Jesaja 6:1-9 | God is heilig, heilig, heilig by Jef & Herlinde
The Devil's Ledger – Week of February 16 Welcome back to The Devil's Ledger — your weekly guide to everything happening across the Evio Creative universe. As we head into the second week of the Winter Games, we're sending a big congratulations to all of our U.S. Olympians still competing — and if you suddenly find yourself understanding the strategy behind curling, you're not alone. This week's edition begins, as always, with The Creepiest Thing I Heard This Week — a chilling look at the 1959 Dyatlov Pass Incident, where nine experienced hikers fled their tent barefoot into subzero temperatures after encountering what investigators later described only as a “compelling natural force.” Some believe the group may have encountered something else entirely — a mysterious humanoid figure long rumored in the region's winter forests. On The Devil Within We travel to a remote stone sanctuary in northern Italy to examine a centuries-old Ex-Voto painting — a devotional image created to commemorate a miracle. The artwork depicts the exact moment an exorcism was believed to succeed, including an artist's rendering of a dark, serpentine figure leaving a woman's body. Faith, psychology, or something more? On The Ides of April We conclude our two-part series on the assassination of Philip of Macedon — a political killing that may have changed the course of human history. His death didn't stop expansion. It removed the one man who might have restrained his son, unleashing Alexander the Great on the known world. On Taboo Treasures Bruce and Jef return with a fun and surprising deep dive into the strange origins and evolution of Valentine's Day — from ancient rituals to modern traditions. On Criminal Mischief Carolyn Ossorio brings the latest updates in the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie, breaking down new clues, updated timelines, and expert analysis from law enforcement professionals. And every day… You can check in with Josh Wolf on Finding Me with Josh Wolf — a daily podcast journal documenting his honest journey toward becoming the best version of himself. This Week in Horror Diabolic, a 2026 Australian supernatural horror film directed by Daniel J. Phillips, opened in limited theaters on February 13 and begins streaming February 20. The story follows a woman who returns to a restrictive religious community to address trauma-induced blackouts — only to encounter a vengeful witch with unfinished business.

In this episode it's Jef's turn to choose and He decided on a flick that has been haunting him for many moons 1989's "Hider in the House". While not categorized as a horror film, the premise of Gary Busey living in a hidden room in your attic is one of the most horrific things Jef, Josh and Brian could ever imagine. This movie delivers all the horror tropes you could ask for and also begs the question, is it possibly an off season sequel to Halloween? Meanwhile, the FM3 have long been worried about a Hider in the Scary Movie Research Center, there is plenty of candy, beers and Brian's sweatshirts to wear that a creep could live comfortably that is until the day he started popping up trying to convince Brian and Josh that Jef had another podcast he was cheating on them with. But before it was too late, Jef discovered his stash of old beans and playboy's in the supply closet and had to battle him to the death so he could keep Forever Midnight going. Whooo, That was a close one.

In this week's episode, The FM3 Hit the theater to check out the Nia DaCosta directed second part of the new 28 Years Later trilogy "The Bone Temple"! After loving the first installment Jef, Josh and Brian had high hopes for this one and it did not disappoint. Brian even got MORE giant infected zombie dong so you know he was hyped. If you get a chance head out and support this one in theaters while it's still playing. The FM3 give it the old Samson Salute! (Which is just the three of them standing in a field naked tripping balls staring at the moon). So you know it's good! Enjoy!
Episode Summary:Recent events in America from Minneapolis to Washington D.C., show us that unapologetic postures and political strategies are attractive to some who are interested in power. In this special bonus episode, Jef Szi shares his recent essay about this unapologetic trend on full display not just in the terrible shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, but in the Trump administrations response to those events.Jef show us how empathy and social care are essential tools as we aim to stay human in inhumane times. An important reminder that our feelings are not just difficult, but part of the solution. Finally, Jef shares his most recent poem. It imagines Adam apologizing to Eve in The Garden of Eden.
Scott and Jef start off the show talking about figures they just picked up. Jef didn't want to play the long game on some names. In the news, bigshot Pillow buddy showed off their legends of the wing eagle pillow buddy. FC Toys showed off renderings of a couple of music artists. Jef is also excited about a new Beavis and Butthead set that is coming out from Mondo news. Chad messaged us about Rick Martel's signing. Funko showed off new Funkos that are coming out soon. Nerds Closet showed off their next two pack and doing trading cards. Shawn Ng from KWK toys joins the boys. He goes over all his figures that he has coming out. Shawn also talks about his NY Toy Fair live show he is doing in the month of March. Stay Tuned. (TRIGGER WARNING: Sexual Assault, Child Murder, Racism, Bodily Fluids, Cannibalism and a Contagious Virus. Please skip this episode and this movie if any of those subjects are a deal breaker for you) In this episode Jef, Josh and Brian are put to the test with another Top Dawg Patreon Pick! This time around the poison chosen for the guys is 1996's "Ebola Syndrome". This flick is filled with one of the worst villains in cinema history, doing some of the most fucked up crimes in cinema history. This dastardly man Kai San is portrayed by the one and only Anthony Wong. No person is safe in Hong Kong or Africa when this guy is doing his dirty work. Jef, Josh and Brian had a hard time with this one but being the podcast professionals that they are, they toughed it out and brought you the episode that lies before you. So strap in, because this is gonna be a rough ride. Maybe wear a mask for this episode, the FM3 are afraid just talking about this horrible man's shenanigans will infect you wonderful listeners. Enjoy?

Tis the season to chat about trashy holiday horror! In this episode Jef, Josh and Brian dig deep into Santa's sack and hit the tippy bottom and come up with 1980's "To All A Good Night". With arguably one of the worst VHS covers for a vintage Christmas slasher, this one doubles down by also being directed by the super creep from Last House on the Left, David Hess. However what it lacks in art, story and star power they fill in with blood, boobs, Santa and the one and only Harry Reems. So win win win!? This festive flick is currently streaming on TUBI so go give it a watch and join the FM3 for some Xmas fun! Happy Holidays!

The FM3 decided to kick off December by heading to Antarctica to check out some space skin that some Norwegians found buried deep in the freezing snow. Little do they know they will be overtaken by an alien lifeform just like in the 1982 John Carpenter classic "The Thing". Thankfully for you listeners, the only real change you will notice is Jef, Josh and Brian may choose some "good" movies more often and oh yeah they are all connected together and are a huge mess of flesh now. But other than those two things, everything you love about the podcast will remain the same, that is until the guys get their silly little flying saucer built out of old hot dog cans and lawn mower engines. So sit back friends, enjoy this episode and let the Forever Midnight Podcast take over your mind and body!

It's that time of year when most folks are diving into a pile of mash potatoes but Jef, Josh and Brian figured they were ready to dive into Eli Roth's 2023 film "Thanksgiving"! Yup, finally a proper Thanksgiving themed horror film with all the fixings plus room for dessert or as they say in Hollywood a "sequel". This episode starts out strong with some killer smells and then finally onto the main course. Jump to the 19:00 minute mark if you wanna skip right to the meat and cranberry sauce of the episode. The crew hopes you enjoy this episode and that you all stay safe and happy over this next holiday week. It's Gnarvember folks! The time of year that Jef, Josh and Brian celebrate horror movies that feature Heavy Metal and or hard rock bands! This time around the FM3 check out 1987's "Slaughterhouse Rock" starring the one and only Toni Basil! This flick interested our brave heroes because it takes place in SF and on Alcatraz. So of course the guys wanted to dip in and see what hard rock delights awaited them. If you have not seen this one and want to play along you can stream "Slaughterhouse Rock" on Prime Video and ScreamBox. Enjoy!
In this episode, the FM3 decided to check in on the listener voicemails that have been piling up. Once again, Jef, Josh and Brian had a great time listening to some messages and rambling about this and that. They had high hopes that they would tackle a bunch of messages but time flies because it is fake and before they knew it, the episode had to end. So the boys will be doing more of these in the future, so be sure to call and leave a message on the FM hotline at 707-327-2984! Forever Midnight will be back next week with another movie review episode!

It is chock full of all kinds of now known folks and some now unknown folks that were more well known in the 70's and 80's hahah even Dom DeLuise's little shit of a kid is stinking this one up. In this episode it was Jef's turn to pick a movie for the crew to watch and chat about, Brian and Josh figured after their stinky picks recently Jef was going to elevate the situation and pick a good movie. Well Jef decided it was only fair to stoop to their level and dig into the dumpster for a nice ripe one. Of course he would never just do any old thing, he will always make sure there are at the very least good actors attached to his pick. He was not wrong, he chose 1995's "Hideaway" starring Jeff Goldblum, Alicia Silverstone, Jeremy Sisto, Rae Dawn Chong and Alfred Molina! A whole stack of somebodies! Alas even with all that star power, Hideaway might be best appreciated by those that saw it when it came out, or who knows maybe it is your future favorite movie? Either way The FM3 dig into it and come out the other side forever touched by Heaven and Hell, and revived and ready for the next episode. So win win? Enjoy!
Jef from The Fully Poseable Wrestling Figure Podcast joins me to share stories & memories of wrestling, Disneyland & more before giving ratings & reviews from both he & his brother Scott for the 1986 LJN line. 5 Star Eric & I have our NFL Week 7 Picks & "Andre" Karaoke closes the show
In this episode it was Josh's turn to pick a movie for the guys to watch and chat about. He got so excited that he completely forgot about the ban on Charles Band movies that the FM3 made a blood oath on just mere episodes ago. But instead of choosing something else Brian, Jef and Josh dive dick first into the deep dark dumpster that holds The Charles Band Archives and resurfaced with "The Dungeonmaster" from 1984. Listeners you too can play at home in the Chuck Band Dumpster and watch Richard Moll and the Fondacaro brothers get horribly underused and at the same time see some of John Carl Buechler's Troll and Ghoulies puppet rejects, and really what more could you ask from a "horror" movie?
In this episode, the reigns are given to Brian to steer the guys at a flick to chat about. After very very little thought he decided to finally unleash the surreal nightmare that is the one and only "Skinned Deep" starring Warwick Davis!! Knowing full well that Jef and Josh would hate this movie, he waited until the perfect moment, and that perfect moment is now and why is the perfect moment now you might ask? The answer is that it was the first movie to pop into his little pea brain and now everyone gets to experience this wild ass movie. He says, you are welcome! Now enjoy the show!
How is it possible that you have never heard guitarist Jef Lee Johnson? He was as incendiary and as nakedly original as any soloist you have ever heard (absolutely any!). But his greater distinction might have been his songwriting. You don't learn to write songs that are that revealing, that insightful, that cleverly put-together, and that hilariously funny, just by working at it. First, you have to have the wisdom, and Jef had it pouring out of him. It seemed as if he couldn't make it stop if he wanted to. Jef toured and recorded for decades, but, for whatever reason, he never broke through the way many of us thought he should have. One person who got to witness the artistry up close was fellow guitarist Bob Dee. The two shared the front line in Ronald Shannon Jackson's Decoding Society, and Bob has never forgotten a moment of what he saw and heard. Bob joins host Mitch Goldman for a Deep Focus that continues the WKCR Lost Masters tradition. Join us Monday (8/18) when Mitch Goldman and Bob Dee unearth live, unreleased recordings. NOTE: We have a deep discussion on how to #faceyourfears without tricks -- the real path to lasting confidence. Jef also shares practical, #funandeasy #publicspeakingtips, and so much more! About Jef (in Jef's own words): I'm a former software engineer who used to struggle at communication. Talking with computers didn't help me to #makeconnections, quite the contrary. And talking in front of a crowd, that was too much for me. I felt my career and success blocked not because of my skills, but because of my communication. So I decided to gain these skills at all cost. After a few years, I became the president of #Toastmasters Strasbourg, the biggest public speaking and #leadershipdevelopment club in the region of Alsace, France. I left tech to become a #coach to help all those talented people who are feeling blocked because of their #CommunicationSkills. Deep Focus airs Mondays from 6p to 9p NYC time on WKCR 89.9FM, WKCR-HD or wkcr.org. In this episode one of the FM3's Patreon Top Dawgs picked a movie that the guys were very skeptical about and never imagined watching it. Having heard the name and seen the VHS artwork Jef, Josh and Brian could only imagine that this flick was nothing more than a janky music video for Boris Pickett & The Crypt Kicker 5's punishing jam "The Monster Mash". Thank goodness it wasn't and because It is actually a pretty fun horror anthology with some cool musical numbers. Plus you get a monster sized dose of Vincent Price and John Carradine as the book ends of each of the stories and boy oh boy they are hamming it up and down. The best part is that Boris Pickett was nowhere to be found and for the Forever Midnight boys that meant this flick might not stink to high heavens like the Wolfman's nards or the Crypt Kickers crypt knickers.

In this episode, one of the Forever Midnight's Patreon Top Dawgs picked a movie for the FM3 to chat about and even sent a gift across the pond. Mysteriously, this gift just happened to arrive the very day the guys were sitting down to record his special episode!! Some might call that a coincidence, but Jef, Josh and Brian call it a coinkydink or more possibly good old fashioned stalking…hmmm? How did he know when the guys were recording? How did he know they like gifts? How did he know where to send them gifts? Do you know where to send them gifts? Well, regardless of the impending restraining order against the crew's favorite Brit-Ish Cabbie, the guys got to check off their watch list for another teen slasher flick from the 80's! The one and only Slaughter High!! So grab a seat, cause this is a fun episode. Remember folks that if you prank, torture and disfigure a person, they will probably totally forgive and forget and you will get to live a long guilt free life! Just remember to always yell "April Fool's Day!" so you can't get in trouble!! Hooray!!

It could talk. It could sing. It could spy on you from the shadows… and it claimed to be a mongoose. In the 1930s, headlines screamed about Gef the Talking Mongoose, a strange creature haunting the remote Isle of Man home of the Irving family. Gef allegedly spoke multiple languages, sang, stole from neighbors, and spied on locals. Paranormal investigators Nandor Fodor and Harry Price chased the mystery, collecting photographs, paw prints, fur samples, and countless witness accounts. Was Gef a clever hoax, a poltergeist, or something far more sinister? Anne and Renata dig into one of history's weirdest and most debated hauntings. In this episode the FM3 get to check out the much anticipated and mysterious horror flick "Weapons" by the director of 2022's "Barbarian" Mr. Zach Cregger. The boys were excited by how little they all collectively knew about this one, but the small teasers had them baited and ready to run hands down to the theater as soon as they could! As usual spoilers lie ahead folks, Jef, Josh and Brian highly recommend you check out this one with your creepy Aunt while it's still on the big screen! Enjoy!
In this week's episode, Jef, Josh and Brian are so happy to be back at the movie theater watching a brand new horror flick! The FM3 sit down for Michael Shanks "Together" starring Alison Brie and her real life husband Dave Franco. Hopes were high and little was known about this project for The Forever Midnight Crew. The convo after viewing got a little hot in a few spots, tempers were raging and the lack of dong shots dominated some of the chat but that's how it goes when talking about Body Horror in a post The Substance world. (There was an audio issue in this ep with one of the mics, apologies). Thank you for listening!
Jeff Berwick, the mind behind Anarchapulco, an annual event for anarcho-capitalists and free-thinkers is a man of depth and humor. Jeff sees through many of the constructs and paradigms so many of us take at face value and I was eager to get him back on after far too many years to have a conversation that I knew would challenge my thoughts and views, and yours.
