Hausaufgabe für nächste Woche: "Captain America: Brave New World" (Disney Plus) #NapalmAmMorgen

Promis ON NE SPOILE PAS ! We always claim to talk about "other nerd related media", but lately haven't done much of that. Now, with our barrage of ANDOR interviews in the rear-view mirror, we finally take some time to talk about another franchise: Jurassic Park! This dino-franchise resurrects as much as the titular dinosaurs, and this summer brings us the latest installment: Jurassic World Rebirth. Today, Chase and Gus take the time to review the latest dinosaur-film and see if having the Star Wars talents of Gareth Edwards (director of Rogue One) and Rupert Friend (the Grand Inquisitor in Obi-Wan Kenobi) can make this film soar higher than a Pterodactylus or crash harder than the last couple of Jurassic World films. In our volatile social and political climate, does this film nail the anti-capitalist/corporate messaging or does it shy away from it?Join us as we have as much fun as a T-Rex swimming while we discuss all these transgenic dinosaurs!• • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. We learned about dino DNA for the first time in 1993 with the first Jurassic Park movie. That DNA must have staying power but they're still churning out Jurassic movies 32 years later. This time, in “Jurassic World: Rebirth”, it's Scarlett Johanssen, post-Black Widow, taking the lead. She plays Zora, a merc hired by a questionable pharmaceutical rep to help a dinosaur expert get access to a forbidden area where dinosaurs still roam free. This is all to get some dino DNA to help cure heart disease. Is it worth going to the theater to find out what happens next? Check out this episode to find out! “Jurassic World: Rebirth” also stars Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacano and Ed Skrein. James Cameron-Wilson celebrates a buoyant summer box office climbing another 42% with #1 Jurassic World: Rebirth. But despite a great cast including Scarlett Johansson and director Gareth Edwards, it is very formulaic and feels like a retread of past glories. Fiona Shaw and Emma Mackey star in #11 Hot Milk but again, despite such fine actors, it is bafflingly abtruse and so little happens, you might as well see the excellent trailer which even includes the climactic scene. On Netflix, James was disappointed by The Old Guard 2. Much as he enjoyed the first spin on immortaility this one is overbudgeted, crammed full of exotic locations and leaden. Directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, Jurassic World: Rebirth is the science fiction thriller film which serves as a standalone sequel to Jurassic World: Dominion (2022), the fourth Jurassic World film, and the seventh installment overall in the Jurassic Park franchise Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet's ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind. Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) leads a team of skilled operatives to the most dangerous place on Earth whose paths cross with a vacationing family. We break down all things from rehashed plot points, the witheringly love of the prehistoric, to dinosaurs and mutations big and small.

Send us a textDinosaurs and box office numbers find a way, even when creativity doesn't. The latest Jurassic installment stomped through theaters with a staggering $318 million global opening, proving once again that this prehistoric franchise remains Hollywood's gold standard for bankable intellectual property.Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali headline Jurassic World Rebirth, bringing star power to a franchise that's circling the creative drain yet continues to draw massive audiences. We dissect what works in this seventh installment – primarily Gareth Edwards' undeniable talent for spectacular visual set pieces – and what falls flat. From the breathtaking Titanosaurus sequence in tall grass to the genuinely thrilling underwater T-Rex chase (finally realizing a sequence from Crichton's original novel), the film delivers exactly what audiences expect from the franchise: dinosaurs hunting humans in increasingly elaborate scenarios. But beneath the impressive technical achievement lies familiar franchise fatigue. Characters feel underdeveloped despite the talented cast, emotional beats are undercut by the need to move to the next set piece, and the film's structure often feels algorithmically designed to hit nostalgic beats from previous entries rather than charting bold new territory. As this film kicks off another planned trilogy, we question where the franchise can possibly go from here without completely rehashing familiar territory. We also discuss Christopher Nolan's mysterious Odyssey trailer that premiered exclusively before Jurassic World screenings and look ahead to next week's Superman release – another major franchise reboot that faces similar challenges in balancing fan expectations with creative revitalization. Can James Gunn deliver something fresh in a crowded superhero landscape, or are we destined for another case of franchise fatigue? Join us as we explore these questions and more on this week's Excuse the Intermission.Support the show

We present our review of Jurassic World Rebirth! Jurassic World Rebirth is a 2025 American science fiction thriller film directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp. A standalone sequel to Jurassic World Dominion (2022), it is the fourth Jurassic World film and the seventh installment overall in the Jurassic Park franchise. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein.Work on the film began shortly after the release of Jurassic World Dominion, when executive producer Steven Spielberg recruited Koepp to help him develop a new installment in the series. Koepp previously co-wrote the original Jurassic Park film (1993) and wrote its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997). Development of Rebirth was first reported in January 2024. Edwards was hired as director a month later, and casting commenced shortly thereafter. Principal photography took place in Thailand, Malta, and the United Kingdom from June to September 2024.Jurassic World Rebirth premiered on June 17, 2025, at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London, and was released in the United States and Canada by Universal Pictures on July 2. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with some deeming it an improvement over the previous entries. It has grossed over $322 million worldwide against a budget of $180 million, making it the tenth-highest-grossing film of 2025.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59
Director Gareth Edwards returns to Dolby Creator Talks to discuss “Jurassic World: Rebirth,” the latest installment in the iconic dinosaur franchise. He and his sound team share how they crafted the film's breathtaking sonic landscape — along with the challenges of an accelerated production schedule, and why that constraint ultimately proved creatively liberating.“Normally, on a movie like this, from the day you first get contacted… to the day you go, ‘OK, we're finished,' it's about two-and-a-half years. And this was a year-and-a-quarter! Jabez [Olssen], who's our editor, he put a quote on the door of the edit suite… It was [from] Leonard Bernstein, and it said something like, ‘Art is when you have a plan but not quite enough time.' And there was something about that idea of when there isn't time to mess around — you can't experiment like crazy, you gotta go with your first gut instinct — something interesting happens. And I'm half-tempted now, in all future contracts to make another film, to ask, ‘Whatever schedule you're considering, can you just halve it?'”—Gareth Edwards, Director, “Jurassic World: Rebirth”Joining today's conversation: - Gareth Edwards - Director - Tim Nielsen - Sound Designer and Supervising Sound Editor - Bjørn Ole Schroeder - Supervising Sound Editor - Pete Horner - Re-recording MixerBe sure to check out “Jurassic World: Rebirth,” now playing in theaters and Dolby Cinemas®, in Dolby Vision® and Dolby Atmos®.Please subscribe to Dolby Creator Talks wherever you get your podcasts. You can also check out the video for this episode on YouTube.Learn more about the Dolby Creator Lab and check out Dolby.com. The gang of thugs dons their most practical jungle gear and reluctantly boards the biotech boat for Gareth Edwards' Jurassic World Rebirth. Scarlett Johansson leads a mission to harvest dinosaur DNA in what Universal hopes is the beginning of a new trilogy—but does this franchise still have life in its genetic code, or has it gone full dino-extinct?In this episode, Pete Wright, Steve Sarmento, Tommy Metz III, Justin “JJ” Jaeger, and Mandy Kaplan unpack everything from ADR overload and missing velociraptors to why this script might have been written by a chatty AI trained exclusively on soft reboots and midday sarcasm. They examine the film's visual flatness, its confused tone, the tragic misuse of Mahershala Ali, and the shocking absence of smart kids—the emotional compass of the good Jurassic movies. There's plenty of laughter, frustration, and jalapeño cheddar popcorn as the panel debates whether the soul of this franchise can ever be resurrected. Spoiler alert: if dinosaurs had a peanut allergy, this movie would be their Snickers bar.Film SundriesWatch this on Apple or Amazon, or find other places at JustWatchTheatrical trailerLetterboxd Learn how to support our show and The Next Reel's family of film podcasts by becoming a member. On this episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast, it's time to rumble in the jungle as we had back to Jurassic Park, sorry, Jurassic WORLD for a reinvention of the franchise. For this latest reinvention, Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali are mercenaries who accompany scientist Jonathan Bailey to a forbidden island overrun by dinosaurs (as well as a few experiments) while they hunt down dino DNA for the purpose of saving lives. Gareth Edwards directs with an obvious love for the original film based on Michael Crichton's classic novel. So let's head back into the park for a review and discussion on Jurassic World Rebirth!
