Never hold a thought, never drop the Thread. Watch and listen to your mind. Notice when it's doing what it does. Notice its judgements, criticisms, projections, conclusions. Don't react. Don't respond. Don't try to stop them. Just notice. And then notice what else is present. Listen to the Silence that the thoughts are coming and going in. Feel that Silence... Joy, Love... the Bliss of the Self. When you feel this Bliss, It puts the thoughts on transparency mode (like your noise canceling headphones). Now you're no longer hypnotized by thinking... It's not the only thing you can hear. Now you can also hear the Silence! You can feel the Thread. And It feels good. Don't drop It. You have the right; it's your inner domain. But instead of finding silence, you're going to listen to incessant chatter: “Why am I doing this? I have more important things to do. This is a waste of time. There's nobody in here but me. What's this all about?” Right on cue, there's your roommate. You may have a clear intention to be quiet inside, but your roommate won't cooperate. And it's not just when you try to be quiet. It has something to say about everything you look at: “I like it. I don't like it. This is good. That's bad.” It just talks and talks. You don't generally notice because you don't step back from it. You're so close that you don't realize that you're actually hypnotized into listening to it. Basically, you're not alone in there. There are two distinct aspects of your inner being. The first is you, the awareness, the witness, the center of your willful intentions; and the other is that which you watch. The problem is, the part that you watch never shuts up. If you could get rid of that part, even for a moment, the peace and serenity would be the nicest vacation you've ever had." -Singer, Michael A.. The Untethered Soul (p. 17)

In this episode of Out of the Clouds, host Anne Mühlethaler interviews Francesca Hogi, a TED speaker, host of the Dear Franny Podcast, and internationally recognized expert on dating and relationships. She's been featured in media outlets such as The Today Show, Marie Claire, The New York Times, Harper's Bazaar and The Huffington Post, and is the founder of The True Love Society, a community for people seeking deeper self and romantic love.Anne and Francesca's conversation begins with Francesca sharing her life story, revealing how she was a deeply romantic child who devoured her older sister's romance novels, foreshadowing her future career path. She was working as a corporate lawyer when she began her journey toward love coaching by blogging about dating. She then turned to matchmaking for several years before finding her true calling as a love coach.Francesca tells Anne about her holistic approach to helping people find love. She also discusses some elements of her book, How to Find True Love: Unlock Your Romantic Flow and Create Lasting Relationships, in which she breaks down four key components for readers to establish the foundations for a true love relationship: mindset, heartset, soulset, and skillset. Francesca challenges the conventional hierarchies of love, explaining how we tend to put romantic love up on this pedestal, thinking of it as the pinnacle and then assuming failure if we don't find it in our lives. Instead, she advocates for adapting our intentions to have love through all parts of our lives. Then Anne and Francesca delve into the realities of modern dating, particularly the evolution and impact of dating apps. Francesca pointedly reminds listeners that "swiping on a dating app is not dating — going on dates is dating," and emphasises the importance of "developing the skills — because it is all skill — to be able to meet people more organically as they live their lives."Francesca explains what she asks her clients (and readers of her book) to develop more self-awareness, like: "What do I actually believe about myself when it comes to love?" and "In the love story of your life, what is the role that you play?" She highlights how many people hold beliefs about themselves and their romantic possibilities that are not truly in alignment with what they want, and these questions guide us back to our focus.Their conversation turns to exploring the deeper spiritual dimensions of finding love through what Francesca calls one's soulset: considering faith and connection to a higher power. She adds that serendipity, for example, is something that you can court intentionally, and how practicing gratitude makes you more aligned with love. She offers that having that soul-level connection and understanding our romantic energy is essential because while often we understand mind, emotion, and action, we tend to misunderstand energy. To conclude, Anne asks her favourite questions, which has Francesca share her grounding practices, in particular her daily morning and evening journaling sessions, and her love of walking in any weather. A warm, insightful, and empowering conversation that challenges conventional wisdom about modern love and offers a refreshing perspective on how to center love in all aspects of life. Happy listening!Selected links from episodeOut of the Clouds website: https://outoftheclouds.com/Out of the Clouds on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_outofthecloudsThe Mettā View website: https://avm.consulting/metta-viewAnne on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/annvi/Anne on Threads: https://www.threads.net/@annviAnne on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/anne-v-muhlethaler/Find more about Francesca at FrancescaHogi.comHer book, "How to Find True Love: Unlock Your Romantic Flow and Create Lasting Relationships"How to date with intention, Francesca's online courseFrancesca's True Love Society on Patreon  Find Francesca on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dearfrannyOn LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dearfrannyOn Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DearFrannyFollow Francesca's podcast Dear Franny on Instagram Or subscribe to the podcast on Apple Podcasts Selected links from episode:The princess industrial complex The Love Inside, a book by Jessica Faith GrahamU2 I still haven't found what I'm looking for The book  The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer This episode is brought to you by Le TrenteAre you a purpose-driven individual seeking clarity in your personal narrative? TRAPPED IN THE THREE-RING CIRCUS OF YOUR MINDYour consciousness is being hijacked right now—and you don't even realize it.While you're reading these words, an invisible tug-of-war is happening inside you. The outside world demands attention. Your thoughts race alongside. Emotions surge from nowhere. This constant pull in three directions isn't chaos—it's your default state.Michael Singer calls it the "three-ring circus," and it's the greatest magic trick ever performed: making you believe that these distractions ARE you, when in reality, they're just the show you're watching. What if everything keeping you from peace isn't something you need to fix, but something you need to stop entertaining? The truth is both simpler and more radical than most spiritual teachings dare admit: your consciousness—your true essence—is being dragged around like a dog on three leashes, and freedom isn't about gaining something new, but letting go of what never belonged to you in the first place.Ready to step outside the circus tent? Let's pull back the curtain on what's really happening in the arena of your awareness...First ring: the outside world.Everything you see, hear, feel.Open your eyes—it's there.Close them—it's gone.Your senses grab light, sound, whatever, and your mind builds the picture inside, not out there like you think.Second ring: thoughts. They're running through your head, and you're aware of them.Same consciousness that's taking in the world view - it is tracking these too.No split. You can look at something and think about it—same awareness, doing both.Third ring: emotions. Now, these aren't thoughts or thought forms. You can picture a boat in your mind, see words, hear that voice inside your head talking to you—that's thoughts.Emotions? They're different. They're vibrations, feelings, shifts in energy patterns you pick up.Not words, just raw force. But they're strong, and they latch onto your consciousness, pull it right in.So, that's the circus: the outside world you're aware of, the thoughts in your head—your mind—and the emotions coming up from your heart.Three rings, and your consciousness is stuck dealing with all of them. Here's the thing—it gets distracted by every single one.Funny how 'distraction' turns into a spiritual word, right?Deep spirituality? It's all about handling distractions. If you weren't distracted by emotions, or thoughts, or the outside world—if you could just sit still—your consciousness could drop back to its source.THE CALM LAKE REFLECTING BACK PEACE. WHEN STIRRED UP? YOU CANNOT SEE CLEARLY.The source isn't human or a “male God” manipulating the world. It's bigger, divine, universal, and always “as is” with no empotion or preference. We could dig into that later. But here's the problem: we cannot stay there. An emotion hits—boom, consciousness gets yanked to it.Thoughts kick in—'What am I supposed to do? Do I have time for this? Why'd she say that?'—and you're distracted again.Totally pulled by thoughts, emotions, objects out there shifting and moving.Your consciousness gets drawn out, away from its center, onto distracting it.Something happens outside—it sparks a thought inside, stirs up emotions. They all line up, and next thing you know, your consciousness isn't centered anymore. It's projected out onto these objects of consciousness. So this is what the three-ring circus means. In reading Living Untethered, it then balances —the witness, the three rings: senses, thoughts, emotions. The Futility of Mental Effort* The mind cannot escape itself through its own mechanisms—it's a "built-in feature." * True freedom comes from losing interest in the mind's games, not from mastering them, akin to leaving a heavy bag at the airport rather than struggling to carry it.* The body and the self are viewed as illusory, akin to a flute that doesn't play notes but allows them to pass through. * Consciousness is the underlying reality, and the self is a mental narrative claiming ownership of experiences.* This recognition negates the idea of a separate "doer" or "seer," leading to liberation from the need to seek liberation.Your absolute absence is your absolute presence... Once you start seeing this absence, it just becomes more and more obvious when you are distracted, triggered and allowing the three-ring circus. Shatter the Illusion: Question the Norms, Trust Your Inner Wisdom, and Forge Your Soul's True Path.So freeing, right? So much love to you my friend. In this episode, I break down Singer's wisdom on detaching from negative thoughts, living from your higher self, and surrendering to the flow of life and God. If you struggle with overthinking, expectations, or feeling stuck in your spiritual journey, this message will shift your perspective.

In this episode of Life Rewired, Zach and Kristina share their personal approach to goal setting as a couple, breaking down how they use New Year's Eve to reflect and set intentional goals for the year ahead. They dive into their four main goal categories—personal, financial, business, and fitness—and how focusing on at least two meaningful goals per category creates clarity and purpose. Kristina reveals how reflecting on 2024 exposed moments where she played the victim card in hard situations, and how shifting to a strength-focused, positive mindset has become her anchor word for 2025. Zach's word, alignment, serves as a guide to ensure his actions and goals align with his core values and purpose, avoiding the constant distraction that plagues many. They discuss the importance of personal development, including lessons from The Untethered Soul, Obstacle Is The Way and The Daily Stoic, and how meditation has been pivotal for building self-awareness and fostering emotional resilience. The duo underscores the critical link between understanding your "why" and following through with confidence. When you're unclear about your purpose, it's easy to falter—but with self-awareness, reflection, and a resilient mindset, you can approach your 2025 goals with unwavering commitment. This podcast episode of "Hustle and Flowchart" features a fascinating interview with Sam Ramsden, creator of the hit podcast "Silly Stories for Kids" and owner of an electrical business. Sam shares his journey from an electrical business owner to a successful podcaster. We also explore how he balances work, family, and creativity seamlessly, along with insights about his stories, inspirations, and the importance of positivity. What This Episode is About: Sam Ramsden joins us to discuss his unexpected podcasting success, how he infuses creativity into different aspects of his life, and the importance of understanding and nurturing unique family dynamics. His podcast, "Silly Stories for Kids," has taken off in unexpected ways, reaching almost 1.5 million downloads. Sam balances his electrical business, Ramp Electrical, with creative storytelling for children. He delves into his past experiences and influences, revealing how his father and father-in-law significantly impacted his trajectory. Unplanned Success Through Creativity Sam Ramsden, originally running an electrical business, never predicted the massive success of his podcast, "Silly Stories for Kids." This podcast started as a fun project for his children, encouraged by his father-in-law. It quickly gained traction, achieving nearly 1.5 million downloads within a year. Sam shares how he uses "Suno," a music AI, to create personalized songs for people at work and social gatherings, enhancing his storytelling endeavors. One interesting quote from Sam: "What started as bedtime stories has become a global phenomenon, all thanks to family encouragement and a bit of fun."  Suno Music AI: Suno The Role of Family and Personal Influences Sam's family plays a crucial role in his podcasting journey. His father-in-law suggested starting the podcast, which turned out to be a brilliant idea. Sam's passion for storytelling and creativity stems from his childhood, influenced deeply by his father. He emphasizes how positive influence and support from family members can profoundly shape one's work and creativity. Key takeaway: Supportive relationships and following one's passion can lead to unexpected success and personal fulfillment. Balancing Work, Life, and Creativity Managing an electrical business and running a successful podcast isn't easy, but Sam Ramsden does it with remarkable balance. Despite his busy schedule as a father of four, he finds joy in spontaneous creativity, often attributing it partly to ADHD, which he considers a superpower in storytelling. He shares that having a supportive wife helps him stay on track and manage his time effectively. Sam's wise words: "Balancing family, business, and creative endeavors is really about knowing what's important and giving time to those things." Handling Business Challenges Running Ramp Electrical presented many unforeseen challenges, especially during the COVID pandemic, which resulted in lost contracts and personal losses, including the passing of Sam's mother. These experiences have taught him valuable lessons about resilience and prioritization. Sam believes in learning from mistakes and emphasizes the importance of systems and processes, though he admits to needing help in consistently following them. Quote for inspiration: "Think of mistakes as lessons that guide you towards bigger success. Sometimes what not to do is just as important." Mental Health and Personal Growth Sam emphasizes the importance of mental health and seeing a psychologist to realign thoughts and provide self-grace when things don't go as planned. He compares mental health check-ups to regular servicing of a vehicle. This approach not only helped Sam maintain balance but also enabled him to bring more joy and positivity into his life and work. Key lesson: Taking care of your mental health is crucial for maintaining balance and gaining perspective, much like maintaining a vehicle to ensure it runs smoothly. Understanding and Communication Understanding one's thought processes can greatly enhance communication and empathy. Sam encourages asking others to describe their thinking processes to understand them better and reduce misunderstandings. He highlights that everyone thinks differently, and understanding this can help in fostering better personal and professional relationships. Example shared: Sam's nephew thinks in pictures, which was a revelation for Sam and helped him connect better with his nephew.  "Untethered Soul" by Michael Singer: Untethered Soul Resources from Episode Listen to Silly Stories for Kids Try Suno for yourself and send us the fun songs you create Check out the Yoto Players for your kids Conclusion Sam Ramsden's journey from an electrical business owner to a successful children's podcaster is inspiring and filled with valuable lessons. Emphasizing the importance of family, mental health, and understanding individual thinking processes, Sam's story teaches us that success often comes from following passions and staying true to personal values. Whether balancing work and life or handling business challenges, Sam's experiences offer a wealth of insights. Chapter 1:Summary of Living Untethered"Living Untethered: Beyond the Human Predicament" by Michael A. Singer explores the concepts of consciousness, freedom, and the nature of the self. Building on themes from his previous works, particularly "The Untethered Soul," Singer delves deeper into the idea of freeing oneself from the confines of the mind and ego.The book emphasizes the importance of understanding one's inner dialogue and the habitual thought patterns that often lead to emotional distress and limitations. Singer advocates for observing thoughts and feelings without attachment, allowing individuals to experience life more fully and authentically.Key concepts include:1. The Nature of Consciousness: Singer discusses how individuals can connect with their true selves beyond the incessant chatter of the mind, tapping into a deeper sense of awareness and presence.2. Letting Go: The idea of surrendering control and letting go of fears, attachments, and preconceived notions is central to living untethered. This process allows individuals to experience life without the burdens of their past.3. Freedom from the Mind: The book teaches techniques for managing the mind's tendencies, encouraging readers to become observers of their thoughts rather than being consumed by them.4. Living in the Present: Embracing the present moment is a recurring theme. Singer emphasizes that true happiness and fulfillment are found in the here and now, rather than in the past or future.5. The Power of Intention: Singer highlights the importance of setting intentions that align with one's true self, allowing for a more meaningful and aligned approach to life.Overall, "Living Untethered" serves as a guide for those seeking inner peace and liberation from the mental patterns that often dictate their lives, encouraging a more profound connection to life and existence.Chapter 2:The Theme of Living Untethered"Living Untethered: Beyond the Human Predicament" by Michael A. Singer expands on themes explored in his previous works, particularly "The Untethered Soul." While it is a non-fiction self-help book rather than a narrative with a traditional plot, it offers significant insights related to personal growth, consciousness, and the human experience. Here are some key ideas, character development concepts (in a theoretical sense since it involves personal transformation rather than character arcs), and thematic elements presented in the book: Key Ideas and Plot Points1. The Nature of Consciousness: Singer delves into the fundamental nature of consciousness and how identifying with the mind and ego can lead to a sense of suffering and disconnection from one's true self.2. Letting Go: A central tenet of the book is the practice of letting go of attachments and preconceived notions that bind individuals to their pasts. By releasing these mental and emotional burdens, individuals can experience freedom and authenticity.3. The Journey to Inner Peace: The book outlines a journey towards achieving inner peace by recognizing and transcending one's habitual thought patterns and emotional responses.4. Awareness as a Tool: Singer emphasizes the importance of cultivating awareness. By becoming aware of one's thoughts and feelings, individuals can observe them without being consumed by them, leading to greater self-understanding and emotional clarity.5. Connection to the Present Moment: Living in the present and fully engaging with life as it unfolds is a recurring theme. This connection allows individuals to experience life more fully and reduces anxiety about the future or regrets about the past.6. Universal Oneness: The notion that everything is interconnected is reinforced throughout the text. Singer encourages readers to see beyond their individual identity to recognize their place in the...

This week, we discuss the intersectionality between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We explore the reality that our thoughts are both informative, yet deceptive at times. As we explore lessons from young adulthood, we gift ourselves awareness of our thoughts, while releasing judgment towards them. We also explore a few quotes from “The Untethered Soul”, by Michael Alan Singer, and engage in a reflective exercise towards the end of the episode.Book Recommendation: “The Untethered Soul”, by Michael Alan Singerhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/1572245379/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_HBHXY9ZR00WRMYY4J30B?linkCode=ml2&tag=jasminestjo06-20Helping Professional Series:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/shots-of-serenity/id1536834239?i=1000503624440Procrastination episode that was referenced: “You're Building Resilience”https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/shots-of-serenity-helping-black-and-brown/id1536834239?i=1000661443872Thank you all so much for tuning in! 3 Keys to Managing The Voice Inside Your Head

The Daily Mastermind

Welcome back to the Daily Mastermind! Today, I want to delve into a topic that frequently arises on our podcast—the persistent voice inside your head. Many people grapple with understanding what truly goes on inside their minds. Your Internal Dialogue Throughout our life experiences and growth opportunities, we often encounter a constant inner voice. Michael Singer, in his book "The Untethered Soul," emphasizes recognizing that you are not this voice; you are the one who hears it. This voice often discourages you, distracts you, and questions your abilities. It is largely fueled by your beliefs and personal life context. The Need for Strategies Many of us understand what we need to do to develop personally, yet we fail to act. When the voice inside our heads becomes overbearing, it affects our life outcomes. This is where strategic management comes into play. Mary Lore's book, "Managing Thought," provides invaluable strategies and tactics for overcoming these mental hurdles. Key Takeaways from "Managing Thought" Mary's book presents various approaches to rethink success, refocus goals, and reframe negative thoughts, ultimately revitalizing your energy and fostering peace of mind. Chapters five and six are a "go to" for me, highlighting the separation between you and your mind's voice. The Power of Thought Management Unchecked thoughts can spiral out of control, impacting your life results. The equation is simple: thoughts create feelings, feelings drive actions, and actions yield results. However, it all hinges on managing your mental state proactively, as even those not focused on personal development can benefit from conscious thought management. Embrace the Present The present moment is your only reality. As Buddha said, "We are what we think. All that we are arises from our thoughts. With our thoughts, we remake the world." Being present and engaged is pivotal to influencing your life positively. The Three Keys to Success Self-awareness: Recognizing that you are not your thoughts is foundational. Self-mastery: Develop strategies and tactics to manage and control your thoughts. Being on purpose: Align with your passions and inspirations to fuel fulfillment and creativity. Beliefs ultimately drive actions. If your actions don't align with your stated desires, reassess whether your beliefs support your aspirations. The Role of Self-Awareness Inspirational states boost creative output and influence your thoughts and beliefs. It is crucial to question whether you are proative with your thoughts or just reactive to self-doubt and fear. Creating Effective Thought Habits Eckhart Tolle said unchecked thinking is a disease. Recognize your mind as a tool, not as something that should control you. By shifting awareness from mindless thoughts to intentional decisions, you cultivate a constructive mindset. Feelings and Feelings Your feelings are signals indicating whether you're aligned with your true purpose. Rather than identifying with your emotions, use them as feedback to navigate and adjust your mental focus. Positive Affirmations Affirmations such as "I am successful" or "I am grateful" affirm a powerful emotional state. Avoid "I want to be" or "I should be"—they lack the same potency. Pruning Your Mental Tree Managing thoughts is like pruning a tree—remove negative branches (thoughts) to foster growth. Implement strategies to eliminate mental clutter and focus on constructive thinking patterns. 17)
