HELLO #1 >> JEROME PACMAN - One Step

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 12, 2010 82:42

Jerome's passion for music first started very young in the 80's, while listening to radio FM. At the time, the hip-hop movement was just beginning and Jerome soon found himself as a break-dancer in Paris. A few years later, when the "idealistic-electro" movement moved towards "political rap", he began loosing interest in this scene; while holidaying in Ibiza, he discovered house music, the famous "Summer of Love" was in full swing and he had just been enlightened. He became an instant follower of the "Acid-House Music" scene. In '90-'91, Jerome's DJing career begins by playing around different after-hours clubs in Paris, then, in larger events like the Rex Club, Mozinor, Soma, Lunacy, all the rave parties, and over Europe like Mayday in Belin or Club Uk in London. In 1995, he produced one of his first tracks, "Mouvement perpetuel", which was ranked in "The Top 50 Discs of the Year" by Muzzik, the renowned English music magazine. He also became resident DJ with "Magic Garden"(fr), who gave rise to 2 CD's ('Jerome Pacman' s House Cafe' - vol.1 & 2), which were highly praised by music press. In 2002, his double CD mix titled "Jerome Pacman' s Family" is reviewed by Dj Mag: " Jerome Pacman's Family is an intimate affair of deep, minimal house and percussive tech-funk. If you want a mix album that speaks about love for music, then look no further than this ". Since then, Jerome has never lost his musical integrity, what is worth today to be one of the most respected French Dj's. He has played mostly in Europe these last years (Ministry & The End in London, Space Ibiza, Goa Madrid, Rex Paris,.. ) & gigs in the underground scene. He also produces, & works with David K for "Only To Play".
