got ice cream at Hornstra and Laura and I went on to see No Hard Feelings at the movies. Saturday July 8th we had a big pool party for our friend Trish's birthday. Fun day with all the kiddos before they head off to their various camps. On Sunday, Dan's friends came for a visit and brought us a delicious homemade strawberry rhubarb pie. Monday night we did a double date night with Megg and Tom to The Snug, an Irish pub, for live music to catch up before they head to Ireland for summer visits. Thursday I celebrated 20 years at Mass General with the annual Ether Day Dinner (normally held in October but ours was postponed) where they celebrate staff with milestones in 5 year increments from 20-60 years of service. Cocktail hour with live music followed by a delicious dinner for over 600 people! It was made especially fun because my dear friend Waveney and her husband Atticus were there- and Dan ran into a friend from work whose wife was also celebrating 20 years. On October 16, 1846, the first successful public demonstration of the use of ether for surgical anesthesia was performed, making pain-free surgery possible. Friday pool night. Meagan and Gayle, up from NH, brought resin/acrylic crafts and the fam decorated cutting boards and trays. I missed it but Dan and the others who learned are going to teach me.
