Hello fellow coaches! Would you like some targeted coaching advice based on neuroscience and consciousness? We are hosting our quarterly "Ask Ann and Ursula" show where you can submit challenging or confusing client scenarios and we'll do our best to roll out the neuroscience and perhaps point you in a helpful direction. Because of confidentiality, we'd like you to submit questions via email to ann@beaboveleadership.com so we can make them somewhat generic (and so your voice is recognized). This is going to be a really fun and lively show with lots of advice and of course, lots of neuroscience!
Join us for an as-always lively discussion of coaching, consciousness and neuroscience. On this show, we'll talk about creating a resilient brain -- one that can easily recover from stress and disappointment. We'll explore the current research on stress and how consciously recovering from the "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" may be one of the best ways to increase our overall level of effectiveness.
"Hey, can you step in my office for a minute? I want to give you some feedback." Words we all welcome, right? Um, not so much, usually. In fact, they send most of us into a mild (or worse) state of flight or flight, making it hard to listen and take in anything helpful. And yet, knowing our impact in the world is one of the ways we grow past our own blind spots and les effective habits. So how do we get better at giving and recieving feedback when the brain is programmed to, in the words of Monty Python "run away! run away!"? Join us for a lively discussion about neuroscience, consciousness and feedback. We'll share what we are discovering from a brain and consciousness perspective -- and we may have as many questions about this tricky area as we have answers!
This week we'll be talking about the way words can (and do) actually change our brain. For example, a recent study found that just seeing a list of negative words can make an anxious or depressed person feel worse. What's more, focusing on negative words and thoughts can actually damage important brain structures related to learning, memory and emotions. Conversely, focusing on positive words and thoughts (even illogical ones) builds positive brain structures. Join us for a lively discussion of the impact of words on consciouness and the brain!
Join us for a lively discussion of consciousness and the brain. What do we think is happening with our wiring and chemistry at different levels of effectiveness? What is the brain map for enlightenment? Please join us and bring all your questions and thoughts!
Our radio show is for all coaches and others in the personal and professional development area who are interested in neuroscience and the link between coaching and effectiveness. We covers a variety of topics - seen through the lense of neuroscience and consciousness and how it applies to coaching and leadership. Are you deeply curious about what really makes us tick? Why our clients get stuck in unhelpful patterns ? Are you interested in learning powerful, simple, brain-based tools to easily move your clients to new levels of effectiveness? Through our Seven Levels of Effectiveness, we provide a road map of human effectiveness which elegantly and clearly shows us not only where we are, but where we want to go to find that new level of thinking. The Seven Levels of Personal, Group and Organizational Effectiveness 7. Synchronicity— 6. Innovation— 5. Engagement— 4. Courage— 3. Frustration— 2. Fear—
Intuition has long been thought to be somewhat mysterious and undefine-able. But instead of thinking of intuition as a “thing” that some people have and others don’t, current scientific research points to the power of thinking of intuition as a system of interconnected aspects of our body, mind and brain, such as: o The left hemisphere of the brain gathers domain-specific knowledge o The right hemisphere of the brain connects to the body and receives info from the heart and gut o The body “knows” through biochemical response to physical cues o Our mirror neurons allow us to connect with people empathically
January Topic: Energy Fields - who is being shaped by what? We will be talking about Consciousness, our model " the 7 Levels of Effectiveness" and the link between Neuroscience, Consciousness and Effectiveness. Through our Seven Levels of Effectiveness, we provide a road map of human effectiveness which elegantly and clearly shows us not only where we are, but where we want to go to find that new level of thinking so badly needed in today’s world. We undergird this roadmap with research- based Neuroscience, that we make easy to understand. The Seven Levels of Personal, Group and Organizational Effectiveness 7. Synchronicity— 6. Innovation— 5. Engagement— 4. Courage— 3. Frustration— 2. Fear— 1. Hopelessness—
December Show Topic: The Pre-Frontal Cortex and the Holidays: " What is too little and what is too much"? We will be sharing with listeners the latest cutting-edge neuroscience research and making the link between Neuroscience, Consciousness and Effectiveness. This week we will focus on "Chaos". How it is created, how we experience chaos and what happens in the brain. Also how can "Chaos" actually be a gift? At BEabove Leadership, we help people understand that the most important thing is not what we DO, but who we ARE. Through our Seven Levels of Effectiveness, we provide a road map of human effectiveness which elegantly and clearly shows us not only where we are, but where we want to go to find that new level of thinking so badly needed in today’s world.
