Since its destruction nearly 2,000 years ago, Jewish scholars have studied the second Holy Temple, which stood as the center of Jewish life until 70 C.E. Who would have thought that one of the foremost experts on the Temple and what it actually looked like would be a martial arts instructor and Expert LEGO® Builder from Minnesota. Meet Yitzy Kasowitz, founder of JBrick, maker of custom Jewish LEGO® sets and educator of Jewish communities around the world with his 1/35th scale model of the Beit Hamekdash. In advance of Yitzy's trip to Temple Beth Ahm on March 19th, Rabbi Pont sat down with Yitzy to talk all things Jewish Lego® as well as the many ways Yitzy uses his creations to help Jews around the world get in touch with their Jewish heritage.
Rabbi Yosef Kramer, Shliach to Teveria, lead a live Siyum from the Rambam's Kever. Rabbi Shmuel Lew shared memories, special moments, and inspiration connected to Takanas Harambam. Rabbi Yitzy Kasowitz, founder of JBrick.com gave a tour of the model Beis Hamikdash that he designed to be built out of LEGO bricks. The Beis Hamikdash is, of course, the theme of the entire Sefer Avodah. In the years following the establishment of Takonas Harambam, the Rebbe publicly expressed his satisfaction with the Siyumim that had been arranged to celebrate the completion of individual Seforim of Mishneh Torah. The program was hosted by Rabbi Raleigh Resnick, Shliach to the Tri-Valley, CA.

Yitzy, with a background in fine wood working and engineering and currently professionally employed as an Expert LEGO® Builder, designs the custom LEGO® sets. His wife Channie, who has a degree in finance, is the business manager.Yitzy has always dreamed of creating Jewish custom LEGO® sets. After our first product, a 3-in-1 Menorah set, sold out in just one week after launch, we were inundated with requests for more. With nothing else like it on the market, we realized that the demand for high quality Jewish toys is huge! Because we are committed to designing the highest quality sets, we only use genuine LEGO® parts. Our goal is to bring children and adults closer to their Jewish heritage through our fun products. As a father of three and a martial arts instructor, Yitzy understands the importance of connecting with learners using visually stimulating, exciting, and hands-on techniques. Jbrick uses genuine LEGO® elements for all our builds, and it is exciting for children to open a new toy knowing it's a quality, brand name product. With Jbrick custom LEGO® sets, children will receive detailed color instructions that will teach them advanced LEGO® building techniques. Be it a 3-in-1 Menorah for Chanukah or a 2-in-1 Seder Plate for Passover, our kits will occupy the recipient for hours while they build and rebuild each of the models. What's more, once built, the completed model will be a piece of art that can be displayed proudly year round. At Jbrick, our vision goes beyond creating Jewish Custom LEGO® sets. We want to use Yitzy's building skills to create large scale Jewish Custom LEGO models, such as a replica of the Beit Hamikdash (Holy Temple) to LEGO® minifig size, about 1/35 scale, a replica of the kotel, or Noah's Ark. The more this business grows, the more we will be able to create new fun and exciting custom Jewish custom LEGO® sets and models that will not only enhance Jewish learning, but will make it really fun too! Please feel free to let us know what YOU would like to see jbrick create. We love feedback!
