The Dudes catch up on spring break stories from last week. Jeremy's detox protocol is a doozy, but you should still consider looking into doing one yourself. SVB has set the world financial markets ablaze, but what does it all mean for the future of money and global finance? Will there be more failures? How many people are truly familiar with the history of world banking or how the system actually works?Biden still hasn't signed the bill to release the origins of the "software upgrade," even though it was passed in a non-partisan unanimous 419-0 vote. Why is that? He'll sign an executive order to try and push universal background check through on his ongoing gun control hard-on, though! He'll also OK drilling in Alaska in typical flip-flop fashion.Tucker Carlson's interview on Full Send was pretty eye opening, particularly what he said about UFO's and the military families who have lost loved ones due to close contact with them. Definitely worth a listen. What's the real history of some of the world's old structures and buildings. How long have we REALLY had electricity?Follow us on Social Media! The Dudes get back to basics and review some of the latest news you won't see in lamestream media. With China supporting Russia, are we headed for World War 3? Sleepy Joe visits Kyiv instead of East Palestine, Ohio as we continue to hand over our hard earned tax dollars to the globalist puppet Zelensky. Will we ever find out what actually happened in Ohio? Something doesn't add up. What about the fallout from this vinyl chloride in the jet stream? Some interesting cold weather events have been hitting the west coast and southeast US.The Biden Administration seeks to give the World Health Organization more power and reduce US sovereignty. 15 minute cities, CBDCs, pandemic response treaties, and more. Oh my!A brief explanation of the Mouse Utopia experiment sounds eerily familiar to the direction of the United States at the moment. Scary doesn't begin to describe it.How much of your money goes to "taxes" (aka government thievery). Do you know the history of the Federal Reserve Bank and the IRS? The things they don't teach you in school...Jekyll Island, GA. Look it up.How much do We The People trust the news? The statistics will astound you. Now, James O'Keefe, Founder and Figurehead of Project Veritas has seemingly been forced out. Is nobody safe?Follow us on Social Media! We are back in 2023 with the first episode of the fourth season of Watch With Jen & it's a nice long, chatty, analytical one that's as surprisingly moving as it is filled with great Hollywood stories. RAVENOUS, OCEAN'S ELEVEN, & MATCHSTICK MEN screenwriter Ted Griffin (who also created FX's TERRIERS & produced THE WOLF OF WALL STREET) returns to the podcast to pay tribute to his old late mentor, the beloved yet still widely unsung writer-director Curtis Hanson.A man who began his career as a film critic, journalist, & photographer for "Cinema" magazine before he cut his teeth at Roger Corman's American International Pictures, Hanson went on to become a terrific director of crackerjack Hitchcockian thrillers before directing his masterpiece LA CONFIDENTIAL, & delving into more character-driven work like WONDER BOYS & IN HER SHOES.Focusing on the start of his career & rise to become a master of genre filmmaking, in this roughly ninety-minute conversation, we discuss the works THE SILENT PARTNER (adapted from a Danish crime novel by Hanson for director Daryl Duke), THE BEDROOM WINDOW, BAD INFLUENCE, THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE, & THE RIVER WILD.A heartfelt ode to Hanson - the man as well as the filmmaker - this was such a wonderful discussion & Ted Griffin went above & beyond in calling the director's old friends, family, & collaborators, including the incredible cinematographer Robert Elswit, in order to paint the most accurate portrait of Hanson. I'm so honored to be in a position to not only hear all of these stories but share them with all of you as well, & I know you'll enjoy our celebration of the life & career of the great Curtis Hanson.Originally Posted on Patreon (2/27/23) here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/79288476Logo: KateGabrielle.comTheme Music: Solo Acoustic Guitar by Jason Shaw, Free Music Archive
Another episode of the Independent Thinking Show for @FifthWrist Radio. This is a place dedicate to showcasing the great people doing interesting and cool things in the world of horology. In this episode, we are very honoured to speak with Michael Culyba , director of the excellent film "Keeper of Time". Adam (@mediumwatch) and Michael sit down for a fascinating and wide-ranging discussion about the major themes of the movie, the meaning of time itself and the many aspects of independent horological craft that Michael managed to capture so brilliantly in the film. We at FifthWrist have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to speak with some of the watch industry folks who appear in the movie, so now would be a good time to listen through our back catalog and re-acquaint yourself with the previous episodes. 00:00 - Introduction 00:00 - Free-for-All (No Free-for-All) 21:30 - Main Topic (Ministry Talk with James Metsger) Wade has friends, or at least a friend! In this episode we prove it. In episode TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN, Jason and Wade talk to Pastor James Metsger of Christ Point in Charlotte, North Carolina, one of Wade's best friends since high school. This was our first attempt at hosting a remote guest with the new equipment, and Wade was thrilled and grateful that James was able to be that first guest. While they took different paths and serve in different denominations (Wade is Lutheran and James is not Lutheran, and lets Wade refer to him as a Baptist for purposes of the episode, and because he knows from decades of experience that Wade is going to say what he wants no matter what), they both found their way into ministry. After years of talking about recording something, they finally did, and talked about their experiences and lessons learned since their days together in their youth. Jason adds perspective from his ministry as well, and gets to bond with James under the cross of friendship with Wade. We hope you enjoy the episode! We are grateful to the 1517 podcasting network. 00:00 - Introduction 00:00 - Free-for-All (No Free-for-All) 23:50 - Main Topic (Promise and Curses: Genesis 3) In episode TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN, Mike, Jason, and Wade continue the guys' discussion of anthropology. We focus especially upon the relationship between God's promise and the curses at the end of Genesis 3 and how the gospel predominates, even in this darkest moment in mankind's history, the fall into sin, when death came into the world. They also test out new equipment, which we got a while ago, but Wade just now finally figured out. We hope it improves the sound of the podcast and it will make having guests on remotely way easier, so get ready for some fun guests. We had a guest or two lined up this week, but the weather put an end to that. Please feel free to email the weather to complain. As you'll notice, we can now incorporate sound effects, too, which Wade maybe enjoys too much. For possibly the most generic ship in World of Warships, made entirely of off-the-shelf parts, the Anshan does surprisingly well. This ship takes no risks and does not rely on gimmicks, making it more friendly to play for the average or beginning player to use. The Anshan is defined by its low-skill floor, low-skill ceiling classic destroyer gameplay, which is just the way it should be for a Tier VI Premium Destroyer. Mickey listens to tales and adventures of close family friend Daniel Baldwin, truly the most interesting man in the world. Baldwin spent his youth jumping trains and hitch hiking around the country like a vagabond. He's traveled the world meeting women. Served as a pilot in the U.S. Army and flew tours across the Grand Canyon. He nearly died after being bitten by a diamond back rattle snake. Baldwin was an actor in the American cinema classic The Blues Brothers… Daniel Baldwin is a living testimony of America's rich history and freedom. The Kongō is something of a right of passage, a ship that everyone ought to play at some point in their time playing World of Warships. The ship has an interesting playstyle that teaches players the concepts in World of Warships that they will need to master in order to survive at higher tiers, making it excellent for newcomers. Very forgiving, but not invincible, yet effective when in the right hands. That's what defines the Kongō. The fact that Kongō was a historical warship is just the icing on the cake.
