Be careful what you wish for; you just might end up with an entire episode of Kill By Kill talking about the smash horror hit of the year, OBSESSION. That's right, we're digging into the industry aftermath, discussing the media-literacy issue online about the movie, unpacking just how broken Bear is before he ever cracks a magical branch, and then worshiping at the altar of Inde Navarrette's beautifully unhinged performance. All this, plus medicine cabinet nonsense, forgotten sitcoms, undercover Burbank, bad friends, informal werewolves, Benny Hill chases, personalized customer service, and an edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure you'll love more than anything else in the world.Save that One Wish Willow, cause your heart's desire came true with an all-new episode of Kill By Kill! Here's a Thought… #2726 with Brooks Jensen Food, Clothing, Shelter, and Artwork? Does anyone need artwork to survive? I suspect not. On the other hand, I struggle to imagine a life without art. Why is artwork so important? An even greater mystery is why making artwork is so important. If photography was for some unknown reason suddenly denied to me, I'd take up pen and ink drawing, or haiku writing, or composing really awful classical symphonies. Or buy a kazoo. Something, anything. I wonder why? What is so valuable about having art in our life? Become a member of LensWork Online and have access to all 2700+ Here's a Thought… commentaries.

It's Tuesday... what a wonderful day for a resurrection. That's right, in this redux episode, Gena and Patrick are raising the dead once again, but this time with special guest, TV and marketing bigwig Chris Donovan. Along the way, we talk about Pavlov's orgasm, the difficulty of escape while wearing bear footie slippers, the moment Jason Lives goes full Star Trek, and "the most bouncy sex" in the entire Friday the 13th canon. Plus, we connect the "art" of Rob Liefeld to Jason Voorhees and have a rebellious game of "Choose Your Own Death-venture" as we cut through a swath of counselors on our way to the Part 6 finale. Also, Patrick comes around to understanding Cort's appeal. It happened. Part of the BLEAV Network.Get even more episodes exclusively on Patreon! What happens when you want sex more often than your partner—or when your partner seems to want it more than you do? In this episode of The Men's Self-Help Podcast, Dr. John is joined by Guy Counseling contributing writer Jack for a candid conversation about mismatched sex drives in relationships. They explore why differences in sexual desire are so common and why they don't necessarily mean there's something wrong with your relationship. The conversation also gets into stress and libido, feeling rejected when your partner says no, and an important distinction that often gets overlooked: wanting sex and being comfortable initiating sex aren't necessarily the same thing. John and Jack also tackle a question plenty of couples probably wonder about but may not talk about openly: Can masturbation help when partners have different sex drives, and where does adult video fit into the picture? Other topics include scheduling intimacy, sexual "accelerators" and "brakes," nonsexual touch, emotional safety, and approaching sex as an invitation rather than a demand.
Hey everyone...welcome to our bi-monthly ENCORE PRESENTATION of classic REVOLUTIONS PER MOVIE episodes from the vault!I love this episode because my initial experience of seeing this upsetting, darkly funny film (by the director of The Brutalist) was completely thrown overboard due to my guest Logan Lynn's harmful experience within the music industry when he was younger (which is the subject of his new documentary, The Pain And The Power). A fantastic discussion on a polarizing film that's a hard watch, but never leaves you.(Episode 25 originally aired on Feb 29th 2024).ORIGINAL SHOW NOTES:This week, we talk to indie pop dance legend and Kill Rock Stars recording artist, Logan Lynn, who picked the extremely intense music narrative film, Vox Lux, to discuss. We discussed the realities and tropes of music films, Lynn's early years as a teenager on a major label, the lack of protection for young artists within creative industries, addressing addiction and trauma in your art, the notion of selling out, backstage rituals, making fun of ‘The Devil', the Swedish Pop Mafia, how music gets taken out of context, whether or not Natalie Portman a convincing pop icon in the movie and so much more.So get ready to dance through the pain on this week's Revolutions Per Movie.Logan Lynn:https://loganlynnmusic.com/youtube.com/watch?v=M3Rkoe_UlR4REVOLUTIONS PER MOVIE:Host Chris Slusarenko (Eyelids, Guided By Voices, owner of Clinton Street Video rental store) is joined by actors, musicians, comedians, writers & directors who each week pick out their favorite music documentary, musical, music-themed fiction film, or music videos to discuss. Zach Zucker joins Shane Torres and Katherine Blanford for an absolutely unhinged episode of Coastal Idiots! Zach talks about the decade-long journey of turning Stamp Town into a Netflix special, the anxiety of finally getting his dream opportunity, and why he believes comedy desperately needs more risk-takers. He also breaks down the strange world of clown and Buffon, explains why Sacha Baron Cohen is a perfect example of the art form, and gets brutally honest about his complicated relationship with the modern clown scene. Somewhere along the way, the gang discusses bisexual biceps, eating Legos, getting naked on stage, disgusting old costumes, road rage with rubber chickens, and plays a chaotic round of Two Truths and a Lie: Stage Edition featuring some of the wildest stage stories we've heard yet! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Coastal Idiots is a weekly comedy podcast where each week your host Shane and Katherine are joined by a friend or two where they do something very stupid and hilarious. Follow Katherine and Shane so they have a reason to keep going. The show is produced by the marvelous Keida Mascaro. Some of the art on the walls by the great Perry Shall. Music by Gymshorts and Alex Orange Drink. Your favorite idiots are now available wherever you listen to podcasts! If you're looking for one of the best viewing experiences of your life, we've got the movie for you! This week, we're bringing you a vital, much-needed addition to the Child's Play/Chucky canon: the 1996 Bollywood musical version entitled PAPI GUDIA! Here to help us nail the choreo are two Returning Champions from Inside the Idiot Box, Dennis Satterfield and Scot Burklin! Along the way, we ask why this possessed doll breathes so hard, conjure a Morning Zoo Crew out of the cast, explore the beauty of a mid-film dance number, and reconstruct the complicated romantic backstory between our lead characters. All this, plus giant actresses, Trog connections, great suspect drawings, decorative vests, Chani POV, sudden Prince syndrome, meet the new Voodoo Joe, and dance right into an all-new edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure. And although it has never been publicly released, the director and the band let us watch it so we can discuss it for you! Got it yet?!?!?We talk about why the finished film never reached eyes outside of a few friends in Australia, Evan's early punk rock roots, the fear of being reviewed on Pitchfork, not being able to get into the venue to see Fugazi and Scratch Acid (so you listen to them outside), the amazing punk scenes and punk labels happening all around the world right now, alternative DIY spaces, being the oldest person at the show (at age 27), Turnstile, how The UV Race has no wikipedia page/follows no one back on social media/embraces broken web links, the poetry of front man Marcus, the mystery surrounding the director Johann Rashid and his film inluences as a child which influenced his filmmaking, Courtney Barnett, the self-depricating tone of the film, the cameos from members of Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Dick Diver & Total Control, the soundtrack for the unreleased film, blowing the band money at the Greyhound Track, how the structure of the film is bascially The Blues Brothers ("I've got to get the band back together"), how the film is built upon the band's inner workings/language and sense of humor, Marcus' other band Hot Tubs Time Machine, their also unseen Sci-Fi followup: THE UV RACE DISGRACE SPACE, and we pitch a new film to complete their filmic trilogy.EVAN MINSKER:see-saw.funTHE UV RACE: intheredrecords.com/collections/the-uv-race/products/autonomy-deliberationREVOLUTIONS PER MOVIE:Host Chris Slusarenko (Eyelids, Guided By Voices, owner of Clinton Street Video rental store) is joined by actors, musicians, comedians, writers & directors who each week pick out their favorite music documentary, musical, music-themed fiction film, or music videos to discuss. This week we're heading into the Arizona desert for Ghost Brothers: Lights Out Season 1, Episode 5 – "Ghost Town Throw Down." How do you stop being so afraid? Tracy Twombly had such a strong phobia of spiders, it was messing with her life — stressing her out while she was working at her native plant nursery or hiking through the woods. So, she embarked on a journey to make peace with her eight-legged neighbors (even the extra hairy ones). This is a special episode from the Up From Dust podcast, produced by the NPR Network, KCUR Studios, and the Kansas News Service.Artwork for this episode by, Jessica Cornelison

People have a very strange idea of entertainment... and we qualify! That's right, we're deep in the heart of Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives, and we're thrilled to bring on comedian Adam Peacock (seen on Netflix's I Think You Should Leave and the host of the My Neighbors Are Dead podcast) to talk about three minor characters with major issues. In this episode, we consider racist trail marker lesson plans, decide what to name our favorite alcoholic beverages, announce Jason Voorhees as the latest Harlem Globetrotter, and attempt to unpack two of the most insane costuming choices ever presented on film. Plus, we make terrible day camp plans for “Jeremy” and play a superb round of Choose Your Own Deathventure. Also, there's a weird echo that floats around the audio at points. Do you constantly tell yourself you should be doing better, that you must have everything figured out, or that life ought to be different? In this episode of The Men's Self-Help Podcast, Dr. John Moore explores the psychology of musterbation, a concept developed by psychologist Albert Ellis and central to Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). You'll discover how rigid self-talk can quietly fuel anxiety, guilt, anger, shame, and emotional exhaustion—and learn a practical three-step approach for challenging those destructive internal rules. You'll also hear from Matt, a listener who isn't sure he's ready to marry the woman he's been dating. Dr. John discusses the difference between outside pressure and genuine readiness, why unresolved conflict deserves attention, and how premarital counseling can help couples make one of life's biggest decisions with greater clarity. Whether you're struggling with perfectionism, relationships, or impossible expectations, this episode offers practical tools you can begin using today. Comedian Kelsey Cook joins Katherine and Shane for an episode that winds down the road of sobriety and terrible old jobs to dementia, active shooters, and the surprisingly cutthroat world of professional foosball. Kelsey reminisces about leaving Los Angeles for Minnesota, shooting her Netflix special Happy Hour that drops September 18, growing up with professional foosball players for parents, and the savage days when she'd hustle unsuspecting guys at foosball by pretending she didn't know how to play. Word to the wise, never assume an unsuspecting person at the foosball table won't leave with your wallet, mortgage and your pride! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Coastal Idiots is a weekly comedy podcast where each week your host Shane and Katherine are joined by a friend or two where they do something very stupid and hilarious. I razz him for using "brutally honest" in descriptions of two separate projects, but I love Brandon Ogborn. I know the comedian, playwright, podcaster, and reluctant "content creator" from our days on the same improv team at iO Chicago, Sports Team. Reminiscing about that time is the closest I get to nostalgia, and even then, Bubba had stories that made all our eyes pop out of our skulls. He's continued to amass stories as a parent of two young kids he makes fun of on Instagram, and now he's turned his parenting and growing up stories into a one-man stage show, SAHD (Stay-At-Home Dad). It's a funny, personal piece full of heart and the idiosyncrasies that make Brandon such a joy to know. You should see it in L.A. if you can (details below). Either way, enjoy this little slice of Brandon. We talk about: his dead dad, ADHD, growing up Christian nationalist in the Midwest, out-of-body experiences vs. astral projection, people outgrowing homophobia, the accuracy of Pixar's Soul, reckoning with the statistical unlikelihood of Hollywood success. Also, there is one f-slur and a very quick mention of child sexual abuse. This Is Your Afterlife is made possible by listeners like you on Patreon. There's a circle of wood in the middle of the stage at the Grand Ole Opry House. They cut it out of the floor of the Ryman and carried it over when the Opry moved, so that anybody standing in the middle of that stage is standing on the same boards Hank stood on.This week, I get to stand on it.These are a few thoughts I have about that. About my ten years in Nashville, an Opry debut, and the two songs I'm playing — including one called "Shoulders," which is about the fact that I didn't get anywhere by myself. It's about my dad, who's been a fan since before there was anything to be a fan of. It's about a kid at home who was born in May and is going to learn what a life looks like by watching mine.Somebody carries it forward so you can stand on it. Setting out the stories of the week ahead… The shocking death of Jason Arday reignites questions about the press's relentless pursuit of the story, Cambridge University and Simon & Schuster's failure to properly look into the academic's life story, and the general public's prurient curiosity. In this episode of Community Pulse, the hosts explore why storytelling is one of the most valuable skills in Developer Relations. Through examples from conference talks and internal product meetings, they show how relatable stories capture attention and make ideas more memorable than lists of facts alone. The episode shares practical insights on using storytelling to better engage audiences, advocate for developers, and communicate customer feedback effectively, while also discussing when a simple, fact-based approach is appropriate. Start… your… engines! That's right, we're back on the GRINDHOUSE beat for volume 2 as we strap ourselves down and feel the rush of 2007's DEATH PROOF. Along the way, we delve into the complicated backstory of what motivated this project to take shape, compare how the two halves of the movie relate to one another, explore why QT can't let go of his video store clerk character, and explore Tarantino's competing slasher film attempts. All this, plus the Millennial Nasties decade, “pick me” characters, Kurt Russell worship, Austin dining guides, KNB group gore, and a pedal to the metal edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure. Sometimes you don't need a conspiracy, historical disaster, serial killer, or three hours of research to make a podcast. Sometimes you just need three friends, a microphone, and a bunch of questions with no good answers. This week, the Sofa King Podcast takes on Would You Rather. The questions start simple enough: money or freedom? Your dream house or dream car? Perfect memory or the ability to forget anything you want? Would you go back to 18 knowing everything you know today, or take $5 million right now? But as usual, things don't stay serious for very long. Before it's over, we're debating horse-sized ducks, armies of tiny horses, aggressive animals, embarrassing bodily functions, terrible superpowers, and a collection of scenarios that reveal way more about a person than they probably intended. And somewhere between all the stupidity, a few surprisingly good questions emerge. Would you rather have more money or more time? Be successful but never around, or have less and actually enjoy your life? Know exactly how your story ends, or live without knowing what's coming next? That's the weird thing about Would You Rather. Ask the right question and a stupid party game suddenly tells you a lot about the people answering it. There are no right answers this week—but there are definitely some wrong ones. Listen along, pick your answers before Brad, Brent, and Dave give theirs, and then let us know which decisions we completely screwed up. And send us your best Would You Rather questions. We may use them the next time we play. Listen. Learn. Laugh. Question everything. In 1980, posters appeared in subway stations and on telephone poles in New York City with a phone number to call. When you called it, you would hear a message: “This is Apology. Apology is not associated with the police or any other organization but rather is a way for you to tell people what you have done wrong and how you feel about it.” This episode was originally released in 2024.
