Esja. He was discovered around 16:00 on Tuesday.✨The orca that stranded earlier this week in Grafarvogur, Reykjavík, was  euthanised. After swimming back out to sea on Wednesday, it stranded again on Friday at Kjalarnes. According to MAST's Chief Veterinary Officer, the decision was made with animal welfare as the guiding principle.✨An old Douglas Dakota aircraft, purchased this March by the landowners of Sólheimasandur from the Icelandic DC-3 Friends Association, has been transported from Keflavík Airport to rural South Iceland. The plan is to place the fuselage near the famous US Navy plane wreck, which has become one of the South Coast's most visited tourist attractions.✨ A potential disaster was narrowly avoided when a training aircraft lost its nose wheel over Austurvöllur while approaching Reykjavík Airport. “Now's the time to tell that wonderful story of the little boy. He was about two or three years old, and he went in the icebox to get some milk, and he managed to get this big carton and spill it all over the floor. Now, needless to say, there'd be a lot of parents that would react very negatively and frustrated - this mother happened to be a scientist. So she came in, she saw the bottle of milk, and what had happened. She went and got some paper towels, put them on the milk, and said, ‘Look at this. Look how the milk starts creeping up these fibers of the towel. Isn't that cool?' And then she said, ‘Look, if you have something heavy you need to get out of the refrigerator, feel free to call me. But how neat is this that  the milk is being absorbed by the towel?' Well, she was a scientist, and he became a world-class scientist. She understood his interest and she didn't bring a fear and shame-inducing reaction, and all the negative effects that could have resulted if she had handled it differently. Instead, she put a sense of joy and interest in being intrigued with his interests, and turned the whole thing around.” Episode Description: Paul starts our conversation about affects by referencing Tomkins' work, which identified 6 negative and 2 positive affects/feeling states, all of which are represented by different facial expressions in infancy. He reports on clinical work that is enhanced by locating the patient's affective surface, which enables meaningful contact within the dyad. We focus on the affect of interest and how essential it is in establishing a sense of self in the world. He also shares the many ways that this interest can be undermined by the child's environment. He describes research on the capacities of 18-month-olds and how they differ from 14-month-olds regarding the awareness of self and other. Paul also emphasizes how destructive corporal punishment is in the lives of children and in society at large. We end with the final sentence from his book, a quote from Abraham Lincoln, "We can succeed only by concert. It is not 'Can any of us imagine better?' but 'Can we all do better?' Object whatsoever is possible, still the question recurs, 'Can we do better?'   Our Guest: Paul Holinger, MD, MPH, is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, Faculty and Former Dean at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute, Training/Supervising and Child/Adolescent Supervising Analyst. In a particularly somber and intricate episode of Tall Boy Radio, host Beans delves deep into a case that continues to haunt those who knew the man at its centre and raises serious questions about official narratives. He is joined by a returning guest whose expertise in unconventional investigations is invaluable: Retired Lieutenant Commander Vernon Geberth. Together, they meticulously unpack the chilling death of Captain Gordon Hess, a case officially ruled a suicide by the military, yet one that external investigations and compelling evidence strongly suggest was, in fact, a homicide. The episode opens with Vernon setting the stage, introducing Captain Hess as a dedicated and promising officer whose life was tragically cut short. He outlines the initial military report, which concluded that Hess took his own life, and the profound disbelief and distress this ruling caused among his family and friends. It's here that Lt. Cmdr. Geberth, bringing his extensive experience in analyzing suspicious deaths and identifying inconsistencies in official findings.Beans and Geberth systematically dissect the official suicide ruling, questioning the methodologies and assumptions that led to this conclusion. They meticulously go through the crime scene details, or what there is of them, examining the circumstances of Hess's death and highlighting anomalies that were seemingly overlooked or downplayed by military investigators. This includes the positioning of the body, the nature of the injuries, and the presence (or absence) of crucial forensic evidence. Geberth, with his keen eye for detail, points out discrepancies in witness statements and the timeline of events that cast serious doubt on the suicide theory. The conversation then shifts to the independent investigations launched by Hess's family and external experts. Beans guides the discussion through the significant findings unearthed by these non-military inquiries, which painted a vastly different picture. They discuss the testimony of individuals who knew Captain Hess, revealing that he was not exhibiting signs of suicidal ideation and, in fact, had future plans that contradicted such a state of mind. Geberth offers his professional assessment of the evidence, explaining why, from an investigative standpoint, the characteristics of Hess's death are far more consistent with homicide than suicide.Beans and Geberth also touch upon the broader implications of such a disputed ruling, discussing the challenges families face when trying to challenge official military findings and the difficulties in getting a case re-examined. They ponder the reasons why the military might have been so quick to rule Captain Hess's death a suicide, raising questions about potential cover-ups or institutional inertia. Listeners will be left to consider the weight of the evidence presented, the unwavering belief of Captain Hess's loved ones, and the unsettling questions that continue to surround his untimely death. This episode of Tall Boy Radio serves as a powerful reminder that sometimes, the official story is far from the whole truth, and that justice for the fallen can be a long and arduous fight.tallboyradio.com

(From a TED talk, link at the end.)No law or regulation could stop to sell sex!Every regulation and law have made sex-workers unsafe and vulnerable:1.) For exploitation from the police, clients, pimps, and brothels.2.) Homicide through the clients, pimps, and brothels.3.) To take Drugs because of forced prostitution. 4.) Trafficking of immigrants, kids for prostitution and working under slavery.  This means the laws and regulations for prostitution were mainly created to exploit the women who like to have an extra income!!!Even if prostitution is allowed under specific rules… the laws make it unsafe…For instance, they stop a woman with condoms and when she is a not a registered prostitute she is going to jail! Makes that sex safe? Or if a female needs fast money… First, she needs to pay big money for the registration, health check… How can she pay for that? What is if you are a very poor woman from the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and you need money for your kids, and one kid needs surgery? If you make prostitution, you are a bad woman and a criminal. If your child dies, you are a bad mother! If you work in an unlawful brothel, you lose your freedom…What is if you can't sleep with everybody and want to have a choice?  As a prostitute, you don't have a choice because it is dangerous to offer your service and it is difficult to choose!  If you can't choose your customer, it is much more dangerous. If the police get you, you get raped in any case, and you will go to jail. For instance, prostitution is forbidden in Thailand, and the police are making a fortune from the prostitutes. They have to pay 6000 THB every month to the police, the bar pays 20000 THB to the police, and the police can rape them… If the prostitutes can't work together with friends or a pimp like in England, they risk getting killed by their clients. In Sweden, it is forbidden to buy sex… Every prostitute like to have protection and safety. In Sweden, the Clients are afraid to tell their name… because they don't like to get punished through the law… And again the prostitutes live dangerously… Without knowing anything from their client, the prostitutes can easily be killed. Every law and every regulation leads to exploitation and to a risk for the prostitute. Because of that, New Zealand has decriminalized prostitution…. Still, this is not good enough. A prostitute should have the same rights as any other employee! My Video: Criminalization of Sex-workers doesn't work. https://youtu.be/TSdXTYyOTKEMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast.B/Criminalization-of-Sex-workers-doesn't-work..mp3
