This episode was originally published asa Patreon exclusive on 12 Jan 2020.In 2016, shocking news broke that an elderly couple were found dead in their own home in rural Co Mayo, and a younger man was found there too - badly injured. Over the following days, while family friends and the community in Irishtown grappled with the tragic news, it became clear that something very sinister had occurred in the small farmhouse. Send us a textUnion Maine is a slice of Americana, a vestige of times past, the town was pulled into the twenty-first apparently by seventeen year old Devan Young. Its been reported that the crime scene, a 100 acre island within Crawford Pond, was a brutal one, with likely DNA transfer. Devan Young purportedly inserted himself into the investigation and attempted to lead Maine State Police away from the crime scene and Sunny's body. He was ultimately arrested and charged with murder, July 16, 2025.The victim and alleged perpetrator seemingly crossed paths at Mic Mac Campgrounds on the pond, Devan Young was staying with his parents and Sunny was renting for a few weeks to get in her paddle-board fix in. What exactly lead up to this murder, is currently unknown, police are tight lipped by design in this case. A peaceful family hike turned into a nightmare at Devil's Den State Park—and tonight, we bring you exclusive eyewitness reporting that could help identify the killer. On July 26, 2025, Clinton and Cristen Brink—ages 43 and 41—were brutally murdered while hiking with their two young daughters, just 7 and 9 years old. The girls witnessed the horrific attack and are now safe with relatives. Arkansas State Police immediately launched a double homicide investigation and are now hunting for a suspect described as a white male in his 20s, seen fleeing the area in a black four-door sedan (possibly a Mazda) with a taped-over license plate. The attack took place around 2:40 PM on a popular trail at Devil's Den State Park in Washington County. But there's a new development—and it's coming straight from us at True Crime Today. Roughly an hour before the murders, another couple hiking the same trail had a chilling encounter with a man matching the suspect's description. They describe him as having bright, bloodshot eyes, stubble, wearing dark clothing and fingerless gloves, and carrying an oversized, vinyl-and-mesh “sports bag” totally out of place for hiking. He stared at them with an intensity that made their skin crawl. The moment passed—but they couldn't shake it. A peaceful family hike turned into a nightmare at Devil's Den State Park—and tonight, we bring you exclusive eyewitness reporting that could help identify the killer. On July 26, 2025, Clinton and Cristen Brink—ages 43 and 41—were brutally murdered while hiking with their two young daughters, just 7 and 9 years old. The girls witnessed the horrific attack and are now safe with relatives. Arkansas State Police immediately launched a double homicide investigation and are now hunting for a suspect described as a white male in his 20s, seen fleeing the area in a black four-door sedan (possibly a Mazda) with a taped-over license plate. The attack took place around 2:40 PM on a popular trail at Devil's Den State Park in Washington County. But there's a new development—and it's coming straight from us at True Crime Today. Roughly an hour before the murders, another couple hiking the same trail had a chilling encounter with a man matching the suspect's description. They describe him as having bright, bloodshot eyes, stubble, wearing dark clothing and fingerless gloves, and carrying an oversized, vinyl-and-mesh “sports bag” totally out of place for hiking. He stared at them with an intensity that made their skin crawl. The moment passed—but they couldn't shake it. After learning about the murders, they tried to call the sheriff's office but couldn't get through. So they came here—to tell their story. On February 17, 2000 tragedy struck Gary, Indiana. While the city of Gary is known to be a violent place, the events of this night were particularly awful. Five people were murdered across two different crime scenes, within hours of each other. The Detectives on the case quickly determined that the murders were all connected, and arrested a man named Chris Bynum for the crimes within hours, before any meaningful investigation or any forensic testing could be completed. Chris has now been in prison for these murders for 25 years, even though all evidence revealed since his trial indicates that he is most certainly innocent.
