We all know how good Noni is at spinning a yarn, right? Well today's was the story of a Late Late Toy Show special including two of Munster rugby's finest. Once upon a time, when Conor Murray and Keith Earls were only young buckeens, they starred on, "the only good programme RTÉ makes the whole year" - as Noni puts it. It's a tale of high-powered toys, the Billie Barry kids, and a "chawklit lolly maker" causing an awful mess. This year's Toy Show has a lot to live up to. Irish TikToker, YouTuber and all around funny man, Chris Murphy, joined me for a slightly hungover chat on this week's episode of Finnterviews! We chatted all about Chris' journey from performing as a Billie Barry kid and the trauma's of working in children's amusements, to blowing up on TikTok, distrusting Tinder and becoming one the frontrunners in Irish LGBT+ comedy and the exciting plans Chris has in store for the future.Follow Chris:TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@chrisisainmdomInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/chrisisainmdom/?hl=enYouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PI2S7bgGfQA&feature=youtu.beFollow Finnterviews:Instagram - https://tinyurl.com/yat3odr6Twitter - https://tinyurl.com/yx99bz5sFacebook - https://tinyurl.com/yyz8betnYouTube -https://tinyurl.com/26prhdu6TikTok - https://tinyurl.com/e4aauezn
This episode was recorded way back when, one of the first episodes of the first season of How to be Sound. This is me revisiting that episode – the only episode I've recorded with a person of colour, which is a massive failing on my part and something I will be looking to improve in the future. I've done a bad job of offering my listeners equal and fair representation of today's world, and for that I can only apologise. #BlackLivesMatterYou'll find Erica Cody on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – and you can check out her music videos (you should) on YouTube, too. Thank you so much for listening to How to be Sound. Please take some time to rate and/or review on iTunes; it helps other people who might like it to find How to be Sound! Producer extraordinaire Liam Geraghty's Meet Your Maker is also well worth a listen. Mother of Pod. Just in case you don't know what a Billie Barry kid is... BE WARNED: this will scar you for life. Check out BIMM, Ireland's music school (it's not really like Fame, allegedly). Step Up: High Water starring Jade Chynoweth is really, really good. I promise. Watsky: Moral of the Story is a good song to listen to (on repeat) when you're worrying about what other people are doing (unlike Erica, who's focused on her own sh*t). Dublin actress Aisling Breen began performing at age 7 and never surrendered to the pressure to 'get a real job'. That's the kind of sass and confidence we love at Before Brunch, and it's exactly what Diet Coke's #BecauseICan campaign is all about. She currently stars in Tinder The Comedy at The Tivoli theatre, playing Shaz - a Tinderella on a mission to get her mate a plus one to a wedding. We caught up with Aisling to chat Tinder in your 30s, what it's really like to be a Billie Barry kid, and the reality of committing to your passion - it's not all fun and games but for Aisling there was no other way. Before Brunch Podcast is the perfect Sunday morning hangover cure. Megan and Cassie chew over all the biggest stories of the week, from the frivolous to the meaningful and everything in between. It's the same dirt you talk about at Brunch, we're just digging a little deeper. If you like the podcast, please do subscribe, rate and review to help other brunchers find us!
