When I say the words “weight loss program” what is your response? Do any of the following statements resonate? “I’ve tried them all. Sometimes they work for a bit, but then the weight comes back.” “I just haven’t found the right one yet.” “Did someone say weight loss? Tell me more!” “I am so tired of struggling with my weight, spending heaps of time and money trying to fix this problem.” If you felt like I was reading your mind, you might be stuck in the belief that something external is necessary to achieve your health desires.
This year I’ve felt inspired to slow down, to be more present, to experience the beautiful flow of life. Above all, I’ve felt called to create space for stillness. Maybe you can relate to feeling overwhelmed, busy, and mentally obsessed with planning and doing. What aligned action steps can you take to create more ease and presence in your life?
Do you find yourself living in the future, planning and focusing on a single goal that will finally make your life amazing? If so, you are probably missing the perfection of ALL THAT IS.
Do you commonly use distraction tools (TV, technology, eating, drinking, drugs, shopping, social media) to avoid the present moment? Or does your mind constantly force you to relive the past or anticipate the future? If this is the case, perhaps it's time to practice being an observer so that you can align with the present moment.

Here we are in another holiday season and I am hearing from coworkers and friends that routines are collapsing under the weight of holiday tasks and obligations.Those of us who value our routines can feel a little uncomfortable during this period of change and increased demands on our time. But what if you decide to enter this period of transition with a plan?

Last week I discussed the possibility of liberation from conditioned self-soothing behaviors that occur in response to negatively charged emotions. In my opinion, the first step in learning this process is awareness.
We often avoid uncomfortable feelings by taking a fast track to happiness through food, shopping, drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, etc. But how do we change this automatic self-soothing behavior?
Reframing is a powerfully transformative tool. When you cultivate awareness in your current situation, you can get curious. Curiosity can lead to the ability to reframe and embrace situations that feel "gray" in order to move forward in your journey to transformation.
