The organizers provided several opportunities for the 400 attendees to network with each other, and I observed some interesting networking practices that work--and some that truly don't. I'll share these observations on the show today so you can be ready to win at your next networking event. As a mom, your life is defined by time...how much time you have before the kids get up, the logistics involved in picking up and dropping off kids in different places at the same time, how much time you have to work on a client's project, etc. We all get the same 24 hours each day, but there are ways for mom entrepreneurs to be more productive in the little time they have. On today's show I'll share several productivity hacks to help you be more efficient and effective. Join Lara Galloway, The Mom Biz Coach on Wednesdays at 10 am ET for her 15 minute "audio blog." I'm headed to Las Vegas to speak at a private leadership retreat this weekend--woo hoo!!--and the title of my talk and workshop is "Own Your Path." I thought I'd give you a little preview of what I'll be sharing with the high-achieving women I'll be working with this weekend. What does it mean to truly own your path? Why might the results be different if we own our path versus simply following a path someone else lays out for us? I'll tell you all about it on today's episode. I was coaching a client earlier this week who told me that she had a big, tough business decision to make that was really weighing heavily on her heart. She is a mom entrepreneur who prides herself on being full of integrity and very supportive of others in her life. But the choice she had to make was going to cause her to possibly hurt someone she cared about, and she asked for me to coach her on the decision. As it turns out, her decision was already made, and she knew it was the right one, but what she really needed was something totally different. Listen in today and find out what it was. Motivation can be a tricky thing. Even though you know that you should do something, and you have planned it, declared it, and committed to it, it can still be hard to find the drive needed to get it done. Things get in the way: FEAR is often the problem, not knowing how to do something is another obstacle, and even laziness can be a stumbling block to honoring your commitments. Sometimes, a mantra like "No excuses" can be just the kick in the pants you need to get moving. But other times, as I'll share in today's episode, the way to get things done is to grant yourself permission to do the least amount possible. Listen as I share the secret that might just make your big, scary goals possible. I'm always encouraging mompreneurs to survey their audience, poll their customers, and seek feedback about their products, their services and their brand. After all, if what you're trying to sell isn't appealing to your target audience, you have little chance at making money and being successful in business (not to mention feeling fulfilled through your work). But, what happens when you get negative feedback? And what if you don't agree with it? How can you determine whether it's worth accepting and changing the way you do things, or whether you should ignore the feedback and keep going with your own preferences? Do you ever feel like you have 56 hours of work to get done in the next 24 hours? I swear, I sure do! Today is one of those days. And the natural tendency is to run around as fast as you can to try to get it all done, right? But that approach has a way of backfiring on you. Sometimes, the best way to be a more productive mompreneur is to simply stop what you're doing. What roles should you own, and which should you delegate to others? Your time is precious, so join me today when I share the 6 hats a mom entrepreneur must wear as the CEO of her business.
