Over the last few years, companies have focussed on the concept of wholeness at the office, where we bring all the elements of who we are to work — our passions and strengths, our side projects and relationships, our partners and kids.Let's say we're ready to bring our whole selves to work; the next step is making sure our workplace supports this mindset. It's the proverbial “which comes first” dilemma - a supportive workplace or our own desire to be ourselves wherever we are.In this episode, I talk with Te Omeka Morehu about how he balances Culture in the office with Office culture.About the guest:By day he dabbles in cloud and infrastructure solutions, he laughs, he listens and plays the guitar in the office. By night he is a Husband, Father of 4 and doer of things around the house. He enjoys challenging himself physically in multiple disciplines, connecting with whanau at his marae and consistent learning. His big hairy audacious goal... is to enjoy life whilst living it.From guitars to cultural awareness, Te Omeka shares his views in an open and honest discussion.

What is a healthy life? Pills, Yoga, Phycadelics? It seems that life keeps us guessing when it comes to what is good for us. In this episode, we get our minds blown by Huw Jones, Te Omeka Morehu & Gareth Edwards for a slow and deep conversation about the wellness that starts within.
Te Omeka Morehu is a real-time experiment of what it means to have your mind blown. He seeks to blow his mind and body in search of a way to live that controls and incentivises the beast within all of us to work with us and not against us. From tinkering with ideas around creating a solid mental and physical mind and body to purposefully destroying those ideas and rebuilding them with new, old and forgotten knowledge. Te Omeka encapsulates the essance of 'Please Blow My Mind' and his voluntary willingness to blowing his mind and taking on the burden that comes with changing your mind - truly inspires me to be brave to create a podcast about going into the unknown, together. Te Omeka Morehu is on a journey to help us understand the emotional landscape of the people and youth in our care. This starts with understanding our own emotional landscape. In essence, it's a conversation about self-awareness, with some brutally honest parts and some hilarious parts. It's pretty Kiwi in its language so if you need a translation then hit us up.
Te Omeka Morehu made his way through the corporate world of technology starting at the very bottom. From lifting cable boxes to selling enterprise solutions, he has seen a lot in the technology space. Through his journey, there were many pitfalls including dealing with anger problems, addiction to detrimental habits and suicidal attempts. Today, Te Omeka is following his dream and working with youth to understand how his experience combined with an energy and well-being app can smash a massive dent in the suicide rates we have today and create a new stat, where NZ is celebrated for having the most youth who support and care for themselves... and each other.
