Tim and Mark kick things off by reminiscing about classic TV from back in the day and swapping jaw-dropping stories of radio personalities who got fired—sometimes spectacularly. Tim then tells a legendary parenting fail, recounting how a simple trip to the L.A. Zoo somehow turned into an unexpected visit to the horse track instead. The crew keeps it light with a spirited debate over favorite cereals, with Tim taking a strong stance on cereal milk and why it absolutely matters. And to close it out, Mark Thompson relives a tense moment getting pulled over, describing it like he was suddenly dropped into a scene straight out of an L.A. cop show.Retro TV, radio drama, breakfast controversies, and police-procedural energy—this Best Of is packed with classic Conway chaos.

Berlin School EM 2025 End Of Year XL Update by Erwin Broers

Oh man, what a way to end the year! Erwin has been curating excellent Berlin-school mixes for us all year and now he finishes it off with this massive end-of-the-year update. I've been in this headspace for a while now so this perfectly satisfies my craving. Thanks to Erwin for a great year of electronic mixes.   Here what he has to say about this year-ender:   "Another smorgasbord of what the electronic music scene has to offer these days and another invitation for space travelling! It's an extra long mix given my incapacity to choose from the wide offer of sublime tracks and albums that were released in 2025. The diversity in styles within this music category is remarkable; synth pop, retro, contemporary and progressive Berlin School, cosmic sound tapestries, contemplative/meditative/emotional (drone) ambient and a lengthy deep house track. Special mention for two female electronic music artists Andrea Cichecki and Lisa Bella Donna. Unfortunately, women are rare in this line of music, but these ladies more than deserve their place in this mix with thrilling evocative compositions. Check it out & enjoy your trip!"    LINKS TO ALL THE MUSIC USED IN THIS MIX: 01. https://aevanelstprojects.bandcamp.com/album/the-art-of-ae-live-2 02. https://fritzmayr.bandcamp.com/album/eye-of-the-storm 03. https://cosmiccadence.bandcamp.com/album/alien-artifacts 04. https://epigenetics.bandcamp.com/album/tunes-for-the-trip-to-alpha-centauri-2025-album 05. https://cyclicaldreams.bandcamp.com/album/everything-dies-cyd-0139 06. https://cyclicaldreams.bandcamp.com/album/gemstones-vi-cyd-0141 07. https://cyclicaldreams.bandcamp.com/album/a-sequence-of-colours-cyd-0147 08. https://sphericmusic-shop.de/gb/featured/1889-mergener-peter-chip-meditation-2025.html     https://www.groove.nl/shop/peter-mergener-chip-meditation-2025/?v=910955a907e7 09. https://moonsatellite2.bandcamp.com/album/litanie-des-songes 10. https://tronestamjohan.bandcamp.com/album/settlers 11. https://caughtinjoy.bandcamp.com/album/equilibrium-double-album 12. https://matthiaslehmann.bandcamp.com/album/autumn-rhapsody-season-quadrology-part-iv-album 13. https://sequentia-legenda.bandcamp.com/album/timeless     https://cyclicaldreams.bandcamp.com/album/timeless-cyd-0143 14. https://jimottaway.bandcamp.com/album/cosmic-odyssey 15. https://dacker.bandcamp.com/album/saudade     https://www.groove.nl/shop/dacker-skoulaman-saudade/?v=910955a907e7 16. https://lisabelladonna.bandcamp.com/album/dawn-of-a-new-age 17. https://mahorka.bandcamp.com/album/making-things-happen-netlabel-day-10th-anniversary-compilation 18. https://mattgoodluck.bandcamp.com/album/portals 19. https://phelios.bandcamp.com/album/live-at-planetarium-erkrath 20. https://unisphereerikrene.bandcamp.com/album/opus-tria 21. https://drune-music.bandcamp.com/album/beyond 22. https://joerg-dankert.bandcamp.com/album/back-to-berlin 23. https://hellomrklaus.bandcamp.com/album/angels-memento-mori 24. https://mindphaser2.bandcamp.com/album/analogue-birth-of-the-universe 25. https://tectonia.bandcamp.com/album/luna-the-moon 26. https://cyclicaldreams.bandcamp.com/album/the-vanishing-point-cyd-0145 27. https://hrresonance.bandcamp.com/album/dream-mooring 28. https://quietdetails.bandcamp.com/album/yesterday-sky 29. https://tim-stebbing.bandcamp.com/album/spacehopper 30. https://colinrayment.bandcamp.com/album/optical-perceptions 31. https://galacticsoundstation.bandcamp.com/album/music-for-the-mental-health-of-astronauts-volume-1 32. https://astro-sphere.bandcamp.com/album/fading-sun-endless-blue 33. https://jayhosking.bandcamp.com/album/the-world-will-never-survive-without-you-ambient-works Happy New Year to everyone and here's to 2026 being another fantastic year of music. On this week's episode of The Whiskey Trip, Big Chief pulls up a chair with his brother Little Feather for a no-nonsense, end-of-year sit-down rooted in family, flavor, and hard-earned opinions. With a year of miles behind them and a table full of whiskey in front of them, the brothers look back on Big Chief's 2025 Whiskey Trail while taking on the challenge of naming Whiskey of the Year and Distillery of the Year. It is part reflection, part debate, filled with laughs, brotherly jabs, and a deep respect for the craft and the people behind it. To strip away hype, labels, and reputation, the tasting is done completely blind, with all five whiskeys poured into plain mason jars. No fancy glassware and no branding, just whiskey. Each pour is judged on nose, palate, mouthfeel, finish, and balance, forcing every whiskey to stand on its own merits. The mason jars set an honest, humble tone and lead to a few surprises and some strong, unfiltered reactions. As the tasting unfolds, Little Feather flips the mic and interviews Big Chief about the highs, lessons, and standout moments from the 2025 Whiskey Trip. Between sips, they talk road miles, distillery visits, and the people who made the journey matter. The conversation naturally turns forward, with Big Chief sharing what is already taking shape for 2026, including new regions, deeper dives into the craft, and a continued commitment to giving distillers a real voice. The five whiskeys competing for Whiskey of the Year represent a wide range of styles from stops along the trail. The lineup includes Anita's Choice, a six-grain bourbon from Burnt Church Distillery; Reverence from 1845 Distilling Company; a bold Cask Strength Rye from Ponfeigh Distillery; Broken Halo Cask Strength from War Trail Distillery; and Batch 37 from Barrell Craft Spirits. With no labels to lean on, each whiskey earns praise or criticism based solely on what is in the jar. When the dust settles, Whiskey of the Year goes to 1845 Preemption Reverence, a pour that rose above the rest when judged blind for its balance, depth, and character. Distillery of the Year honors go to Trinity River Distillery, recognized not only for its whiskey but for the full experience it delivers, from immersive tours to the renovation of its historic ranch-style bean factory, along with its Whiskey Kitchen and Bourbon Nursery. Whether listeners agree with the final calls or not, this episode is about honoring the pours, the places, and the passion that keep American whiskey moving forward. Pour yourself something good, pull up a chair, and Take the Ride with Big Chief and Little Feather as they close out 2025 and set their sights on what is ahead.

In its humble beginnings, the episodes followed a strict scene-by-scene analysis and near-obsessive levels of breakdown - from the tiniest technical details such as Michael Myers' gait in Halloween 4 (1988), to theories about space-travel times and synodic planetary alignments in A Trip to Mars (1918), or the merciless tear-down of Cubby Broccoli's science facts in Moonraker (1979). While contextual analysis has always played a noticeable role in The Flick Lab, the episodes have increasingly detached themselves from technically intimate film analysis and shifted toward cultural, thematic, and socio-political readings. With this in mind, what does it all mean regarding the future of the podcast? Karri has spent extraordinary amounts of time trying to find the answer. Now, the answer has arrived. The pair also touch on topics such as obscure films, episode length, radio vs. podcasting, ignoring the audience to remain truthful to yourself, why the podcast is still here, mad and unhealthy podcast enthusiasm, reading vs. internet addiction, cynicism in cinema, and what was gained vs. what was given. Films / episodes mentioned or referenced in this episode: Andalusian Dog Apocalypse Now The Bear (TV) The Big Lebowski The Bridge Bunny the Killer Thing Call Me By Your Name The Chaser Come and See Coriolanus Corpus Christi Days Die Another Day Dirty Harry Drive My Car Elephant Sitting Still Going South Halloween Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers The Hellraiser Franchise Hong-kil dong Horses of God In the Name Of... The final stage of the 2025 Lloyds Tour of Britain marked the end of an era for British cycling. It was the final road race of Geraint Thomas's long career, taking the Welshman on roads he has ridden since he discovered cycling as a child. The stage began at the velodrome in Newport that has been named after him and finished in his home city of Cardiff. On the run-in to the line, the peloton passed the outdoor velodrome at Maindy where Geraint's journey began. From riding laps of the track as a youngster he went on to win world and Olympic titles and the 2018 Tour de France. At the start of the year, Lionel Birnie took a trip to Cardiff to meet the people who founded and built the Maindy Flyers, a club created specifically for children and teenagers to learn how to ride and race. When the club was founded, 30 years ago, there were very few clubs in the UK that truly welcomed children. In a way, the Maindy Flyers ruffled feathers and showed what was possible if young talent was encouraged and nurtured.

“Similitude” 20th-anniversary reflections Sexy time with T'Pol turns into a brainstorming session for Trip Tucker, but the neuropressure-induced euphoria won't last long. When he attempts to pull off his plan to improve engine performance, he is critically injured. Without Trip, the Enterprise has little chance of successfully completing its mission, so Doctor Phlox proposes a bold resurrection plan: growing a symbiont to harvest its tissue. As the clone rapidly matures from silent embryo to Southern drawl, it experiences a rapid ride through Trip's life, putting Archer, T'Pol, and others in a difficult position. In this episode of Warp Five, hosts C Bryan Jones and Matthew Rushing continue our 20th-anniversary retrospective that takes you through all of Star Trek: Enterprise, one episode at a time. In this installment, we continue Season 3 with “Similitude” as we discuss the importance of Trip to the mission, the ethics of Archer's decision, Sim's sacrifice, and, of course, compare and contrast with Voyager's "Tuvix." In Kevin Staples' mind, there was always a point where the trip would end. He didn't expect to get through. The goal wasn't success — it was simply to go far enough to say he'd tried. To ride up to the wall, touch it, and be told to turn back. So he kept doing exactly that. Showing up. Asking the question. Taking one more step, fully expecting it to be the last. That isn't how it played out. By the time Kevin rode his motorcycle home, the road — and the world around him — looked very different than it had when he left.

This week, we're taking a brief pause before the next regular episode drops after Christmas. For many riders, this time of year isn't about motion or miles—it's about reflection. About looking back at where we've been, the choices we made along the way, and what still lies ahead. The road doesn't always demand constant movement. Sometimes, the most important moments happen when things go quiet—when we take stock, reconnect, and remember why we ride in the first place. Wherever you are, and however you're spending these days, we appreciate you taking the journey with us. Our regular episode comes out tomorrow. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
