Ce PPV se tenait cette nuit au Staples Center de Los Angeles et avait pour combats phares deux revanches et deux défenses de titre. En main event, TJ Dillashaw remettait son titre en jeu; celui des 135 pounds qu'il avait violemment arraché à son rival Cody Garbrandt il y a quelques mois. Les hommes se détestent; surtout Garbrandt qui ne veut pas se contenter de battre son adversaire mais bel et bien le détruire. En co-main event, c'est une éventuelle douzième défense de titre possible (et largement probable) du champion des flyweight Demetrious Johnson contre Henry Cejudo. Deuxième acte là aussi et là encore "Mighty Mouse" avait anéanti Cejudo à coups de genou lors de leur première opposition. Le reste de cet UFC 227 est Swanson/Moicano, Aldrich/Viana et Santos/Holland. On résume aussi les news avec les grosses annonces de combats faites par Dana White pour cet automne: McGregor/Nurmagomedov, Diaz/Poirier et Weidman/Rockhold notamment.
