The Daily Mail's Richard Eden reports on “Project Thaw,” a supposed effort to soften the Sussex freeze, with Harry's security review framed as part of a wider plan that could include UK schooling for the children—prompting a pointed response from royal insider Deep Crown about the logistics and emotional reality. New claims also swirl about tension between Queen Camilla and Catherine over whether Harry deserves any path back, while separate reporting suggests Kate's friendship with Sarah Ferguson is being watched closely amid worries about leaks. Overseas, Sweden's Royal Court confirms Princess Sofia was introduced to Jeffrey Epstein around 2005, stressing she declined a Caribbean invitation and has had no contact for 20 years. We also spot a small but loaded detail at Clarence House: family photos on display include images tied to Harry and Meghan's wedding and Louis's christening. The Thomas Markle saga takes another surreal turn as The Royalist reveals claims that someone on Meghan's team suspected his leg amputation might be a hoax — a charge Thomas's friends call “disgraceful.” Meanwhile, commentator Melanie McDonagh unleashes a blistering broadside, accusing Meghan of abandoning her father in his hour of need and comparing her behavior to King Lear's most heartless daughters. Elsewhere, Prince Harry reportedly courts Jennifer Lopez for an Invictus Games cameo, while biographer Andrew Lownie suggests even the King and Princess of Wales' health woes may be worsened by the strain caused by the monarchy's “spares.” And over at Sandringham, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor digs in with an eyebrow-raising list of demands, sparking new scrutiny of royal housing perks and who pays what.Hear our new show "Crown and Controversy: Prince Andrew" here.Check out "Palace Intrigue Presents: King WIlliam" here.

Prince Harry's surprise Colbert cameo was supposed to be cute, festive, and harmless — instead, it's detonated into one of the most brutal weeks of criticism he's faced since Spare. Royal experts, PR strategists, and even late-night audiences say the Duke's jokes fell flat, his jabs at President Trump crossed a diplomatic red line, and his attempts at self-deprecating American reinvention have curdled into something “desperate.” Deep Crown calls it “irrelevance catching up.” British commentators say it was “self-harm.” U.S. audiences booed him. And palace insiders warn the fallout is severe — with fresh calls to strip Harry's titles entirely. We unpack the backlash, the political blowback, and why even sympathetic voices now say the Duke may have just closed the door on any path home.Hear our new show "Crown and Controversy: Prince Andrew" here.Check out "Palace Intrigue Presents: King WIlliam" here.

Sources tell me Prince Harry has been gently but firmly urging Meghan to reach out to her father, Thomas Markle, who remains in intensive care in the Philippines after emergency surgery. Meanwhile, insiders say Miley Cyrus had quietly been planning her own proposal—collecting ring inspo and looping in trusted friends—only for Maxx Morando to beat her to the punch with a surprise engagement. And in another corner of Hollywood, sources close to the Schwarzenegger family reveal that Christopher Schwarzenegger was privately frustrated after being mistaken online for his half-brother Joseph Baena in recent holiday photos, a mix-up he’s increasingly fed up with. Today's episode is with someone who is regarded as one of the best ski coaches on the planet, yet this is not a conversation about skiing. The things my guest has experienced over the years through teaching, coaching, and working in the mountains in unpredictable conditions hold valuable lessons for us all. Warren Smith is one of Britain's leading professional free skiers, an Internationally Qualified Performance Coach, creator of the Warren Smith Ski Academy and someone who has spent several decades helping people understand their bodies better to help them move and ski with more freedom. Warren has been a sponsored Volkl athlete for over 10 years and is one of the most innovative instructors working in the Alps and is held in high regard for the research and development he carries out combining Ski Technique, Ski Biomechanics and Ski Physiology. As well as coaching tens of thousands of recreational skiers, he is also well known for being the ski instructor that many high profile individuals seek out when wanting to improve their skills, including Prince Harry, Heston Blumenthal, Laurence Dallaglio and Bradley Wiggins. I myself have known Warren for around two decades having sought him out in my mid 20s when I first started getting into skiing because I was deeply fascinated by his philosophy, which made a lot of intuitive sense to me. In our conversation, we discuss: Why so many of us feel limited by our bodies and how simple, five-minute functional exercises can help Why differences in strength or mobility between the two sides of the body are incredibly common, and how they affect everything from skiing to running to daily movement. What Warren's injuries have taught him about resilience, patience and rehabilitation. Why fear on the mountain mirrors fear in life, and how breaking challenges into smaller steps can help us stay calm and move forward. The mental and emotional benefits of elevation and nature, and why gaining perspective from a higher vantage point can help us reset and unwind. The life lessons Warren learned from surviving an avalanche and losing friends in the mountains Warren's incredible life story from growing up in a council state to living in one of the most prestigious ski resorts in the world. This is not just a conversation about skiing, but one that reminds us that when we prepare well, stay curious and look after ourselves , we can keep doing the things we love for longer. An introduction to an obscure but powerful timing technique called recurrence transits, which occur when specific planetary alignments in the birth chart are repeated by transits in the sky, with astrologers Chris Brennan and Nick Dagan Best. Unlike standard transits that form aspects to specific points in the natal chart, a recurrence transit occurs when a planetary alignment found in a birth chart repeats in the sky between those same two planets. For example, if a person was born with a Venus-Jupiter conjunction in their birth chart, then an important event will happen in their life in the future when Venus and Jupiter again form a conjunction in the sky. The episode uses the analogy that specific planetary alignments in the birth chart act like a personal theme song; when the planets repeat the same alignment in the sky, it is as if that music starts playing again, signaling a pivotal turning point where the natal potential of the birth signature becomes awakened through a resonance between past and future. The episode opens by exploring the history and transmission of the technique, which is relatively unknown in the English-speaking world at the present time. Nick shares how he learned the method from the late Michael Lutin in the 1990s, while Chris traces potential roots back to early 20th-century German astrology and ancient Hellenistic texts like Vettius Valens. A key point emphasized early on is how these mundane planetary recurrences operate independently of aspects to natal placements, forcing a conceptual expansion of what defines a transit, and demonstrating how planetary cycles can be tied into important turning points in a life narrative even without direct contact with birth chart placements. To demonstrate the technique in practice, most of the episode is spent presenting a wide range of biographical examples as case studies, and focusing primarily on conjunctions in order to keep things simple and compelling. Case studies include the technological breakthroughs of Steve Jobs and Max Planck, the artistic peaks of Vincent van Gogh and Madonna, and the political rises and falls of figures like Richard Nixon and Joe Biden. The workshop also examines how retrogrades can both extend and intensify the importance of certain recurrence transits, as seen in the lives of Edward Snowden and Charles Manson, and we also touch on shared recurrences in relationships, such as Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. The conversation concludes with a broader philosophical discussion on what this technique implies about the nature of astrology, touching on concepts like simulation theory and the definition of astrology as a map of time. This episode serves as a comprehensive foundation for understanding recurrence transits, providing astrologers and students with a powerful, empirically driven tool for predictive work and biographical analysis that complements traditional methods. This is episode 513 of The Astrology Podcast. Nick's Website https://www.nickdaganbestastrologer.com Bonus Episode for Patrons If you enjoy this episode and are looking for more, we recorded a followup episode on recurrence transits which is available to subscribers on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/posts/secret-astrology-143901212 In the followup episode we share 16 more chart examples that didn't make it into the main episode, which allows us to go into some planetary combinations that we didn't cover previously, and also cover some new facets of the technique such as multiple planet recurrences and intergenerational recurrences.
