Kelly G. Park is a Cardinals fan from Western Kentucky, and the author of a two volume book set Just Like Me: When the Pros Played on the Sandlot. We chat favorite baseball memories, bucket list items, and what it's like to sit down and talk with greatness. Kelly also shares some of his favorite stories from dozens of interviews with former MLB, Negro Leagues, and AAGPBL players about their childhood time playing baseball. He has some fascinating insights into what these ballplayers feel like really made them successful in their careers. Kelly is also assembling fan-submitted stories to self publish his third book Just Like Me: Amateur Stories from the Sandlot. Mr. Kelly G. Park is a retired sandlot athlete, never having the skills to “take it to the next level,” but enjoying every moment of those pick-up games. Since 1988 Mr. Kelly has worked as a safety and risk manager in the insurance industry. Just Like Me: When the Pros Played on the Sandlot is the author’s debut book. Mr. Kelly lives in Benton, Ky. with his wife, Mrs. Kelly (yes, that’s right, they have the same name) and dogs Griffin and Rufus. Sons and daughters-in-law Nolan, Marissa, Grant, and Alli still have their rooms when they visit.
