For years, the murders of Rhonda Travers and Kathy Perry sat stagnant without any promise of justice, but when an informant surfaced with a story about a suspect who had never before been investigated, it changed everything.“There's always names that come up in every case,” Sgt. Pierce explained. “You know, look at this one, look at that one, whatever. There's always something, though, that just doesn't fit, you know? And these people get ruled out for whatever reason. They had alibis; they had this or what have you. In these two cases, once his name surfaced, everything fit, everything.”This is Part Two of a two-part series. Our card this week is Roger "Unkle Rog" McCall, the 2 of Spades from New York. If you lived in the Rochester area back in the day, you might recognize the smooth voice of “Unkle Rog.” As a late-night radio host and DJ at WCMF for almost 30 years, perhaps he kept you company past midnight, maybe helped you stay awake during a third shift. By 52, Roger had already survived a terminal cancer diagnosis, only to be gunned down on December 12th, 2003, in what, at first, seemed to be a random act of violence. But a potential witness in the case has raised the possibility that his murder may've been more personal than previously assumed. If you have any information about the murder of Roger McCall on December 12th, 2003, detectives want to hear from you. Although we were asked to use pseudonyms for persons of interest in this episode, if any of the details or storylines sounded familiar to you, or if you can corroborate “Dan's” statement about what he said he saw that night, please reach out. You can remain anonymous by contacting Rochester Crime Stoppers at (585) 423-9300 or by submitting a tip online. To contact the Rochester PD's Major Crimes Unit directly, you can call them at (585) 428-7157 or email them at MajorCrimes@CityOfRochester.gov.View source material and photos for this episode at: thedeckpodcast.com/roger-unkle-rog-mccall Let us deal you in… follow The Deck on social media.Instagram: @thedeckpodcast | @audiochuckTwitter: @thedeckpodcast_ | @audiochuckFacebook: /TheDeckPodcast | /audiochuckllcTo support Season of Justice and learn more, please visit seasonofjustice.org.The Deck is hosted by Ashley Flowers. He was charming. He was convincing. And for more than a decade, Jeremy Bryan Jones was a shapeshifter moving through the Deep South—stealing names, slipping past suspicion, and leaving behind only victims and lies.In this week's ReWired episode, Dani pulls back the curtain on the illusion, dismantling the mythology of a drifter who turned murder into a method of survival. This isn't just a retelling of Jones's crimes—it's a confrontation with the systems, the psychology, and the societal blind spots that allowed a predator to keep moving, even as bodies piled up in his wake.We begin with a woman whose story was nearly erased—until a single moment of defiance broke the silence. Then we explore nine gripping speculative arcs, each one rewiring what we think we know:What if someone escaped? What if we could decode the mind of the monster before the damage was done? What if AI, deepfakes, and modern forensics could expose what the justice system missed? From the haunting legacy of a mother's denial to the terrifying plausibility of digital alibis, Dani peels back each layer with sharp analysis, gut-punch storytelling, and a challenge to the audience: What do we really see when we look evil in the eye? This episode will leave you disturbed, questioning, and unable to look away.

"Guys, I've got a map here... with a lot of X's."Just after 5:00 AM on 13 June 1983, police in Anchorage, Alaska arrive at a seedy motor inn on Gambell Street. Inside room 110 is a young girl huddled on the bed, barefoot, shivering, and still wearing a pair of handcuffs. Her name is Cindy Paulson, and minutes earlier she had made a run for her life.Through Cindy's extraordinary account, police link her case to a local resident, Robert Hansen. Hansen, a local baker and avid hunter, was well-known and liked by almost all who knew him, including members of the Anchorage P.D. Investigators bring him in for questioning but are ultimately forced to let him go. However, Cindy's report quickly ends up on the desk of Alaska State Trooper Glenn Flothe, who - along with some others - had been investigating the mysterious deaths of local sex workers and dancers...Part two of fourResearch, writing, hosting, and production by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at http://unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast, consider heading to https://www.patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron or ProduceBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

In this week's Revisited episode, Brian and Dani pull no punches as they dive into the chilling case of Gary Michael Hilton—the so-called “National Forest Serial Killer.” With his string of murders stretching across state lines and spanning years, Hilton's case exposes glaring gaps in communication between law enforcement jurisdictions and raises disturbing questions about how someone so unstable could fly under the radar for so long.Brian brings a procedural breakdown of the timeline, the forensic fumbles, and the legal aftermath, while Dani takes us deep into the psychological shadows—unpacking Hilton's erratic behaviors, emotional detachment, and obsession with control. The banter is sharp, the insights are real, and the stakes? As high as the Appalachian peaks Hilton once stalked. And because we're nothing if not ride-or-die for our listeners, we've got something special for you at the end of this week's episode.Stick around all the way to the end because we're dropping all three of our subscriber-only bonus segments right here in this very episode as a thank you for powering through our scheduling hiccups this week. Hey Everyone, I decided to take the week off due to family passing through Las Vegas and the holiday weekend. But never fear!!!! Please allow me to introduce to you my dear friend Megan from A Simpler Time True Crime. Her style is very similar to mine and I think you all will find that she's a new podcast to add to your list! Love y'all and see you next week! On an early Wednesday morning in 1992, a husband and father called home to check in on his family. His wife was typically on her own in the morning, managing the routine of caring for their preschooler while getting their elementary-aged son up and moving and out the door while he was at work. Appreciating that she had her hands full, he liked to call to make sure the older boy was getting out of bed and on the bus okay. His first call went unanswered, which he found odd but he dismissed his worry. But the feeling just nagged at him, so a little while later he called back. This time someone did answer, but the voice on the other end wasn't his wife. It was the voice of a three year old who simply said “Mommy's bleeding.” Those two words would jumpstart an investigation into one of the most gruesome and senseless murders the area has ever seen. Despite the circumstances, the case is hugely underreported on. Luckily, the DNA evidence means this case could soon be solved. This amazing, important and prophetic Dreamland featuring the great Jim Marrs (1943-2017) originally ran on September 4, 2010. For July 4, 2025 we reprise it with a commentary from Whitley Strieber that brings it frighteningly up to date. In 2010, Jim published a devastating book called The Trillion Dollar Conspiracy, and you will never forget the information you will get from this fiery, impassioned interview about it. Listen as Jim lays it out: there are no real political parties. It's all an illusion. And worse, the people waiting in the wings to replace the incumbents are at least as bad and probably worse. Why? The reason is simple: as Jim points out, Prince Philip, one of the leaders of the global establishment said, if he could be reincarnated after he died, he would want to come back as a deadly virus that would solve the population problem. And who is that problem? Not the folks in the limousines, you can be sure. YOU are the problem, and you need to take action to save yourselves and your children. Listen and find out not only what's wrong, but what we can do to save ourselves from an elite that is out of touch, out of control and, frankly, just plain out to lunch. Jim's website is JimMarrs.com.
In a nine-month span between 1986 and 1987, two women were found brutally slain in the same Rhode Island city. Investigators believed that the first was abducted from the side of the road on her way home from work in the middle of the night, while the second appeared to get into an unknown vehicle voluntarily. Both were found a few miles away from the locations they were last seen alive, cruelly discarded in industrial areas.Decades later, thanks to creative contemporary investigative strategies led by a bullish cold case detective, the cases were reenergized, producing new leads, new evidence, and a new suspect who had been right under the noses of law enforcement all alongIf you have any information relating to the 1986 murder of Kathy Perry or the 1987 murder of Rhonda Travers in Warwick, Rhode Island, please contact the Warwick Police Department Detective Division at (401) 468-4233.
