With over 50 years of engineering experience, Bob breaks down how he applied problem-solving principles to one of the most frustrating parts of the game… and turned it into a system. From building companies in air pollution control to inventing new products and writing Putting by the Numbers, Bob shares how structured thinking, consistency, and curiosity can transform performance—not just in golf, but in life. This conversation goes beyond mechanics. It explores mindset, practice habits, and why most golfers (and professionals) may be focusing on the wrong things.

In this installment of the Mussar Masterclass on the Gate of Slander, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe focuses on the practical path to overcoming harmful speech. The Orchot Tzaddikim teaches that someone seeking to repent from gossip, flattery, falsehood, idle chatter, and slander must build a strong protective fence around themselves. The first step is distancing oneself from environments and friendships that normalize negative speech. Just as bad habits are contagious, positive habits are cultivated by surrounding oneself with people who speak words of Torah, wisdom, and fear of Heaven. Lasting change begins with changing one's environment. The episode emphasizes the extraordinary power of silence and intentional speech. Rabbi Wolbe explains that a person who wishes to elevate themselves must reduce unnecessary conversation, increase Torah study, and become mindful of every word they utter. Speech is not merely communication—it is one of the most powerful forces available to a human being. Our words can heal, inspire, encourage, and elevate, or they can destroy relationships, reputations, and even entire communities. The class concludes with a memorable parable about a man who obtained milk from a lioness to heal a king. In a dream, the various organs of the body argued about which was most important, until the tongue demonstrated that it possessed the power to bring either life or death. The lesson echoes King Solomon's famous teaching: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." Rabbi Wolbe leaves listeners with a powerful reminder that mastering one's speech is among the greatest forms of self-mastery and spiritual growth. _____________This Podcast Series is Generously Underwritten by Peter & Becky BotvinRecorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on February 2, 2026, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on June 3, 2026_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! Share your questions at aw@torchweb.org or visit torchweb.org for more Torah content.  _____________About the Host:Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe, Director of TORCH in Houston, brings decades of Torah scholarship to guide listeners in applying Jewish wisdom to daily life.  To directly send your questions, comments, and feedback, please email: awolbe@torchweb.org_____________Support Our Mission:Our Mission is Connecting Jews & Judaism. 215  If you've put real effort into improving your relationship…Like,  tried communication tools, or mindset work, nervous system regulation, self-worth healing, or attachment work—or all of the above—and still find yourself feeling stuck in the same emotional patterns…this episode will likely land deeply. In the previous two episodes, we explored Emotional Agency and how your inner world shapes the way you experience love and connection as an HSP.Today, we go deeper into what actually makes relationship change hold.Because while most relationship advice focuses on what happens between partners, real change starts inside you.  And even approaches that focus on healing your inner world are often incomplete—working with only one layer of the system while leaving the others untouched. So the missing piece to transforming your relationship as an HSP isn't more effort, or better communication, or even more self-work in isolation. It's understanding that your emotional well-being is a system, and learning to work with the 3 layers of that system in an integrated way.In this episode, we explore:• Why traditional relationship advice often doesn't create lasting change for HSPs • Why mindset work alone isn't enough • Why nervous system work alone isn't enough • Why self-worth and self-compassion work alone isn't enough • How your nervous system, thoughts, and sense of self-worth constantly interact • Why working with all three is what actually creates lasting emotional and relational changeAnd perhaps most importantly, if you've been wondering, "Why does it feel like I've worked so hard and our relationship still isn't where I want it to be?"...This compassionate, clarifying, relieving episode will finally give you the answer. And it will also show you the path forward to create real relationship change that lasts.SHOW NOTES: Learn more and begin Foundations of Emotional Well-Being for HSPs here. Learn more about the full path of Foundations of Emotional Well-Being for HSPs → Marriage Sanctuary 1:1 here.

Today’s episode is a special rebroadcast of one of my all-time favorite conversations on the B.rad Podcast! Every so often, I like to revisit episodes that made a profound impact on me personally and delivered tremendous value to listeners, and this conversation with Thais Gibson is absolutely one of those episodes. I am so pleased to introduce a fantastically awesome show with Thais Gibson, creator of the Personal Development School! When Thais first sent me an overview of what she wanted to discuss, I thought, "Sure, let's talk about it." But I have to tell you, I was completely blown away. This became one of my favorite shows I have ever recorded. Listeners, I truly believe this episode has the potential to be life-changing. I know it was for me. It probably helped that I unknowingly became the guinea pig for much of the conversation. What you'll hear is essentially a live coaching session where Thais demonstrates her expertise and methods using real-life examples from my own experiences—particularly the disconnect between my stated goals and some of my behavior patterns. We focused on the pursuit of wealth and financial security, an area where I occasionally feel frustrated or deficient, perhaps because of subconscious patterns operating beneath the surface. Thais explains the causes of self-sabotage and how to reprogram limiting thought patterns. One of the most fascinating parts of the discussion is when she explains that we're operating from our conscious mind only about three to five percent of the time. If you're someone who listens to podcasts, reads books, and continually educates yourself, your conscious mind may be doing a great job acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. But your subconscious needs and programming can still interfere and pull you off course. So in this episode, it's time for Brad to get processed, dig deep, and explore what's really happening when self-sabotage kicks in. Thais Gibson is a counselor, bestselling author of Learning Love, and co-founder of the Personal Development School. She holds a Ph.D. and more than 13 certifications in modalities including CBT, NLP, somatic experiencing, Internal Family Systems, shadow work, and hypnosis. After nearly a decade running a successful private practice, she founded The Personal Development School—an online learning platform designed to provide a more accessible and authentic way for people to transform their lives. In fact, after we finished this recording, I enrolled immediately. I encourage you to visit her website and explore what she offers. She offers a test run where you can see what it’s all about—check it out at personaldevelopmentschool.com. Enjoy this special rebroadcast with Thais Gibson! TIMESTAMPS: People may not always be aware that they are self-sabotaging because it usually occurs at a subconscious level. [00:53] Your conscious mind is responsible for roughly 3 to 5 percent of all of your beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and actions or decisions. Your subconscious is responsible for 95 to 97 percent. [04:48] We all have subconscious personality needs. [07:54] Thais uses Brad as an example to unpack what needs it relates to. She asks first, what does he do in his spare time? [09:34] Where does he spend his money? What does he like to learn about? [12:10] Our subconscious mind is also the host of all of our limiting beliefs. [19:46] There is a tool for how to pull up what your limiting beliefs are. [21:42] We're scared of something that's hidden in the periphery at a subconscious level of mind [24:29] Reconditioning is a tool for reprogramming. [26:25] Thais identifies characteristics of people who have been in a relationship with a narcissist. [30:41] Look for the things that trigger you. Plan your limiting belief and use its opposite. [33:02] Step one: What is your core belief and its opposite? Step two: what are 10 memories to support? They can be recent memories, really old memories, doesn't matter. 10 memories to support this new idea about yourself. I am, in fact, good enough. Step three: listen back for 21 days. [34:17] When thinking about financial security, many people struggle with their subconscious as in feeling they don’t deserve it or some parts of society that have a distaste for the inequitable distribution of wealth. [43:10] There are seven areas of life that need attention. Career, financial, mental, emotional, spiritual, physical and relationship. To ignore one area, we will pay for it later. [52:45] What specific things or set of things are you going to do on a daily basis to reprogram? [59:13] So much futile energy and effort toward change without addressing these core issues is going to be tough. [01:06:13] LINKS: Brad Kearns.com BradNutrition.com - 20% OFF Your First Order! In this Mussar Masterclass on the Gate of Slander, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe explores one of Judaism's most transformative principles: judging others favorably. Drawing from Orchot Tzaddikim, he explains that our obligation to judge favorably depends on the character of the individual involved. A righteous person should be given the benefit of the doubt even when circumstances appear questionable. An average person should be judged charitably whenever possible. Most importantly, the way we judge others becomes the standard by which Heaven judges us. When we extend grace to others, Hashem extends grace to us. The episode then shifts to the dangers of revenge, grudges, and public embarrassment. Rabbi Wolbe emphasizes a crucial distinction: we may condemn a person's actions, but we should never define the person by their mistakes. This principle is especially relevant in parenting, where criticizing a child's behavior rather than labeling the child preserves dignity and encourages growth. Our words have the power either to elevate people toward greatness or to push them toward failure. A central theme throughout the class is the power of positive expectations. Through stories ranging from Talmudic teachings to NFL MVP Josh Allen's upbringing, Rabbi Wolbe demonstrates how people often rise to the expectations placed upon them. Parents, teachers, spouses, and friends can profoundly influence others by speaking to their potential rather than their shortcomings. The episode concludes with the famous lesson that the true "elixir of life" is guarding one's tongue. Long life, healthy relationships, and spiritual greatness begin with careful, disciplined speech. _____________This Podcast Series is Generously Underwritten by Peter & Becky BotvinRecorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on February 2, 2026, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on June 2, 2026_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! June arrives with a very different energy than May. If the past month felt intense, fast-moving, or emotionally charged, intuitive astrologer Stevie Calista says this month offers something many of us desperately need: space to slow down, reflect, and integrate. We're being invited to pause, review, and reconnect with what truly matters. In This Episode, We're Covering This + MoreThe lingering energy of the rare Sagittarius Blue Moon and what it revealed about your purpose, truth, and vision for the future. The powerful Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Cancer and how it encourages deeper connection, family healing, self-care, and emotional expansion.Chiron, the "Wounded Healer," moves into Taurus on June 19, beginning a major collective healing cycle around self-worth, security, safety, money, and our relationship with the body. The Summer Solstice on June 21 and the beginning of Cancer Season—a time to reconnect with home, family, emotional nourishment, and the people who feel like family.Mercury Retrograde in Cancer (June 29–July 24) and how to work with this reflective period instead of fighting it.The Theme for June: CuriosityIf there's one word Stevie wants us to carry through June, it's curiosity. When emotions surface, old wounds are activated, or uncertainty arises, ask:What is this here to teach me?What perspective am I missing? How can I meet this moment with compassion instead of judgment? The biggest breakthroughs often come through the challenges. As Stevie reminds us, it's the difficult astrological aspects that move the needle and create lasting growth.MORE FROM STEVIE CALISTAWebsite: steviecalista.com https://steviecalista.comInstagram: @farmhousemoonSubstack: Letters From The Stars https://substack.com/@farmhousemoonMORE ON CHIRONRobyn references our conversation with clinical psychologist, astrologer, and Chiron expert Dr. Lisa Tahir, who integrates Chiron's wisdom into her therapeutic and healing work. “Send Coach John a message”I always love seeing some of the same strong people, who continue to post things on a regular basis that help others.  A former student of mine who is now a fabulous teacher and coach, Coach Ray Ostrowski (@CoachRayO3313) is definitely one of those people that are a quality difference maker for others.  Here is his intro for the post I saw today: “Your % matters. You can't be a part-timer & expected to receive full-time benefits & rewards. Break ‘what you do' up into a % based on your number of opportunities & see how you stack up. Are your outcomes in line with your expectations? Does your % help or hurt your effort?”  Now remember, he writes these quotes out every day on a big white board in marker, for his students / players to see!  He's sharing these gems for anyone that wants to keep getting better - even if we are not in high school any more or that we don't play football either.  That's the beauty of being a lifetime learner… it happens every day if you go looking for it.  The quote that he wrote out is this:  “% Matters!  You can't be a part-timer & expect full time benefits & rewards.  In sports, percentages matter - 75% from the line is solid, while .350 from the plate is elite.  But in life, what % of the work are you actually doing?  If you're only showing up for half the reps, half the prep & half the effort - don't expect the whole result.  There isn't much middle ground for commitment & excuse.  The scoreboard will reflect  your investment.”  WOW!! Take that to heart my friends.  This got me thinking about my % as connected to my everyday life. What's my “batting average” for each day?  Am I even getting to the plate to take an at bat or am I content sitting in the bleachers and “resting” because it's more comfortable and I “get to” or “I've earned it” since I'm retired.  Dang Coach Ray…. you got this guy doing some deep thinking with this one my friend. Thank You! (I hope he's got you thinking too my friends.)  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachjohndaly  - My YouTube Channel is at: Coach John Daly.   Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along with checking out my Top Book list too.  Other things there on my site are being worked on too.  Please let me know that you are reaching out to me from my podcast.  ** I would appreciate anyone to try clicking on the top of the show notes where it says "Send us a text" to leave a few thoughts / comments / questions.  It's a new feature that I'd like to see how it works. **

“Send Coach John a message”I found a new connection for this episode, and even if it's coming out a tad late, I still had to share it with you. It's from Bob Coniglio (@BobConiglio) and his message that goes with the quote is to “Enjoy the day.”  The thought he shared was this:  “Connection is why we're here.  It is what gives purpose and meaning to our lives.”  ~ Brene Brown.  Life is indeed all about connections.  It's about the people we build relationships with throughout life.  It's the sparks that we connect with that fuel our passion and our purpose. Here is the link for the speech (ordinary people do extraordinary things) from Coach Jim Valvano - HERE.   It's also the daily living we choose to go after that connects with both - people and our purpose. Keep investing in those choices every day my friends. As long as I live, I want to keep making these connections every day I have. How about you?  Thanks for listening. **

Perfectionism has a sneaky way of turning a perfectly good life into a project you can never finish. I sit down with author, fiber artist, and motivational speaker Lorie Kleiner Eckhert to talk about reinvention, resilience, and the moment you decide that “good enough” is not failure, it's freedom. Lorie's newest book, Chai On Life (a playful nod to “chai,” the Hebrew word for life), becomes our jumping-off point for how to move through big transitions with more self-trust and less self-criticism.We get practical and personal: why many of us wait decades to give ourselves permission to do what makes us happy, what divorce and midlife singlehood taught Lorie about independence, and how a complicated “perfect” chicken soup recipe captures the problem with overthinking everything. Lorie also shares how quilts became her visual storytelling tool on stages from PTAs to Procter & Gamble, and why returning to simpler, more durable creativity helped her come back to herself. If you're feeling stuck, Lorie offers a clear two-step reinvention plan: keep your healthy daily routine even when you're hurting, then take one tiny step a day toward your new life and write it down in an accountability log. We also normalize therapy and counseling as ongoing emotional support, not a last resort, and we end with a favorite idea: being “flawsome” and giving yourself credit for the brave next step.Subscribe for more conversations on personal growth, mental fitness, creativity, and navigating life transitions, then share this with a friend who needs a little lift and leave a review so more people can find us. What's one tiny step you'll take today?Connect with Lorie HEREHer newest book, Chai on Life, is available at Amazon and anywhere quality books are sold. Let me know what you'd like to hear more about on the showSupport the showI'm Carol Clegg, your host, an accountability coach and curious conversationalist inviting guests from a wide range of backgrounds to share insights on how they live, think, and navigate change. If you enjoy reflection, fresh perspectives, and honest dialogue, this space is for you.If you'd like to experience this work in community, I host a complimentary monthly Accountability Circle  a supportive space to pause, gain clarity, and choose a gentle next step forward. On this episode of Escaping the Drift, we sit down with Dr. Robb Kelly: former Abbey Road session musician, PhD in psychology from Oxford, and the man often called the Gordon Ramsay of the addiction world. Before becoming one of the most sought after addiction specialists in the country, Robb played bass alongside Bowie, Queen, and Elton John, then watched it all disappear into a two bottle a day vodka habit that cost him his children, his homes, and twice cost him his life on the streets of Manchester. In this episode, Robb opens up about the rain soaked night that changed everything, the stranger named Derek who appeared 30 seconds after a desperate prayer, and the mentor named John who taught him the framework he still uses to heal patients today. We dive into why alcoholics are born and addicts are made, the three parts of the brain that operate differently in true alcoholism, and why he believes depression, PTSD, and addiction can be cured rather than just managed. He also breaks down the phone and dopamine epidemic destroying connection in homes everywhere and how to claw it back with simple boundaries. If you have ever felt like the world has written your story for you, this conversation will rewrite the page.
