Jim and A.Ron have seen the latest episode of Mr. Robot, Forbidden. They discuss the perils of mutual partnership and what exactly is forbidden. Whiterose decides to deviate from the plan, and Elliot needs to find a new therapist. Don't worry, you'll only have to rewatch the first three seasons twice in order to get all of the references. Hello, friend. In the opening episode of season four of Mr. Robot, Jim and A.Ron have a lot to consider. White Rose is always watching, and reminds everyone in her own way. Angela is resolute in her decision to take White Rose down, Elliot and Mr. Robot try to get ahead of W.R., and Darlene is desperate to find Angela. Jim also caught some easter eggs from one of his favorite movies, Jurassic Park. Finally, we consider feedback from our listeners.
USA’s Mr. Robot wraps things up in a very unconventional and yet extremely satisfying way in the aptly named “shutdown -r”. That’s the console command to reboot a system, in case you didn’t know, and that’s pretty much what we have here, a complete return to the beginning, with Eliot having not much to show for it other than hard won knowledge of his true enemy. Will he be able to use it to fight the Prices, White Roses, and Dark Armies of the world? Or will he be forced to accept Ms. Rose’
The latest episode of USA Network’s Mr. Robot, “eps3.8_stage3.torrent” manages to raise a lot of questions that we’re hoping to get at least some answers to for the finale next week. Has Elliot really managed to “own” the Dark Army, or is this an elaborate rope a dope once again by White Rose? Is Phillip Price really out of plays? Who’s driving the van that picks up the now super crazy Angela? Are Dom and Darlene secretly working together to out Santiago as Dark Army’s rat inside the FBI
USA Network’s Mr. Robot offers us a quieter, more introspective, but no less fascinating episode this week. A possible turning point for the series and our protagonist, as told through a meditation on suicide and death as seen through the lens of deletion. And if the material didn’t grab you, my god, the visuals. Sam goes all out and widens the scope to “Cinema” both literally and stylistically offering us one lush and well crafted scene after another.
Jim and A.Ron agree that this latest episode of USA Network’s Mr. Robot, “eps3.6_fredrick+tanya.chk”, was pretty good, but on little else beyond that. We are in violent disagreement over the direction of Angela and Tyrell, but that just makes for an exciting podcast where naked hostility seems to be lying in wait around every corner. But whether or not you think Tyrell is an actual human or if Angela is a horrifying baby person suddenly, there is a lot to discuss.
Jim and A.Ron are delighted with another suspenseful, well crafted episode of USA Network’s Mr. Robot, “eps3.5_kill-process.inc”. Great dialog, great, inventive action, solid acting and exceptional editing come together in one very satisfying package. We’re mid-season and these episodes feel like season finales! What will be coming in the weeks ahead?! Join us again next week to find out!
Jim and A.Ron were blown away by the latest real time “oner” episode of USA Network’s Mr. Robot, “eps3.4_runtime-err0r.r00”. We think the technique was employed skillfully here, increasing the drama, tension, and immediacy. We’re also left with a lot of questions regarding the state of Stage 2, Angela’s relative hacking skills, the nature of Mr. Robot’s relationship with Elliot, and we’d love to know exactly what Darlene is up to, and how much of her plan the FBI has signed off on.
Mr. Robot continues to tease out the plot for season three, as all the major players are keeping things pretty close to the vest as the circle each other, testing loyalties, telling version of the truth they think people want to hear, and sniffing for betrayals. We break down some of the most popular theories for what White Rose is cooking up with the Dark Army, talk about the possible fate of Darlene, and discuss if we’re sure we have it nailed down exactly when Elliot is Elliot and when he’s Mr. Robo

We really enjoyed newcomer Bobby Canavale’s turn as the sleazy fixer Irving, we’re loving the more bold hints of sci-fi wackadoo stuff to come, and the new relationships between Mr. Robot, Eliot, Angela and Darlene.
Jim and A.Ron sign off for 2016 on Mr. Robot, before turning our attention to Westworld, Halt and Catch Fire, and American Horror Story. But first we have to wrap things up with some final thoughts and a bunch of new listener theories and analysis. Jim and A.Ron have decided that USA’s Mr. Robot has done enough in “eps2.9_pyth0n-pt2.p7z”, to get us re-invested and excited for the potential of the next season. It’s not been a prefect season, and some of Esmail’s high risk, experimental approaches haven’t always gone as smoothly as we’d have liked, but at the end of the day, the fact that there is nothing else like it on television mitigates a lot of the frustration we’ve felt over the show’s pacing and plodding mysteries.
Jim’s getting impatient with Mr. Robot‘s stubborn refusal to give him answers, and found the multiplication of questions in this latest episode maddening. A.Ron is just excited to get to the robots, time travel, and bullet time fueled kung fu fighting. Who’s right? Will Mr. Robot satisfy our need to know in the final episode, or will it punt all substantial questions and resolution of plot lines until next season?
Jim and A.Ron take on episode 210 of USA’s Mr. Robot, “eps2.8_h1dden_pr0cess.axx”. Lots, and lots of Easter eggs this week, many of them still unsolved and mysterious at the time of our podcast recording… what does it mean? A.Ron’s hot on some of the crazier Tyrell theories, and Jim remains openly skeptical of any android/cyborg connection. One thing we agree on? Phillip Price is the worst.

It isn’t a perfect episode, and suffers from issues that may or may not bother you, but we loved it. We discuss karaoke, Mr. Robots influence on and by The Leftovers, what is up with Angela? no seriously, what is up with Angela?, Darlene finding her dark side, and we explode pacemaker theories.
