I was coaching a client earlier this week who told me that she had a big, tough business decision to make that was really weighing heavily on her heart. She is a mom entrepreneur who prides herself on being full of integrity and very supportive of others in her life. But the choice she had to make was going to cause her to possibly hurt someone she cared about, and she asked for me to coach her on the decision. As it turns out, her decision was already made, and she knew it was the right one, but what she really needed was something totally different. Listen in today and find out what it was. I'll be giving a keynote talk at the Women's Small Business Expo in Canton, MI later today, and in it I'll be talking about why we have to put "happy" smack in the middle of our business plans. If we don't, we risk achieving our business goals while sacrificing our personal ones. And who wants to do that? Not any of the mom entrepreneurs I know! At a conference yesterday, a couple of speakers mentioned the extreme stress, constant fear of failure, blatant lack of self-care, loss of relationships and serious depression many entrepreneurs face. Does that sound like something anyone would want to sign up for? Are we celebrating a culture that prides itself on sacrificing these things for the sake of business success? And is there a better way? Of course there is. I even wrote a book about it. And I'll talk about how we can make sure 'entrepreneur' doesn't become a dirty word on today's show.
