Dennis is joined via Zoom by actor Jeff Hiller to discuss his new memoir Actress of a Certain Age as well as his recent Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy for the HBO series Somebody Somewhere. Jeff talks about being completely surprised by the nomination, his plan to enjoy every moment of the Emmy experience and how happy he is to get to share it with the series' star Bridget Everett who is nominated in the writing category. He also talks about what it meant to play such a kind, nuanced character like Joel after years of often snarky smaller parts with names like Flight Attendant and Waiter. He also talks about making a vision board that was eerily similar to Joel's and he made his long before he even knew about the show. He also recalls spending a semester as an exchange student in Namibia in college and the story in his book hat made Dennis cry about receiving a very gay sign from his mother after she passed away. Anna Vocino Returns!Take a walk with me down Fascination Street, as I get to know even more about Anna Vocino. Anna's first appearance on the show was released on 6.13.22. I recomend going back and checking that one out, as it was A BLAST! This time around, we discuss some different stuff. We kick the show off talking about her first experience on a film set. Anna was in the classic film Dead Poets Society, where she got to hang out with the late, great Robin Williams. We then transition into her work on another Robin Williams project, this time for television. The Crazy Ones was one of Robin's last projects, so naturally I ask her about working on that with him. Anna and I then talk about a series she worked on called Free Radio, and she tells some great stories from that set as well. Then we move onto the subject of her health. Anna has some fairly unique immune related issues that she deals with on a daily basis. She is fine, but does navigate some challenges, and she is very open about dealing with those. Send us a textEver watched a movie you expected to hate but ended up enjoying? That's exactly what happened with Disney's latest live-action remake "Snow White." Going in with rock-bottom expectations after months of PR disasters, we found ourselves genuinely surprised by a film that delivers far more entertainment value than its pre-release controversy suggested.The unexpected highlight? Gal Gadot absolutely shines as the Evil Queen. After seeing her typecast as heroic Wonder Woman for years, watching her embrace villainy with such delicious enthusiasm is refreshing. Her musical performance impresses (even with probable auto-tuning), and her physical embodiment of the character through facial expressions and movement demonstrates genuine talent. Andrew Burnap as the prince similarly delivers a charismatic performance that leaves you wanting more of his character – ironically contradicting lead actress Rachel Zegler's now-infamous comment that "he could be cut out."What makes this film fascinating is the disconnect between its actual quality (we both gave it 3.5/5 stars) and its public perception. The visuals are stunning, the supporting cast delivers, and even the controversial dwarf characters quickly become endearing through their whimsical presence. Yet the film's reception has been overshadowed by off-screen drama that threatens to sink what could have been a successful Disney remake. It's a reminder that sometimes the most interesting Hollywood stories happen behind the camera – and a genuinely good film can be torpedoed before audiences ever get a chance to form their own opinions.Have you seen Snow White yet?
