"I don't believe in any nonsense... but I'll keep an open mind. Out here, who knows?"In July of 1970, an Athena RTV rocket was launched from Green River, Utah. Containing the radioactive element cobalt-57, the rocket was supposed to arc harmlessly down in White Sands, New Mexico. But instead it went rogue, streaking south over the Mexican border to a desolate area near the Durango-Chihuahua state line. This location, known by many as the "Zone of Silence," has long held a reputation for the unexplained. Dating back to the 1800s, local homesteaders have claimed to witness "hot pebbles" tumbling from the sky. Planes have crashed here, meteorites fall with surprising regularity, and walkie-talkies reportedly malfunction within this sprawling desert. "Mexico's Bermuda Triangle," some have come to call it...Research by Ira RaiWriting by Amelia WhiteHosting and production by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at http://unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast, consider heading to https://www.patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron or ProducerBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.
"We have no idea how many other victims are out there, past and present."In April 2013, relatives of 53-year-old Laura Howard began to grow concerned. She wasn't responding to any phone calls, and the tone of her text messages changed. It felt as if someone else was texting with her phone. She'd even failed to pick up her son from the airport and wasn't responding to any of her neighbors' knocks at the door. Her curtains were drawn and her vehicle was missing.Police, having briefly dropped by Laura's home in April, returned again in early May. Entering inside, they were shocked at what they found: Laura's decomposing body covered with towels in her bathtub, the air conditioner set to its lowest setting. The house had been carefully staged to avoid detection for as long as possible. Missing from the scene, though, was Laura's new housemate, an enigmatic man calling himself "Simon Storm"...Research and writing by Ira RaiHosting, production, and additional writing by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at http://unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast, consider heading to https://www.patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron or ProducerBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

"I believe it was a very personal, deliberate thing."On 16 November 1987, the three-member Dardeen family returned to their rural home in Ina, Illinois after a weekend away. As Thanksgiving approached, 30-year-old Elaine, 29-year-old Keith, and 3-year-old Peter spent two days visiting with Elaine's family in nearby Albion. Elaine, nearing the end of her second pregnancy, expected to give birth to a baby girl named Casey in the near-future.Days later, though, Keith was a complete no-show for work. A usually punctual and responsible man, Keith's absence was noted by his coworkers and supervisors, who began trying to get in contact with Keith and his family. This led police to the young family's home that Wednesday evening, November 18th, where they discovered a crime scene beyond this small town's comprehension...Research, writing, hosting, and production by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at http://unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast, consider heading to https://www.patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron or ProducerBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.
Why do we keep drinking even when we know it's hurting us? For Sammie, the answer lay beneath the surface—in the pain she hadn't faced. Her story shows how unresolved trauma leads to drinking and how ignoring what hurts often feels safer than healing. Until it doesn't. In this episode, she opens up about what it took to stop numbing and start living fully. In this raw and real conversation, Annie and Sammie unpack how unresolved trauma leads to drinking and what it means to finally feel your feelings without fear. From parenting through grief to starting over at 49, Sammie's story is a powerful reminder that it's never too late to break old cycles. In this episode, Annie and Sammie discuss: Early alcohol exposure and teen drinking Losing both parents in 19 days Why drinking became her emotional escape What grief looked like in real life What made her stop for good The power of The PATH and the community Experiencing her first alcohol-free festivals Using nursing experience to help others detox safely Finding meaning in coaching and service How unresolved trauma shows up in everyday choices Why it's never too late to change And other topics… Episode links: Sammie's Sober Heroes - https://www.sammiessoberheroes.com/Start reading This Naked Mind - https://thisnakedmind.com/bookJoin The Path - https://go.tnmprograms.com/the-path-from-this-naked-mind

"There's absolutely no information in the signal."For decades now, an odd and mysterious audio signal has operated on the shortwave spectrum. Since the late 1970s, a strange pulsating sound has repeated at 4625 kilohertz. There is never a formal introduction. There are no hosts or music. Only on occasion will a voice step in, and when it does, it reads off some words and names in a monotonous Russian accent before disappearing once more.No country or agency has ever attempted to claim or explain the signal. Rumors persist about its purpose: everything from a "dead hand" nuclear deterrent controlled by the Russian government to a channel marker acting as a placeholder. However, after more than four decades, the signal's meaning remains unknown to the world at large...Research & writing by Amelia WhiteHosting, production, and writing by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at http://unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast, consider heading to https://www.patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron or ProducerBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

Most people will blame others before they will take responsibility and accountable for the choices and decisions that they make in their own lives. You keep choosing similar people because you keep thinking, feeling, and acting the same. There has been no change in you! When a person doesn't change, they remain the same, doing the same things and acting the same way! You're in your own way and your mindset is your worst enemy! The person you chose to be with may be a problem, but it's totally your fault for choosing them! You're a problem in your own life! Until inner healing happens, mindsets won't change! Therefore, people repeat cycles in their lives with no understanding as to why.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/relationships-and-relatable-life-chronicles--4126439/support.

APR. 25, 2025Resolve conflict quickly (1)"If thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother." Mt 18:15Few things in life cause more stress than unresolved conflict. It will elevate your blood pressure and consume your thoughts until you resolve it, so if you're wise, you will deal with it right away. Not all people feel this way. Even though Jesus commanded us to deal with it, many Christians refrain from saying anything for the sake of peace. Not so. Unresolved conflict will affect your peace of mind, your productivity, and your attitude toward others, so it must be dealt with. Additionally, the problem with refusing to face an issue is that it will probably occur again. So, according to an interpersonal communications adviser, do these three things: (1) "Ask God to give you His words to say so that His purpose will be achieved. 'My word...will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it' (Isa 55:11 NIV). (2) Empty your emotions out to God before engaging the offender. Emotions tend to get in the way of facts and can hinder objective thinking. This isn't as hard as it may sound once you decide you are going to make every effort to settle the issue in a harmonious way. 'If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone' (Ro 12:18 NIV). (3) Be clear as to what you perceive the problem to be. Avoid vague arguments that leave room for misinterpretation. For example, 'You need to do better' does not really clarify the problem." If your goal is to heal the relationship, God will work with you.Resolve conflict quickly "Live at peace with everyone."Share This DevotionalSend us a textSupport the showChanging Lives | Building Strong Family | Impacting Our Community For Jesus Christ!

Did you know that Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) wasn't "discovered" but actually created? A group of male psychiatrists voted to define it as a diagnosis, and women, in particular, are disproportionately labeled with it, and it's often weaponized against them. What if we told you that BPD isn't a disorder at all, but rather a logical and rational response to repressed emotions and shame caused by trauma, whether systemic or sexual? This is exactly what we're unpacking in today's episode. Join Elisabeth and Jennifer as they welcome Mollie Adler, podcaster, writer, and existential thinker, to dive deep into the issues surrounding the BPD diagnosis. Together, they discuss the stigma around BPD, the trauma as a potential cause, and how repressed emotions and shame fuel the symptoms. Also, Mollie shares her own experience of seeking a diagnosis, and why she didn't receive one. After several weeks of conducting business at a steady, manageable pace, the North Carolina General Assembly suddenly shifted into high gear. “16:30 be at the specified location. 18:30 ingest capsules, after effect protect metals await signal mask.”On 20 August 1966, a teenager was flying a kite on Vintém Hill, a rural location outside of Niterói, Brazil. He wasn't looking for anything unusual that Saturday afternoon, but partway up the hill, he discovered what looked like two mannequins. He'd rush home and tell his mother, who immediately alerted police.Hours later, authorities arrived at the scene and documented what they found: two men laying side by side on the grass, arms and legs outstretched. There was no sign of violence or a struggle of any kind. But the other objects found at the scene - including a pair of strange, homemade lead masks worn by the two men - have led to a litany of unanswered questions in the decades since...Research & writing by Amelia WhiteHosting, production, and writing by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at http://unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast, consider heading to https://www.patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron or ProducerBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

The study didn't shy away from the uncomfortabletruths. Leviticus 20 and Deuteronomy 21were examined, highlighting God's condemnation of child sacrifice and unsolvedmurders, emphasizing the community's accountability. Pastor Chris connected this to the abortiondebate, arguing that inaction in the face of such injustice constitutescomplicity. This wasn't just aboutactive participation in violence; it included the sin of omission – neglectingthe needs of others, turning a blind eye to suffering. The study referenced Exodus 22:26,emphasizing the responsibility to care for our neighbors, even to the point ofpreventing their death through neglect. PastorChris added that harboring hatred is a form of neglect, a turning away fromour responsibility to love our neighbor. The discussion extended to the concept of"murder in the heart" (Matthew 5:21-22, John 3:15), highlighting thatunjustified anger and hatred are tantamount to murder. Unresolved conflict renders worship unrighteous, emphasizing the need for reconciliation and peacemaking. Pastor Chris 5 added a crucial perspective, advocating for compassion while firmly opposing harmful actions, using abortionas a poignant example.

Resolved endings, Pamela Hansford Johnson, Vincenzo Latronico – welcome to episode 137 of Tea or Books?! In the first half of the episode, we take a suggestion from Lindsey – do we prefer resolved or unresolved endings? In the second half,
Conflict is an unavoidable part of leadership. Whether managing a team, navigating workplace dynamics, or handling high-stakes negotiations, leaders constantly face moments of tension. How they respond in these situations determines not only their effectiveness but also the success of their teams and organizations. Without the right approach, unresolved conflicts can damage morale, decrease productivity, and create a toxic work environment. Conflict resolution for leaders isn't about eliminating disagreements—it's about transforming tension into productive conversations and stronger relationships. Too often, leaders view conflict as a problem to avoid rather than an opportunity to foster collaboration and innovation. Natalia Trodhal, a Conflict Converter™ and Leadership Impact Strategist, has built her career on helping leaders reframe conflict and use it as a tool for growth. With a background in law enforcement and social services, Trodhal understands high-pressure environments where conflicts escalate quickly. Early in her career, she relied on traditional de-escalation tactics, only to realize that real transformation starts with self-regulation. Leaders who struggle with conflict often focus on controlling others rather than managing their own reactions. Trodhal's approach flips that mindset, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and a structured framework for handling workplace tension. At the core of her conflict resolution strategy is a three-step framework: Evaluate, De-escalate, and Navigate. Leaders who master these steps gain the ability to assess their own emotional responses, take control of their reactions, and guide conversations toward positive outcomes. Instead of reacting impulsively, they develop the skills to pause, assess the situation, and approach conflicts with clarity and composure. One of the biggest challenges in conflict resolution for leaders is navigating difficult conversations without triggering defensiveness. A poorly handled confrontation can escalate tensions, leading to disengagement or even turnover. Trodhal emphasizes that leaders must shift their approach from blame and control to curiosity and collaboration. Asking better questions, acknowledging different perspectives, and setting clear expectations can turn what feels like a standoff into a breakthrough moment for teams. Unresolved conflict is one of the most damaging forces in any organization. It creates resentment, stifles innovation, and erodes trust. Leaders who avoid addressing problems directly often find themselves dealing with bigger issues down the road. By approaching conflict with confidence and a proven strategy, they foster a culture where team members feel heard, respected, and motivated to contribute. The future of leadership will be defined by those who can navigate workplace challenges with confidence, emotional intelligence, and a willingness to engage in tough conversations. As workplaces evolve, remote teams grow, and AI shifts how businesses operate, human connection and strong leadership skills will remain irreplaceable. The ability to turn workplace tension into collaboration will set great leaders apart from the rest. Watch the full episode on YouTube. "Finding her body has burnt an indelible image in my mind. It is something a father should never have to suffer."On the morning of 22 October 2018, family and friends of missing 24-year-old Toyah Cordingley would scour the area around Wangetti Beach, a quiet and secluded stretch of sand not too far away from Toyah's hometown of Cairns. There - partially buried in sand dunes - Toyah's body would be found, having endured "visible, violent injuries" before her death. In the years since, police officials have remained tight-lipped about the specific details of their sprawling investigation. Five years ago this week, the COVID-19 pandemic came to the United States, and with it a level of suffering and distrust of authority (and each other) that we haven't fully reckoned with. Indeed, the pandemic was a major factor in what made Donald Trump's political comeback possible. Dr. Leana Wen, public health expert and author of the Washington Post newsletter The Checkup with Dr. Wen joins Sarah to discuss the lessons learned from the pandemic, how it changed Americans, and its implications for the future of public health.
