People Museum is about half of what its name suggests. This group of alternative pop musicians has been building a reputation at gigs around New Orleans. The band plans to share songs from their new EP, “I Made a Madman out of Me and You,” at a show at One Eyed Jack’s on Friday, January 31. The 30th New Orleans Film Festival kicked off this week, and one of the centerpiece movies is Burning Cane . The film’s director is 19-year-old New Orleans native Phillip Youmans, who won the prestigious Founders Award at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
