La Casa de la Cultura acull des d'aquest dimarts “Hotels amb memòria”, una mostra impulsada per l'Arxiu Municipal que posa en valor la història de les famílies hoteleres i el seu paper en la transformació de Lloret de Mar com a destinació turística de referència. L'exposició recull la trajectòria d'establiments emblemàtics com el Rigat, Rosamar, Delamar, Santa Marta, Anabel, Xaine, Acapulco, Guitart, Cleopatra i l'Azure de la cadena HTOP, a través de fotografies, documents històrics i obsequis que els turistes regalaven a les famílies hoteleres. L'arxiver municipal, Quim Daban, explica que la iniciativa vol “reconèixer, preservar i difondre el paper fonamental que han tingut les famílies hoteleres en la construcció del Lloret de Mar que avui coneixem”. La inauguració de l’exposició ‘Hotels amb memòria’. Una de les parts més singulars de la mostra és el recull d'anècdotes i curiositats dels primers anys del turisme a Lloret. Entre elles, destaca la història de l'Hotel Rosamar, que en la seva inauguració encara no disposava de cuina pròpia i preparava els àpats a l'Hotel Excelsior, amb un treballador que els transportava en bicicleta. Des de l'Hotel Acapulco, Damià Font ha recordat els inicis de l'establiment, quan propietaris, treballadors i turistes convivien al mateix edifici. “Compartíem aquell espai i aquella convivència va convertir l'hotel en un autèntic espai de vida compartida”, ha explicat. Per la seva banda, Maite Garriga ha recordat que el primer establiment hoteler de la família va ser l'Hotel La Palmera, construït als terrenys de l'antiga fàbrica tèxtil Sayrol, adquirida l'any 1960 per Jaume Garriga i els seus socis. També hi participa el testimoni de Josep Martí, de l'Hotel Xaine Park, que explica que antigament les habitacions tenien canelobres amb espelmes perquè els talls de llum eren habituals a causa de la inestabilitat de la xarxa elèctrica. Els llibres d’hostes, com aquest amb dedicatòria de Montserrat Caballé, formen part de la mostra. L'exposició incorpora igualment l'espai “10 documents, 10 històries turístiques”, que apropa els visitants a episodis singulars de la història turística local. “Hotels amb memòria” neix vinculada al seminari internacional “Arxius i Turisme”, que aquesta setmana celebra la seva segona edició a Lloret, centrada en l'evolució dels allotjaments turístics, des de la pensió familiar fins als grans resorts internacionals. Elon Musk se acaba de despedir de la Casa Blanca y de su proyecto personalísimo, el Departamento de Eficiencia Gubernamental, más conocido por sus siglas DOGE, c uyo objetivo era aplicar ambiciosos recortes el gasto federal. Hace unos días en un mensaje publicado en X, la red social de la que es propietario, agradeció a Trump por la oportunidad que le había dado y predijo que su iniciativa de reducción de gasto público se integrará en el trabajo diario Gobierno. Su salida no era, de cualquier modo, una sorpresa para nadie. A diferencia de lo que sucedía en febrero o marzo, Musk llevaba ya varias semanas dejándose caer muy poco por la Casa Blanca y todos descontaban que su momento había pasado. Antes de irse, Musk criticó un proyecto de presupuesto recién aprobado por la Cámara de Representantes, arguyendo que no reduciría el déficit, sino todo lo contrario. Para el presidente este presupuesto es, sin embargo, un proyecto “grande y hermoso” que, aparte de la oposición de Musk podría encontrarse con una barrera en el Senado. Trump quiere que esté listo antes del 4 de julio, que es cuando quiere anunciarlo, pero son muchos los republicanos que no terminan de verlo porque contempla mucho más gasto del que están dispuestos a tolerar. La historia de amor entre Musk y Trump comenzó hace cosa de un año. We're extremely excited to present part one of our talk with the Phil Lesh of Deerhoof, Greg Saunier. Deerhoof has been a favorite band of Brandon and me (Rob, the guy Greg keeps making fun of for saying dumb shit) for roughly 20 years. Although Deerhoof was an integral element of us becoming extremely cool dudes into challenging media that's far too intellectual for most people, I think we all agree with Greg's assessment of Deerhoof as a pop band. Of 90s/00s rock bands, it feels disingenuous to consider their noisiness more alienating than Sonic Youth, their lyrics more abstract than Pavement, or their overall vibe weirder than Bjork. Seeing Deerhoof in concert is nearly as accessible as seeing their greatest stylistic influence, the Rolling Stones.That said, the show opens with an attempt to recreate the original edit of their first 7”, The Return of the Wood M'Lady. It was quickly determined the three 8 year old boys were last seen together and they may have wondered into the woods on the edge of the neighborhood. The following afternoon police pulled the three dead boys from a drainage ditch located in the Robinhood Hills woods.
