Christmas parties can throw up a number of issues for employers. You have to feel sorry for the Business Secretary Greg Clark. The long-awaited launch of his Industrial Strategy White Paper on Monday was upstaged by the announcement of Prince Harry’s wedding. That hasn’t stopped us poring over the 255-page document. Cumbria Chamber carried out a major consultation on the Industrial Strategy Green Paper, published in January, and subsequently tabled a 34-page response reflecting what Cumbrian businesses told us.
