On August 17, 1996 around 6 p.m. the 65-year-old father arrived at the Rosewood Boat Landing in Columbia, South Carolina. According to three witnesses, Jack was seen walking and talking to a man. It appeared as if the men knew each other. The witnesses said they heard the two men arguing. Moments later the unknown assailant had stabbed Jack multiple times in his abdomen. The mortally wounded military veteran would die at the nearby Palmetto Health Richland Hospital. The killer was described as being a Hispanic man in his mid-20s who was roughly 5 foot 5 and weighed between 150 to 180 pounds. He also had black hair and a mustache. Today, Tammy uses social media and the press to keep the story of her father Jack Robinson in the public eye.If you know anything about Jack Robinson's death, please send tips to Deputy Chief Stan Smith of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 576-3037 or contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC. On August 17, 1996, Jack L. Robinson was stabbed to death during an altercation at the Rosewood Boat Landing in Columbia, South Carolina. Witnesses reported that just after 6:00 p.m. they saw Jack and an unknown man arguing over money. As the suspect fled the scene, Jack, mortally wounded, struggled to make his way towards the witnesses for help. Rescue personnel rushed Jack to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Investigators believe Jack and his assailant knew each other but are unsure why the verbal altercation turned violent. A sketch was composited from witness descriptions implicating a Hispanic male with an olive complexion, between the ages of twenty-five to thirty-five years old. Jack’s murder remains unsolved. Jack’s daughter, Tammy Downs, will talk about the status of the investigation. The Transparency Project on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thetransparenceyproject/

In August of 1996, newly-retired Jack L. Robinson was prepared to start the next chapter of his life. After spending twenty-five years in the United States Air Force (including a stint in Vietnam) and an additional twenty years as a civil servant working at Moncrief Army Health Clinic in his hometown of Columbia, South Carolina, Jack had accomplished more than most. On an uneventful summer day, Jack went down to the Rosewood Boat Landing in his old neighborhood of Olympia. This boat ramp, which not many locals were aware of, was hidden behind the rock quarry. Yet Jack found himself there at approximately 6:00 PM on August 17th. He started talking to a younger man, and the two walked into a nearby clearing. Soon, their argument took a violent turn, and Jack was murdered at the hands of this unknown assailant. In this episode, I go through the story, and try to separate the facts from the theories. I also speak to Jack's only child, Tammy, who has kept the case alive online and in the media.  Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan MusicGraham Bole - "We Are One"Robert Farmer - "Why So Seeming Fast But So Deadly Slow"Cory Gray - "Piano (Anticipation)"Daniel James Dolby - "Broken Things"Borrtex - "Silence"
