20 years ago Yvon Chouinard and Craig Matthews set out to change the way the world does business, and how businesses engaged with natural resources. We sat down with the two and talked about the inception of 1% For The Planet and where it's going. This is a very special anniversary episode. 

We head to the home of Gian Lawrence, also known as TheBlackstoneFly in episode 4. We hang out in the kitchen while he prepares a meal, and go deep on the topic of inclusion in fly fishing, the similarities between the process of cooking and flyfishing, and a few other things.

Episode 3 is a very special one. This is a two-part episode, and we are pleased to release them during Native American Heritage Month. We traveled to the Wind River Reservation - home to the Eastern Shoshone and the Northern Arapaho tribes to talk with Matt Shilling from the Indifly Foundation about the work they do with Indigenous Peoples helping to create economic opportunities in their communities through fly fishing while protecting the resources and the environments that sustain them. Indifly is currently working with the Shoshone and Arapaho to set up a lodge on the reservation. In part two we talk with Art Lawson, Director of Wind River Fish and Game about life on the reservation, and how a fly fishing lodge will improve life for the Shoshone and Arapaho who live there.  

18 years ago Dylan Tomine made the difficult decision to stop fishing on the Skykomish River. It was heartbreaking to walk away from the river he cut his teeth fishing on, a river he loved, his home water. In the 18 years that have gone by since Dylan last fished the Skykomish, wild Steelhead populations have all collapsed.  In this episode, Dave convinced Dylan to take a trip down memory lane, to float the Sky, do a bit of fishing, talk about what has changed, and the future of wild steelhead. This one is emotional, thought-provoking, and at times pretty funny.  Join us for a day on the Skykomish with Dylan and Dave as Dylan returns at long last to his home waters.
