Epilogue is a storytelling project about people experiencing mental illness, addiction, trauma, and suicide loss. It was created by Producer Galen McCaw after losing his dad to suicide, with the intent of sharing stories that often go untold because of the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide. The project is in development, and our mission is to produce a series of stories like our pilot.

After his dad took his own life in 2018, Galen McCaw began interviewing people who'd lost loved ones to suicide. He hoped others could find moments of peace in the act of sharing their stories. When his friend Hannah reached out, he learned that she’d lost her sister Brie the same way six months earlier.Their first conversation about Brie spurred a year-long series of interviews with Hannah and her family, uncovering an intergenerational story of trauma, mental illness, addiction, and ultimately, resilience.Brie's story became our pilot audio documentary, and we're working on finding the resources and partnerships necessary to produce more stories like this one! If you want to support our work, you can donate here.ResourcesThis story contains references to drug use, sexual abuse, and suicide, and may not be appropriate for all audiences. On January 2nd, 2018, Producer Galen McCaw's dad Joseph took his own life. In the months following, our project formed with the intention of telling stories about those left behind when someone they love dies by suicide. Before long, we began to understand that suicide can't be talked about in a meaningful way without considering mental illness, trauma, and addiction, and the project's scope widened. We made this trailer for the initial crowdfunding campaign which funded our pilot episode. That story is about Hannah, 23, and her family, in the wake of losing Hannah's sister Brie to suicide. It’s out April 22nd. Stay tuned!
