"People have failure. People should know that. If they come into this and think they're going to have a 100% success—they're not. Learning from your failures makes you a better hunter. And that has to happen." — Kimmi Greentree Some of you know today’s guest because of her husband. But in a little over an hour, you’ll see she stands out on her own. Prior to my interview, I admired Kimmi Greentree's authenticity and self awareness. Her social media profiles are hilarious and I liked her. But in a very impersonal way, similar to how you might think a comedian is funny. Or how you might like to follow a social media account because they post good memes. But after this conversation, I really connected with that authenticity, and saw it being applied into the outdoors space. She doesn’t apologize for her feelings. She doesn’t apologize for not knowing something. She doesn’t apologize for disagreement, even with her husband. She doesn’t apologize for her experiences. Kimmi is Adam Greentree’s wife. Many of you will know Adam as the bowhunter who’s blown up recently. He’s been on Joe Rogan quite a bit, which I know a lot of you enjoy, as do I. I wanted to know what it’s like to have a family, and a husband who's traveling all over the globe hunting. We're going to talk life, loss, love, and more in this show. And it's a fantastic conversation. Restless Native Shirts are Still Available—But Limited We do still have a few of our shirts left. You can grab one today for $20 and shipping is free. Houston Safari Club Foundation has put $2.1 million into scholarships for hunters. That is, they are paying for scholarships to kids who are proven outdoors enthusiasts with hunting backgrounds. These are future decision makers and educators. They tackle Hunter Recruitment first hand with outdoor programs that have introduced hundreds of students to hunting experiences and career opportunities. Houston Safari Club Foundation has also provided $3.5 million in hunter-funded programs for habitat and wildlife improvements, anti-poaching and outdoor education. Hello everyone, welcome to the show. Today’s podcast is an episode I recorded with Rihanna Cary, Jessica and Braxton Byers, and my lovely cohost Kimmi Greentree. The Byers and Rihanna were down not to long ago to join me in Australia in pursuit of some of the hunting that I do on a regular basis. I thoroughly enjoyed hunting with this group of people, and am so thankful for the success that we had and how I was able to get to know each of them on a deeper level. In this episode we spend most of the time talking about Rihanna and Jessica’s testimony, particularly how the were lead into a life of hunting and a career in the hunting industry. This discussion lead us to talk about the perspectives that non-hunters have, and the general amount of knowledge that is lacked by society when it comes to what it means to be a hunter and a meat eater. This episode is made possible by Maven Optics. I believe that Maven makes a phenomenal product for a fraction of the price of comparable companies. They are also one of the few companies that does fully customized optics, and are one of the few that have a rental program for you to try before you buy. I would definitely recommend renting a pair for your next trip, I know that you will be impressed. Thank you all for tuning in.
Hey everyone, welcome to the show. On today's episode I am joined once again by Antonio Lara and Kimmi Greentree, and we discuss the many events of our recent hunting trip together. Kimmi arrowed a buck and we go into a lot of detail behind the series of events, and Antonio and I talk a lot about a hunters instinct, the connection we as hunters have with the animals we kill, and the reality of what it means to be a hunter and all the emotion and depth that comes with it. Towards the end of the podcast we bring up the recent Yeti drama with the NRA, and we share our opinion and the truth behind the matter. This podcast is made possible by Option Archery, if you haven't checked out their stuff I highly recommend it. I use their gear because I believe its the best that you can buy, and I only use equipment that I fully trust, and know will not fail me. Hope you all enjoy this episode and thanks for listening.
This week's episode is a little different. I'm joined by Sam Soholt for a recap of an epic hunt for Axis deer on the Hawaiian island of Lanai. I've been lucky to be a part of many great hunting camps over the years, but I don't think I'll ever top thins one. Sam and I were joined by John and Sharon Dudley, Cameron Hanes, Joe Rogan, Shane Dorian, Remi Warren, Adam and Kimmi Greentree and the great El Chapo. If the crew isn't enough to make this one damn awesome adventure, we added in the most switched on impossible to stalk deer on the planet. Not to mention the most delicious. Enjoy this recap and be sure to check out everyone's social media pages for all the highlights. Hey everyone, welcome to episode 8 of the Bowhunters Life Podcast. On today’s podcast, Kimmi and I sit down in our hotel room while we were at the Western Hunt Expo in Salt Lake City, Utah. We discuss a lot of the events that we attended while at the show, including Cam’s run, Eva’s work out with Mnt Ops, and the Gritty Movie Night. We talk about all the awesome and positive people that we’ve met in Utah, and how many fans have talked to us while at the show, and how grateful we are for that. We dive into a bit of the difference between conservation here in Australia compared to the States, and how easy it was to contribute to conservation while at the expo. We wrap it up by sharing with you some of the hunts that we have planned for the two of us this year. This episode is also the first for Bowhunters Life to be sponsored by some awesome companies that we love and use religiously. So big shout out and thank you to both Option Archery, and Maven Optics, for sponsoring the show, and making the podcast possible. And thank you all for listening!
Hey everyone, welcome to the show. We apologize for the lack of recent episodes, but as you may know, the family has been traveling around Australia for the last month, and trying to podcast during our road trip didn’t turn out as well as planned. Kimmi and I spent the new years here at the cabin, and recorded this episode as a recap of our trip, discuss things we liked and didn’t like, as well as what we’d do differently. Being that is is the new year, we discuss new years resolutions, and what will be coming up in 2018 from the Greentree’s as far as hunts go, sponsorships, and trips. Hope you all enjoy this episode, happy new year.
On today's episode, I once again sit down with my lovely wife Kimmi, and our close friend and fellow podcaster, April Vokey. As usual, we stay up way too late and discuss a wide range of topics, including the recent political debate on the trophy hunting ban. We all have similar opinions on the matter, and we spend most of our time on this topic. We dig into a bit of my past, and I discuss how I was introduced to bowhunting, and how it has changed my life, and how it has become a part of who I am. Out of that topic, we talk about many of the byproducts of hunting that many people do not see unless they are hunters themselves. To wrap the episode up, Kimmi reveals to me some of the hard parts of being married to a bowhunter, and we talk about how our marriage is affected by it. I appreciate you all listening, I hope you enjoy it.
In today's episode, I am joined by my lovely wife in the comfort of my home, and we had a late night discussing many of the details of my last hunts in the states. Kimmi is pretty much my biggest fan and seems to remember more of the details than I do from the last three months. We talk a bit about the anti-hunters view and Instagrams "sensitive content" on a few of my recent posts. And of course, we had to bring up my good friend Joe Rogan, and remind everybody that the once host of the show Fear Factor, is refusing to come down to Australia because he is terrified that everything here will try to eat him. Thanks for tuning in.
