Tommy and Ben talk about the growing and very real threat of President Trump attempting to take Greenland by force, the spectrum of reactions from world leaders from feckless NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to scorning French President Emmanuel Macron, and how this would lead to the end of NATO if Europeans don't stand up to the US. They also discuss how Trump's walking back of military threats to Iran led to the death of thousands of protesters, the confusing and corrupt intentions behind the “Board of Peace”, a rocky ceasefire between the Syrian government and Kurdish forces, Grok's sexualized image crisis, and a bizarre tribute to Stephen Hawking. Then, Ben speaks to Sky News Africa Correspondent, Yousra Elbagir, about Uganda's contested election. Preorder Ben's new book, All We Say: The Battle for American Identity: A History in 15 Speeches, out on May 26. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. A memoir titled Nobody's Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, written by Virginia Roberts Giuffre with journalist Amy Wallace, is scheduled for posthumous release on October 21, 2025, from Alfred A. Knopf (with Penguin Random House involved in audio and ebook editions). The 400‑page manuscript was completed prior to Giuffre's death by suicide in April 2025, and she had conveyed—via an email to Wallace dated April 1—that it was her “heartfelt wish” for the book to be published regardless of the outcome. Publishers describe the memoir as an unsparing and powerful narrative of trafficking, abuse, and survival, rigorously fact-checked and legally vetted, aimed at spotlighting systemic failures in human trafficking enforcement and championing justice and awareness.Of particular note, Nobody's Girl includes “intimate, disturbing, and heartbreaking new details” about Giuffre's experiences with Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and other high-profile individuals—including Britain's Prince Andrew. This marks her first public discussion of Andrew since their 2022 out-of-court settlement, which reportedly involved a multi-million‑dollar payment. In doing so, the memoir is expected to reignite scrutiny and media attention on the allegations Andrew has long denied, resurrecting his central role in a scandal many believed had faded from the headlines.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Prince Andrew struggling as Virginia Giuffre memoir set for release: expert | Fox NewsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.
Haley interviews Anthony D'Ambrosio, a film producer, writer, and director as well as the founder of Sherwood Fellows. This episode discusses his film Triumph of the Heart about the martyrdom of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Haley and Anthony explore the powerful medium of film and how it can shape the imagination. And they consider the importance of letting stories of heroic suffering (like Kolbe's) shape young people so that they have the tools to face suffering when it comes, accompanied by the saints and by Christ who suffers with us. I step into the studio with one question in mind: where do all of Donald Trump's many legal battles actually stand right now, especially in the courts over the past few days?Let's start with the arena that now overshadows almost everything else: the Supreme Court. Axios reports that the justices are gearing up for a series of blockbuster Trump cases this year, and some of the key moves have landed just in recent days and weeks. According to Axios, one of the biggest is Learning Resources v. Trump, the case that will decide whether Donald Trump can use a declared national emergency to impose sweeping tariffs without Congress. A recent Supreme Court docket entry shows that an emergency application tied to this dispute has been set for full argument in January, rather than decided quietly on the shadow docket, a sign the Court knows how massive the stakes are. A ruling against Trump could force the government to refund more than 100 billion dollars in tariffs and sharply limit his ability to drive economic policy through emergency powers alone, something economists at the Peterson Institute for International Economics have been closely watching. But that tariff fight is only one front. Axios also highlights Trump v. Barbara, the case over his executive order targeting birthright citizenship for children born in the United States to undocumented immigrants. Lower courts have split and issued injunctions, and now the Supreme Court is expected to decide whether a policy Trump calls essential to immigration enforcement can override more than a century of Fourteenth Amendment precedent. On the power front, Axios notes yet another Supreme Court showdown: Trump's attempt to fire independent agency officials like Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook and Federal Trade Commission officials Rebecca Slaughter and Alvaro Bedoya. The question is whether a president can unilaterally remove these figures for policy reasons, shredding a 90‑year tradition of insulation from raw politics. If Trump prevails here, the presidency's reach over watchdogs and economic regulators could expand dramatically.Zoom out from the Supreme Court, and you see the lower courts straining under wave after wave of Trump‑era litigation. Just Security and Lawfare both maintain litigation trackers showing dozens of ongoing suits targeting Trump's executive orders on everything from conditions of imprisonment to crackdowns on law firms and civil rights groups. These trackers reveal a pattern: plaintiffs argue that Trump's actions routinely stretch or shatter constitutional limits, invoking the First Amendment, due process, equal protection, and separation of powers in case after case.Politico, looking at the criminal and enforcement landscape more broadly, describes what it calls a renaissance in the use and resistance of grand juries around Trump‑related prosecutions. Veteran prosecutors told Politico they had rarely seen grand juries push back on indictments the way some have when confronted with aggressive Trump‑aligned cases, and at least one federal judge has openly criticized what she called “apparent prosecutorial machinations” tied to these efforts. Even where Trump himself is not the defendant, his policies and his Justice Department's tactics keep popping up in the courtroom record.Taken together, the last few days have not brought a single dramatic verdict with Donald Trump at the defense table, but they have tightened the vise around his presidency's legal legacy. Supreme Court calendars, emergency applications, and fresh filings in federal courts all point to 2026 as the year when judges, not voters, will finally decide how far Trump can go on tariffs, immigration, and presidential power itself.Thank you for tuning in, and come back next week for more. Read Online“I baptize with water; but there is one among you whom you do not recognize, the one who is coming after me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to untie.” This happened in Bethany across the Jordan, where John was baptizing. John 1:26–28Though John the Baptist prepared the people of Israel for the beginning of Jesus' ministry, he also prepares us to receive the fruit of that ministry and mission. One way he does this is by revealing the identity of the Messiah with great clarity.Of John, Jesus said, “Among those born of women there has been none greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he” (Matthew 11:11). This is high praise! One of the most important qualities that made John so great was his humility. It was his humility that enabled him to turn the attention of his followers away from himself and toward the Messiah.During this transitional period between the octave of Christmas and Ordinary Time, we are invited to anticipate all that this newborn King came to do in our lives. He came to set us free from all sin so that we can enter into union with Him. One of the best ways to embrace our Lord's mission is to understand who He is—His identity and mission. With John, we are invited to acknowledge the unfathomable glory of the Messiah. With John, we must profess that we are not worthy even to untie His sandal strap. In the cultural context, that function was delegated to the lowest servant in a household, who untied the master's sandals upon his return home and washed his feet. If we understand who Jesus is in relation to us, we will believe and profess that we are not worthy even to be His lowliest servant. This is the truth: in regard to worthiness, we have none in the presence of the Messiah.Once we understand and believe this truth, we will be better prepared to embrace the even more glorious truth that our King, Master, and Messiah has chosen to stoop down to wash our feet and serve us by laying down His life for our eternal salvation. He takes all our sins upon Himself and suffers their consequences, death on a cross.Without imitating and participating in John's humility, we cannot experience the depth of gratitude that we must have for Jesus' life and mission. Acknowledging our complete unworthiness with John is not demeaning, nor does it make us any more unworthy. Instead, this act of true humility prepares us for the gift that began with the Incarnation and culminated in the Ascension into Heaven.Reflect today on the humble truth of your complete unworthiness before the life and mission of the Messiah. Ponder John the Baptist as your model. Look at Jesus as John looked at Him, and believe what John believed. As you do, allow that realization to fill you with gratitude as you ponder God's choice to meet you in that lowly state so as to serve you with the gift of His very life.My glorious Lord, I am not worthy even to be Your lowest servant. Help me to understand and believe this humble truth. As I do, I offer You my utmost gratitude for choosing to meet me in that humility and to draw me to Yourself as my Messiah and King. I love You, my Lord; help me to love You more. Jesus, I trust in You.Image: Boston at English Wikipedia & John Stephen Dwyer, CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia CommonsSource of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2026 My Catholic Life! John Foley, immigration lawyer based in Boston, Massachusetts, discusses reports of increased unease in the US over President Donald Trump's immigration laws.
This episode explores what I call the miracle before the miracle of Christmas. Before Bethlehem. Before the manger. Before angels filled the sky. God was already at work. In this teaching from Luke chapter 1, we walk through the story of Zacharias and Elizabeth, the priesthood, and the grace of God that moves even when prayers feel unanswered and seasons feel barren. This is a message for anyone who has: - Remained faithful while waiting - Served God without seeing change - Wondered if time has passed them by - Felt marked by past mistakes, family history, or reproach You'll see how God's grace: - Qualifies who we think are disqualified - Answers prayers we've stopped believing for - Removes shame and restores calling - Prepares the way for His promises This message is deeply rooted in Scripture, moving from Exodus to Luke, Galatians, 1 Peter, and Revelation, revealing how God establishes a royal priesthood and remains faithful across generations. Whether you're listening during the Christmas season or any time of year, this teaching is a reminder that God is faithful, even in the waiting.
