Season 1 Episode 6 As the coaching profession continues to grow, it is important to address ethical considerations and needs. Because the skills course we teach at the Gateway is accredited by the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE), our focus is the ethical code provided by the organization. We encourage all coaches to work on strengthening their "ethical ears" and engage in a conversation that leads to a deeper understanding and application.
Season 1 Episode 5 If you are looking to enhance how you respond when you celebrate your client's success, this episode will help. Giving the gift is about responding in such a way that you help the other person reflect on their growth, their actions, their celebration. This helps to increase awareness, reflection, and accountability. In this episode, Katy also shares a simple and effective technique to help you move from advice-giving, which can shift the responsibility to the coach to adapting to a framework suitable for sharing education, teaching moments, and resources.
Season 1 Episode 4 As a coach educator, one of the most common questions I get asked is, "is it ever appropriate to share advice?" My answer? "It depends." Listen in to learn more about the Information Exchange Strategy framework that provides three steps to effectively teach, share educational resources, and offer the coachee extra value to help reach those all-important goals.
Season 1 Episode 3 Confidence, or the perceived lack thereof, can be something that holds people back when starting as a coach. In this episode, I want to highlight a different perspective on how you can develop your relationship with confidence.
Season 1 Episode 2 As coaches, if we don't focus on our own self-care when we are serving others, Dr. Patrick Williams said that we jeopardize our integrity when we ask others to focus on theirs. Plus, we end up with an empty glass when everyone else's is full. In contrast, if we focus on our own-self care, we will gain more time, energy, and resources to continue serving and enjoy what we do as life coaches.
