Cheddy and Michelle are the hosts of The Winning Inside Podcast, a podcast where they chat, share and interview individuals who share their expert advice, opinions, and lessons learned about the different ways to grow and fly with their audience. In this episode, Jennie, Cheddy, and Michelle discuss:The art of accepting “no"Categorizing your “people to reach out list” in direct sales businessClosing a saleThe importance of having a coachKey Takeaways:Hearing “no” and experiencing losses in business is normal. It's all part of the adventure and journey. What matters is that you show up and be the greatest version of yourself at the time, as well as being present in the situation. And a “no” is not always a final notice, sometimes it's really a “not now”.The three types of people to contact in business are those who will surely say "no," those who will say "maybe," and those who will say "yes." Begin with the no list. If you get that many no's in the beginning, they have less of an effect on you because you've had them in the beginning.Closing a sale is more of a commitment than a close. If you have a service, a product, or anything else that will bring value to someone's life, you owe it to them to share it with those who might benefit from it.Business is not a destination; it is a consistent journey. Coaches will help you stay focused and helps you stay aligned.“If you try to force things on people, the force meets forces - it kind of repels. But if you do what you did, you open the opportunity for them to see the opportunity and walk into that thing.” - Cheddy Matthews Follow Winning Inside at:Website: www.WinningInside.ioTwitter: @winning_inside Facebook: @WinningInsideLinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/company/winninginsideInstagram: @WinningInsideYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoF6Rtked9jTNVdaVmARl6g Connect with Cheddy Matthews: Website: www.HEDSpaceCoaching.com Book: www.calendly.com/cheddymatthewsShow: www.WinningInside.ioEmail: CheddySpeaks@gmail.comTwitter: @CheddySpeaksFacebook: @CheddySpeaksYouTube: @CheddySpeaksLinkedIn: www.LinkedIn.com/in/CheddyMatthewsInstagram: @CheddySpeaks Connect with Michelle Wickman: Website: www.WickmanWellness.comBook: www.https://lifecoachmichelle.as.meShow: www.WinningInside.ioEmail: Michelle@wickmanwellness.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/wickman.michelleLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michellewickman/Instagram:@wickman_wellnessCONNECT WITH JENNIE:Twitter: https://twitter.com/jenniebplFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/badassdirectsalesmastery/app/307339332686535/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/badassdirectsalesmastery/Website: https://badassdirectsalesmastery.com/ Show: https://badassdirectsalesmastery.com/blog/Email: firstname.lastname@example.orgAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Meet BudWith nearly 40 years of sales, marketing, and management experience at multiple Fortune 500 companies, Bud started Ascend Performance, LLC, powered by Sales Xceleration, utilizing his experience to help small to medium-sized companies obtain optimal results. He also works in talent selection, assisting companies in finding the right person for the right seat using state-of-the-art assessments. These assessments can also be used to understand skill sets as a basis for training and self-development. What is an outsourced VP of sales?I think in my bio, you talked about that I was a sales professional. I was in business for 40 years. So before I tell you what I do, I'd like to tell you why I do it. And those 40 years was really a curse and a blessing. And I worked for those two Fortune 500 companies, great organizations, I took away much. But I found myself over that time period traveling a lot. And what happened was that I traveled 80% of the time across the country and even across the world. And this caused me to miss a lot of family events, birthdays, school events, etc. And although I lived in Brookfield at the time, for over 20 years, I wasn't really part of the community. In fact, I really didn't even know my neighbors. And I'm ashamed to say that. So about a year and a half ago, I decided to make a change. And what I want to do is take that experience, knowledge and skills that I gained, while being a part of those organizations, to smaller companies in my community. And in doing so I can spend more time with my three grandchildren, enjoy our cabin up in the north woods and make a difference in the lives of small business owners, many of which now today I call my friends. So what is an outsourced VP of sales? Well, what I do is I come in to small-to-medium-sized organizations and I place a sales infrastructure within them. And what that means: it's a sales strategy, a sales process. I introduce KPIs to help drive the right sales behaviors toward company goals. I write job descriptions for sales professionals. I work out incentive plans. I focus on an outbound sales strategy, and that's the cold calls, and the prospecting, and the seven steps to selling that I implement within the organization. So once they get sales and revenue up, and that's what it's all designed to do: to help small to medium sized owners grow revenue, then I can either exit the business by hiring a replacement, or help them hire a replacement. Or I can train one of the sales professionals that they have within their organization to take over, and then periodically monitor and make sure that they're on task. It's a great job, I love every minute of it. It helps me spend a lot more time at home. And it helps me really gain fulfillment and joy in my job. And it's, it's not the old grind that sometimes we all face in a career, it's something that I really enjoy doing. And you know, sometimes I like to tell a story about how I got into it, and what the difference is, and how it kind of all works together. So I was called by a gentleman by the name of Michael Patrick Cola, and Michael ran a small food company in Elizabeth, New Jersey. And if you've ever been to Elizabeth, it's the place that you don't want to go to at night. But I remember going into Michael's manufacturing facility, and it was about a $7 million organization at the time. And I was walking up these big steps. And I looked into the office, and he had the corner office on the second floor of the manufacturing company. And I looked in there, and Michael was 52 years old at the time, and he was an Irish, Italian. And he had red hair and had these big red cheeks. And I looked at him and he says, "I need some help." He says, "I spend 12-14 hours a day in this place, I've got to run the operation, I've got to run the supply chain, I've got to buy raw materials. And then I had two sales guys over there in another room. And I don't know what the heck they're doing." So he says, "We've been

A NEW SONG Our readings today are II Samuel 18, Psalm 56, and Matthew 27. We are reading through the New Living Translation. “O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!” (II Sam 18:33NLT) It's a cry of a Father for his boy. It's a tragic cry of brokenness for all that's wrong. And in Matthews reading we have a cry of a boy for his father. “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” (Mt 27:46 NLT) This is known as jesus great cry of dereliction. Many have taught that this is where God has turned his back on his son, or even this is where God is Killing his son for the sins of the world. But things are not always as they seem. And much of the early Church never saw it this way. Jesus is actually quoting from Psalm 22 here. The psalm begins with the words My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when i call out for help? Like many of David's psalms, they begin with a cry of dereliction from David, but they all end with David reaffirming God, as faithful, God who is present, God who never abandons. And that is in fact what we see in this psalm. Vs 24 reads “ For he did not despise or abhor the affliction of the afflicted; he did not hide his face from me,[f but heard when I[g] cried to him. Jesus is identifying with our experiences with betrayal, and abandonment in this life, he is tasting this just as we do. But he is not being abandoned by his Father. The end of the psalm makes this clear. Paul goes further and tells us in 2 Cor 5:19 that “God was in Christ reconciling himself to the world.” There was no division in the trinity at any point on the cross. God the FAther does not abandon the son, and God the father will not abandon or forsake you. And the prayer of my heart is that I will know the faithful love of God, who will never leave me or forsake me, just as Jesus the son knew this. And that I will know his joy.
Could anything be better than walking with Jesus in the flesh? Jesus said it was to our advantage for Him to return to Heaven and send us the Comforter. In this message, Pastor DaVon explains how the Holy Spirit benefits you as He comes alongside you to help, comfort, and encourage you.

Denny Matthews has been the one consistent radio voice with the Kansas City Royals since their first year, 1969. For his first few years in the booth, Matthews, who grew up in central Illinois, worked with the legendary Buddy Blattner. When Blattner retired in 1974, Matthews became the "voice" of the Royals and has been the Royals' top broadcaster ever since. From 1974 through the 1998 season – a stretch that includes some of the best seasons in the Royals' history – Matthews teamed with Fred White. During their 25 seasons together, "Denny and Fred" became one of the most beloved broadcasting duos in Major League Baseball. In 1999, the Royals fired White and replaced him with Ryan Lefebvre. Despite a tremendous age difference, Denny and Ryan integrated their styles well and became popular with Royals fans. The Royals inducted Matthews into the Royals Hall of Fame in 2004. He was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2005, and then he was presented with the Ford C. Frick Award by the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007.This chat with Denny, who has become a major supporter of students and families in crisis through C You In The Major Leagues, was recorded on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Music Theater Heritage in front of our C-10 Mentoring & Leadership students and mentors. The C word with our C-10 students and mentors was CONFIDENCE, which, in the C You In The Major Leagues vernacular means someone who accepts constructive criticism, will try something new, has a positive attitude, and views self as a winner. This interview with Denny focuses largely on that word Confidence and how it pertains to managers and players Denny has been around since 1969. Frankly, we do not do a dive into a lot of anecdotes from Denny's career. This is likely a side of Denny that you have not heard before. We lead things off with some pregame batting practice.
