Megyn Kelly watched the entire first season of the hit show "The Pitt" this summer. She has a lot of thoughts. She breaks down all the subtle woke messaging in hit show "The Pitt," the liberal bias that exists even in a fictional hospital drama, how the show portrays a "trans" character, the ridiculous framing about "misgendering," how the show portrays a young girl who wants to get an illegal abortion, her conservative mom portrayed as the villain, the glaringly different way the show portrays black and white people, the shocking way the show portrays a gay couple having a baby from a surrogate, the portrayal of conservatives as dumb and unsafe, and more. Czabe welcomes PAUL CHARCHIAN to the pod, as he's decamped in Minnesota for 11 days doing various fantasy football shows, appearances, drafts and more. He went to a taping of a live comedy show for Michael Che, and it quickly went off the rails when a virtue signalling white woman decided she would just tank the mood in the room. Czabe addresses your complaints about ads and sound quality. Listener feedback on college tuition going through the roof. The Patriots weren't cheating (again) but they were being pretty sneaky (and effective) when it comes to opposing FG kickers. Jonah Goldberg is not a bigot. Yet, as we all know, there are exceptions to every rule. The French are one of those exceptions. In particular, Jonah sees the cheese-eating surrender monkeys' refusal to embrace America's foremost gift to the civilized world—air conditioning—as an offense against all reason and good sense. Nevertheless, being a fair-minded man, Jonah is willing to give the French a hearing. Having no desire to talk to an actual Frenchy, however, he's turned to the next best thing: an American who lives in France. Sweat beading on his forehead, Thomas Chatterton Williams joins The Remnant not only to make apology for his adoptive country's backward ways, but to dispense his usual authoritative takes on politics and culture, covering race in France, the Rassemblement National, radical Islam, integration, accents, Woke 1, Jason Arday, 80/20 issues, policing speech, The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan, and Jonah's ideal zombie movie. Show Notes: —Francis Dearnley Remnant —TCW in The Atlantic - “France's Best Argument Against Racism Isn't Working” —Robert Nisbet - The Quest for Community —TCW - Self-Portrait in Black and White —Colin Gorrie Remnant —NYT - “A Decorated Historian's Research Comes Under Fire” —Jesse Singal in The Dispatch - “The Cascade of Dysfunction That Helped Doom Jason Arday” —Jonah's G-File on The Odyssey —Tom Holland - Dominion —Colson Whitehead - Zone One —Max Brooks: World War Z The Remnant is a production of The Dispatch, a digital media company covering politics, policy, and culture from a nonpartisan perspective. The centerpiece of this episode is DHP Episode 253: Academia is a Racket, which CJ produced back in late-February 2023, only about 6 months after he walked away from academia, after spending 22 years of his life in it (6 as a student & 16 as a teacher.) In this episode, CJ mostly avoided the lowest-hanging & widely understood defects of academia in recent decades — ie, the rise to hegemony of once-fringe (even in academia) “Woke” ideology, & the exorbitant costs to the students of getting a college “education.” Instead, drawing from his 22 years inside academia, he mostly focuses on structural (in the true sense of the word) problems inherent in the nature of the institution & the perverse incentives created thereby, which minimize the amount of education (in the true sense of the word) that takes place. Join CJ as he discusses the following problems with modern conventional academia: No real market feedback mechanism to indicate whether a “good education” is being provided. Overspecialization. Rigid credentialism. Too many courses online (especially at the intro/gen-ed level.) Excessive disability accommodations. Private-sector profiteering (off a captive audience & cartelized, non-competitive system.) Administrative bloat. A focus on arbitrary metrics that can be juked/gamed. Degree inflation. The accreditation agencies functioning as a cartel enforcer to artificially restrict entry & reduce competition. Ideology baked into most (if not all) disciplines, in many cases for over a century. The adversarial relationship often automatically created between student & teacher. State & corporate influence & control. Like this episode? Support the DHP on Patreon! Josh Goldy opens up about the devastating moment he was pulled aside on Love Island just days before the finale and learned that his sister, the person who secretly signed him up for the show, had passed away. We talk about grief and loss, overcoming trauma, heartbreak, betrayal, personal growth, and turning pain into purpose. Josh also shares how nearly losing his father and later being cheated on changed him as a man, along with his perspective on men's mental health, vulnerability, modern dating, relationships, and dating in Miami. We get into why so many men suffer in silence, what men really want from a partner, and why adversity can become fuel for self-improvement. Is the right wing's depiction of academia NOT a complete caricature? Fromer Bates College professor—and current Atlantic staff writer—Tyler Austin Harper joins Offline to break down the legacy of Woke 1 in higher education. Tyler's recent essay, "Confessions of a Token Black Professor" argues that academia's social justice fixation is just a bandaid for much larger institutional problems; he and Jon discuss how campus wokeism is the same story as that of rising tuition costs, falling admission rates, and increasing exploitation of faculty and staff.Hate listening to ads? New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 179 Woke can be summarized in a single, short way. Woke means thinking with critical theory and acting like a Leninist. That's all it really comes down to: having awakened to the alleged relevance of counter-hegemonic critical theory combined with friend-enemy tribal politics and Machiavellian permission structures. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay breaks it all down, making Woke easier than it ever has been before. (The full Dish returns on September 4. In the meantime, we are re-airing a handful of the most downloaded episodes from the early years of the Dishcast.)Charles is a writer, social scientist, and longtime friend. He currently holds the F.A. Hayek Chair Emeritus in Cultural Studies at AIE, and his many books include Losing Ground, The Bell Curve (co-authored with Richard Herrnstein), Coming Apart, Facing Reality, and Taking Religion Seriously (which we covered last year). In this May 2021 pod, he and I discussed Human Diversity — a book that received little attention compared to the others. If you think you know who Charles is from the way the MSM has portrayed him for years, this conversation may surprise you.Like Cornel West, Charles is a one-off: absurdly brave (or dumb) in wading into truly touchy subjects, and always with reason. In many ways, I think if we'd been able to have a serious debate about The Bell Curve all those years ago — and I tried to encourage one — we might have avoided some awful subsequent mistakes. But we resorted to abuse and hysteria and went on to enact Woke 1.0 and, now, Woke 2.0.Go here for a polished transcript of Charles. We also have three clips on YouTube: on the different career choices of high IQ women; the “unearned gift” of a high IQ; and IQ's irrelevance to the human worth, dignity, and essential equality of all people. The President is now beefing with Hasan Piker. God, please save us. On today's episode, the boys talk about how the internet isn't real life (or at least, shouldn't be), why we don't trust Hakeem Jeffries to do anything positive in his secret meeting with Jared Kushner, a series of republican switch ups (on data centers & AIPAC), and Ezra Klein's latest think piece about Twitter. The internet is not real life, and this merger between online political discourse and actual politics is messy, to say the least.Early access on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/headintheofficepodYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4iJ-UcnRxYnaYsX_SNjFJQSubscribe to second channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3UoTN328OA7fK2dzicP-ZATikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@headintheoffice?lang=enInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/headintheoffice/Twitter: https://twitter.com/headintheofficeThreads: https://www.threads.com/@headintheofficeDiscord: https://discord.gg/hito Collab inquiries: headintheofficepod@gmail.com(0:00) STOP TALKING ABOUT HASAN PIKER(9:30) Hakeem Jeffries meets with Jared Kushner(15:25) Mike Rogers distances himself from AIPAC(24:00) Republicans switch up on data centers(36:10) Ezra Klein, woke 1.0, conservative media bias(1:12:00) Reviews/endingSeen on this episode:Hakeem Jeffries meets with Kushner - https://www.nytimes.com/2026/08/23/us/politics/jeffries-kushner-private-meeting.html Recent GOP flip flops on AIPAC & data centers - https://www.axios.com/2026/08/22/mike-rogers-aipac-michigan-senate https://www.politico.com/news/2026/08/24/data-centers-oh-s-t-moment-01046465 https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2026/08/23/most-gop-politicians-now-talk-negatively-about-data-centers-data-shows/ https://www.axios.com/2026/08/23/greg-abbott-texas-data-centers-ai-backlash https://prospect.org/2026/08/20/mi-07-tom-barrett-scrambles-to-bury-his-data-center-past/ Ezra Klein article - https://www.nytimes.com/2026/08/23/opinion/twitter-x-woke-1-elon-musk.htmlhttps://www.cnn.com/2025/09/10/politics/relationship-charlie-kirk-donald-trump

Greg Kelly offers a strong defense of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, specifically praising his "bold" decision to terminate several high-ranking generals. Greg argues that the military currently suffers from a broken culture of deception and risk-aversion, which he believes Hegseth is successfully addressing through unconventional leadership. The broadcast features a speech from Hegseth at Quantico, where he emphasizes a return to a war-fighting ethos and rejects "woke" diversity initiatives in favor of meritocracy.

In this essay, I argue that the Fourth Awokening is exhausting itself while AI-driven white-collar displacement could produce a Fifth Awokening through a broader crisis of elite overproduction. I also examine the return of class politics, the appeal of neoreaction, whether a “woke right” really exists, Zohran Mamdani's rise, the left's inability to learn from defeat, and the political trajectory of the Palestine movement.Read the written essay: https://1dimereview.substack.com/p/the-next-awokeningYou can listen to 1Dime Radio on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get podcasts.Timestamps:0:00 The Post-Woke Age7:46 Is Woke Dead, or Is It Coming Back?14:00 The Vibe Shift19:47 AI and the Fifth Awokening26:52 Elite Overproduction in STEM32:59 The FIRE Industries and Bullshit Jobs34:41 Blue-Collar Workers and the Producer Class44:12 The Appeal of Neoreaction46:52 Is There a Woke Right?52:48 Rise of Class Politics Across Left and Right55:46 Don't Mess With the Zohran1:08:59 Why Mamdani Won1:13:39 It's Not Just Optics. So what are the lessons we should draw from this saga? We also reflect back on the broader primary season, debate Woke 1, talk data centers, and look toward November, in this first just-us-cohosts-episode.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Weekend Recap 08-22-26 Another bad weekend for leftism. Oh my goodness. Unbelievable. Look, I know woke is taking a beating, but the left is taking a beating on so many levels that I would tell you it's to call it embarrassing. Is it? It's so many things. I mean, it's on so many levels. I got a chuckle. I mean, everything is about wokeism, whether you believe it or not is about wokeism. So the LGBT thing, black thing, the climate change, all it's wokeism, shots and viruses and all this stuff. And they're backing away from it all. But I got to tell you, it's taken a beating under Trump. You can see it everywhere. You can see it everywhere. And the reason I'm bringing this up is because I heard something I'd never heard. It was called woke one. Well, DEI. dismantled. The language is changing, right? Corporations at once couldn't get through a board meeting without somebody mentioning diversity, equity, and inclusion are suddenly discovering the timeless beauty of merit. Well, we talk about it, Unified Solutions America, every single day and twice on Sundays. And now we have Democrats talking about this thing called Woke One. like Woke version 1.0, and I love it. I absolutely, it sounds like a software release. Apparently, Woke 1 was the beta version, but they found out, you ready? There were bugs, bugs in the code, bugs that even AI couldn't fix. They had a system crash. The police department stopped functioning. People discovered that men and women were somehow both the same and different depending upon which sentence you were constructing. Universities became ideological pressure cookers. Americans were instructed to evaluate virtually everything through the lens of race and gender and identity and all other crazy things that the left could think of. Welcome people. Kevin Jackson's who you're listening to, the Kevin Jackson Show, KJRadio.com. And then there was a small matter of telling people that, you ready? America's rotten. How dare you want to grow up in this country that has given everything to everybody and saved the world multiple times? And it is the most loving, giving, caring, philanthropic, humanitarian nation on the face of the earth since God invented people. And they tell you we're bad. You're rotten. You're rotten to your rotten cores, you Americans. Well, that is, unless you're a leftist. But don't worry, folks, that was woke one. We're moving on. I have a question. How many times can you get woke? Because see, this is the part I don't buy. I don't think Democrats are ushering in a new woke. I think they're waking up from woke. And you've heard me say this. I told you over the last four or five years, I told you Democrats are waking up from woke. And we used to say it when I was a kid, I mean, younger, Maybe not a kid. Like, man, you got to get woke. And it was always around black issues. Like, Kevin, you got to get with the program, man. Kevin Jackson has been called, the "white-collar" Joe Rogan. Given their similar backgrounds in TV, comedy, and martial arts, it's easy to see why people enjoy Kevin's show so much. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In this edition of the 47 Morning Update, Ben Ferguson examines two stories he argues are drawing significant public attention. First, he discusses reports that federal agents seized electronic devices belonging to former Congressman Eric Swalwell pursuant to search warrants connected to an investigation involving sexual misconduct allegations. Ferguson reviews publicly reported details, notes that Swalwell has denied the allegations, and emphasizes that no conviction has occurred. Former Congressman Eric Swalwell is facing renewed scrutiny after reports that the FBI seized electronic devices as part of an investigation tied to sexual misconduct allegations. At the same time, Nike’s long decline from its 2021 market peak is fueling another debate over brand strategy, consumer behavior, and corporate activism. The episode then turns to Nike’s stock performance and market value decline since its peak several years ago. Ferguson argues that a series of highly visible corporate and cultural decisions contributed to consumer backlash against the company. He connects Nike’s financial struggles to a broader debate over corporate activism, branding, and long-term customer loyalty. Topics Covered: Reports of FBI search warrants involving former Congressman Eric Swalwell Sexual misconduct allegations and Swalwell’s public denials The significance of electronic-device seizures in federal investigations Nike’s market value decline since its 2021 peak Consumer reactions to corporate activism and brand positioning The “go woke, go broke” argument and its impact on business debates Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. A full accounting of the initiative's impact.Back in 2024, when the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was first proposed, its goals were clear.Elon Musk said he'd attempt to cut $2 trillion from the federal budget. Like many Americans (including me) who are concerned about our debt and deficit, Musk's view was that if government spending didn't meaningfully change, the U.S. was headed for a financial crisis that would leave the country in ruins. In a November 2024 op-ed in The Wall Street Journal, he and Vivek Ramaswamy said they'd operate the new agency as “entrepreneurs, not politicians.” They framed themselves as “volunteers” rather than “federal officials or employees,” and “unlike government commissions,” they would “cut costs,” not just “write reports or cut ribbons.” They would launch this project with a comprehensive audit of the federal government's financial performance to find waste and fraud, then modernize the government to slim down the workforce. These were not vague assurances or goals. This was a specific plan, in black and white print. On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, President Trump, as Commander-in-Chief, made the decision to go to war with Iran and destroy their nuclear regime. Not Benjamin Netanyahu or anyone else. He did. But the Woke Reich neo-fascist isolationists can't accept that. In the past, Democrats and Republicans would have united behind this decision. Now, Democrats and Democratic Socialists on the left and the Woke Reich on the far right are undermining Trump and our troops. We know what the Iranian regime will do if they get their hands on nukes. We know they already fund terror groups all over the world. We know they push their ideology to the young, including right here in America. Right now, in the USA, weak governors allow fortress mosques to be built in our communities. In their hatred of Jews, the Woke Reich are ok with Iran and Putin. The Woke Reich are the modern-day appeasers of Hitler in the 1930s, but they don't have the integrity to admit it. Also, to serve in Congress is an immense honor, but then you have pigs like Eric Swalwell and Matt "No Pants" Gaetz who get elected. Then we have Jon Ossoff, running for reelection to the Senate, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth but trashes capitalism. He went after Trump over Iran and called assistant Natalie Harp and other aides "security blankets." Ossoff called his opponent Mike Collins and his supporters "White nationalists." Where was Jon when Joe Biden was curled up under the desk in the Oval Office? And name one thing he's done in the Senate? It's disgusting how people like Ossoff, Gaetz and Swalwell have conducted themselves while in office. Then, Prince Reza Pahlavi, son of the late Shah, was asked by a German journalist if he's an Israeli agent. He answered no but he's proud of his grandfather, who gave refuge to Jews while they were being burned in ovens in Germany. Pahlavi would be a great choice to lead an Iranian government-in-exile. Meanwhile, hardliners in the current regime have no intention of agreeing to any deal with the U.S. that doesn't give them control over the Strait of Hormuz. Russia, China and North Korean continue to pour weapons into Iran while we play defense. The regime is using this time to recalibrate and reinforce their police state. It's time to just finish them. Finally, a group of people that the Detroit Free Press describes as "anti-Muslim" held a protest ahead of a city council meeting in Dearborn, MI. The report wrote inflammatory statements about the protestors and said counter-protestors shouted antisemitic remarks. Democrats denounced the protest and expressed support for Muslims in Dearborn. When Trump came back into power, his administration leaned heavily on former CIA analyst Julia Curlee to help safeguard our national security. The first CIA officer to transition openly, Curlee had worked at the highest levels in the White House for years. But once her gender identity became public through a witch hunt, she was hounded out. Curlee talks with Tim about the chaos of Trump's slash-and-burn firings, the administration's demonizing of trans people, and how Mike Pence treated her with dignity and respect when she was his personal briefer. On Friday's Mark Levin Show, the pseudo-conservative, Woke Reich isolationist, and national-conservative voices are undermining the president, abandoning traditional Reaganite principles, and pushing for greater government intervention. We have an alarming near-$50 trillion on-budget debt (with true obligations including Social Security, Medicare, and pensions closer to $300–350 trillion against an economy producing only about $20 trillion annually). Such demands for more government play into Democrats' hands, and principles are needed most when confronting economic and security threats. The proper path is growth and wealth creation through freer markets, competition, and smarter regulation rather than new programs; critics should present concrete plans if they have any. Election success ultimately depends on doing what is necessary, such as the president's decisive action to prevent the Iranian regime from obtaining nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles which deserves immediate credit. Later, the Vice President has argued that free-market advocates should stop invoking the market system and instead develop a plan to help younger people avoid socialism. Traditional Reaganite and Friedman-style conservatives who back the President's tax and regulatory policies are questioning these remarks. With nearly a $50 trillion on-budget debt the real problem is too much government, not more of it, and that debate belongs in the primaries. Finally, Michele Tafoya, Minnesota Senate candidate, calls in and argues that Minnesota has been racing in the wrong direction under single-party Democrat rule, with Peggy Flanagan serving as lieutenant governor under Tim Walz for two terms during which the state became a national embarrassment. Drawing on her experience as an early WNBA play-by-play announcer who watched the league grow through women's pure skill and athleticism, she criticized the idea that biological men should compete in women's sports, noting that exclusion is fundamental to athletics and that giving roster spots to biological males simply excludes actual women in an absurd, Alice-in-Wonderland distortion.
