Continuing the nostalgic theme in 2022, my tenth anniversary on Pressure Radio.  This weeks show was dedicated to 2011.  No particular reason, although I was intrigued to hear what c2eMusic sounded like just before I went onto Pressure Radio.  I always feel conscious of my sound on Pressure with the soulful house focus on the station.  I personally feel I spill out across a whole bunch of sub genres which makes it difficult to describe to someone.  During the show the further I stray from the soulful vibe the more nervous I get that someone will complain.  As a result I don't feel my sound is as wild as in the pre-Pressure days.  If I'm honest my most successful years in terms of downloads and podcast chart positions was pre-Pressure, so as you can imagine I am keen to rekindle that energy and diversity in my mixes again.  Yes I may not be as popular on Pressure for the die hards, but I shouldn't let that limit me.So here we are with a look back to the glory years...............For those of you that have been on the journey since the early days I'd be interested to know what you think?  Don't be shy, all feedback welcome.Tracklisting:1: Phil Asher - They Heard ft The Mighty Zaf (Dub Mix)2. Glasgow-based @miltonjackson (real name Barry Christie) released his first EP aged 18 on @tronicsole way back in 2001. An album for @glasgowunderground entitled "The Bionic Boy" was released in 2001. Romanthony was such a big fan of the 3rd single ‘Dimensional’ that he asked to remix it, a huge honour for Milton. After the success of "Bionic Boy" and the accompanying live tour (taking in venues like @rexclub in Paris), EPs were completed for the likes of Black Vinyl, Bear Trax (Milton’s own label) and Omid 16B’s Alola (@sexonwax). Milton even worked with a young Mylo on their ‘Pretty Boys’ project. In 2006 a new relationship was formed with @jimpster’s @freerangerecords and saw collaborations with fellow deep house don @shurikan. 2009 was topped off with a win in the DJ Awards in the Deep House category. Milton picked up his award at Pacha in Ibiza alongside the likes of @petetong, @lucianocadenza and Sven Vath. Moving into the 2010s Milton remixed Recloose for Carl Craig’s (@planetedetroit) Planet E and turned in big remixes for Joey Negro’s (@daveleezr) Z Records, 8 Bit and Jef K’s hit “In My System” on Silver Network. He also released "Breathe" on Neurotraxx records. A new collaboration with Munich’s SHOW-B called “Pattern Select” saw the pair release a critically acclaimed EP on @delusionsofgrandeur and a remix for @huxley_uk imprint @saints-n-sonnets. 2012 saw no let up for Milton as he continued to DJ worldwide and release for Freerange (new track DSI), @tsuba vinyl imprint and Black Key Records. 2013 saw Milton take a break from house music after the birth of his children and after an 18 month layoff he returned to Kevin Griffiths’ Tsuba label with his ‘Your Love’ EP. Your love received many plaudits with @traxsource claiming: "Milton Jackson returns and it’s worth the wait!" Milton also recorded a special track for Freerange’s 20th anniversary boxset release called "Songs Without Words". In 2020, 20 years after his first release Milton is still releasing quality EPs - a new 4 tracker for @rawax-chiwax-housewax imprint Housewax was released, plus he has been recording further material with his old partner in music, Shur-i-kan and @matt-masters plus a new solo EP for Freerange. Overall throughout his career Milton has around 60 releases to his name, 2 albums and notched up over 100 remixes, not to mention appearing on hundreds of compilations around the world. Good friend and Milanese heartthrob, Lele Sacchi returns to the SB guestmix series this week. The man knows his way around a house 12", having been in the game since the early '90s, bearing witness to the evolution of what we call house music. Lele also teaches musical history at his local polytechnic, so he's well placed, and even better versed, to take us on a journey through time. A couple months back we tasked him with digging through his collection to provide us with a soundtrack to the mid 90's... and hear lie the fruits of his labour. "I recorded this selecting only underground deep funk and jazzy house tunes from the mid 1990’s, when I started leaving breakbeat music behind and mixing only 4/4 music. It was a great moment for those genres, the US original sounds melted into the exploding UK sounds. In Milan, I was playing at legendary nights at Tunnel, Gasoline and then at Magazzini Generali which became one of Europe’s most important underground large venues. It was also a period when I started getting international recognition playing in Spain, France and UK with likeminded spirits as Ralph Lawson, DJulz, Jef K and the likes..." Parisian young techno stars Ka One & St-Sene have been kind enough to put together an hour long mix of some of their finest deep techno tracks. The Paris underground scene has given rise to some of the biggest names in dance music across the board; Daft Punk, Laurent Garnier, Dimitri From Paris, Ivan Smagghe, Jeremy Underground Paris and DJ Mehdi to name a few. Right at the top of this very talented pile lies Franck Roger, a man dedicated to old school house whilst still pushing things forward.A staunch supporter of vinyl, his sets have won him support around the world, and earned him recognition from those artists that originally inspired him to become a musician. His love of the old school does not only lay in the music and the format in which he plays on, but also his use of analog equipment during his special live sets.A multi-talented individual certainly, not only a producer / DJ, but also label boss, with his imprint Real Tone Records putting out releases from the likes of Maya Jane Coles, The Martinez Brothers, Shonky, Burnski and M A N I K. His new label, Home Invasion, is set to be a vinyl only label, with a real emphasis on the releases being collectors items. Again drawing inspiration from the past, the label is set to take on his major musical influences whilst still having a modern twist. We caught up with ever cool Parisian ahead of his gig at Egg Presents on Friday 9th May alongside the Decay Records camp with Sascha Dive, Gavin Herlihy and more. Where, how and on what was the mix recorded? The mix has been recorded at home where all my records and studio is. This is where I feel the most comfortable and able to create a mix that I am happy with. I used two mk2 turntables, 2 cdj's and a wonderfull DJR 400 that I have had for 8 years now and that i love to play with. It's recorded live without any playlist in mind which is how I feel the best, no pressure, just a the feeling of the moment and that's also my vision of djing at home or in a club, keeping it live and real.The Parisian underground scene has given rise to some fantastic artists and some very influential movements in Electronic Music. Meanwhile Mr. Oizo & Ivan Smagghe,  amongst others, played their part in the evolution of 'Electro House' and acts such as Jef K, D'Julz & Jeremy Underground Paris have been instigating a classicist House revival for many years now.  You've been there from the start witnessing, and being a part of it all since day one. What effect has this musically rich city had on you as a person, performer and musician?All the names you mention here take a lot of influence from a special musical era which existed in the US and it is the same for me too. French producers gave their 'special treatment' with a classy touch of course. I think we can talk also about St Germain and Shazz here. Paris is a city with tons of talented dj's and producers and it also influences all of us in a crazy race of production, especially today with all the Parisian labels that do only vinyl for most of them, we all have respect for each other and provide one another with energy and inspiration. If i lived out of Paris i would have followed a different path with my music for sure.How would you describe your sound as a DJ and also as producer?My sounds as a dj and producer is an instant sound, instant in the moment, just a feeling as a dj when you have a good crowd you wanna give them all you have, so the moments can be magic, in the studio the approach is different, you're all alone with you're machines, so you need to project yourself in another dimension, imagine how the record will be received once played in a club. My sounds are mostly old skool in the studio and even the way i play, i keep it raw, no time to sleep behind the decks, that's how I feel it. You’re known for your love of 'old school' house music, how did you first discover it? I first heard what we now call 'old school' house on the radio in the 90's when i was around 15, recording shows on tape, running to record stores with my walkman to find out what was playing etc. I was always on a quest for the tracks I'd hear and I found this really exciting. As I didnt have much money at that age, Id only buy EPs I really loved making my collection from this era all the more precious for me. So it was this sound that I grew up with, at the time sounding so new and exciting, now it sounds old for the younger generation but for me this is the real essence of house music, this is where i come from. Now old school is hyped which is a good thing, all the repres's from the records that took us years to collect are now here again, its  a cycle. I dont follow the hype , I play house music, can be old or new, if it feels right and gives me the right emotions Ill play it. You’re a strictly vinyl man. What is it you love about this format and do you think it has a future in dance music? I buy vinyl every week but it doesnt mean that i only play records, it depend on the travel conditions etc. I rip a lot of my records so I  an play them on CD if I want to take a bigger selection of music with me to a gig. I do believe that vinyl will never disappear, thats my thought, we will all go back to vintage things, in arts and in music and we love evolutions and technical progression but there will always be a love for something that people can hold in their hands, record shops and label owners alike will always survive I feel.You just launched your new imprint Home Invasion. Can you tell us about your vision for the record label and what musical direction you plan on taking with it? Home Invasion is for now and always will be a vinyl only label, why? Because I want people to take time to listen to the music and for it not to get lost in the millions of releases on Beatport or in their Itunes.. I dont have anything against beatport but i want to see that people are loving the music by buying a real physical copy. I mean, I know it can cost 10 euro but to me this is an investment in something that will stay in your collection for life. The Home Invasion records will also be stamped one by one as I want buyers to know that i time and effort in to them one by one. It's an artisanal thing and in the studio it is the same, old skool with many machines, outboard, machine drums, synths, effects etc.. the list is long and very interesting. Musically I will follow my directions influenced by all those years behind me and will try to keep it futuristic and modern at the same time, with my touch, spacey and trippy for some times too, I don't wanna lock myself in a certain style, I just want to follow my inspirations and this is what is so exiting to keep being an artist and feel free and alive everyday.What are you working on at the moment? Anything you’d like to shout about? Im working on the next Home Invasions but I am in no rush. I want to keep the label with only 4 releases a year not more, keeping time to promote it well spending as much time as necessary to create something I'm truly happy with. The focus is on Home Invasion at the moment but I always enjoy working on remixes when i have time and if I like and feel inspired by the project and feel inspired like the one that will come soon on Decay Records from Juliche Hernandez. The next release, Home Invasion 3, will be out mid-April and is already receiving very good feedback from many dj's so i've got a good feeling on it :-)And finally, what artists are you loving right now? I don't have special names to mention as there are a lot, i will go for some of the new blood in Detroit, and in New York.. There is a lot of great productions coming from there at the moment and it is really good to see that. Paris is rocking with hold youth and rue de plaisance records, syncrophone records too, so many to mention and so many names that are making this world go round :-)

Hanfry Martinez is one of Spain's most prolific artists. We are super proud to announce that our 6th podcast comes from Parisian house legend Jef K.  Head honcho of deep house imprint Silver Network, Jef K is a man constantly striving to push great deep house music to the masses.  This podcast, however, is a step in different direction from his usual deep house sound and delves expertly into the realms underground disco house. Ketoloco caught up with Jef K for a chin wag... 1) What have you been up to lately?Been touring a lot and working a lot on music lately, a lot of new releases are coming up including a new one on my label silver network with two originals from Death on the Balcony.  Remixes by myself & gwen maze, robert james, and valentin from paris will also be onn that EP.  There is also an original track and a remix for a very nice track from yakine on One Records - Birmingham, two original tunes by myself, gwen & alex murak on Italian label Rebirth and finally a remix for 2020 vision ... and so on!2) You were born and raised in the suburbs of Paris.  How did this influence you musically?i was raised with all kinds of 'black music', reggae, funk dico, hip hop ... everything with huge basslines so i went naturally to house music after that ... 3) A lot of people tend to say the French house scene was stronger back in the 90's, what are your thoughts on this?I think it's true, bak in the days we were really lucky to have all big dj's fighting to play in paris, then it went a bit down for a few years  but it's really changing now and paris is getting bigger and bigger nowadays partywise and musicwise ... a lot of new talents are coming up as well as new partypeople .... Paris is back bébé !! ;) 4) Silver Network has become a classic deep house label. Can Tell us about your ethos with the label?  Have you always led it in the same musical direction as you do now?My brother and i built the label back in 1999 and we have 30 releases so far, we always tried to have a certain quality ... As big fans of US house music here are a lot of american artists but we opened it a lot to all kinds of artists from europe also .... Not really caring about names but defintly caring about quality music ... 5) What are your past experiences of Ketoloco? Did you think about those when you were planning your mix?  I played ketoloco for easter bank holiday in london this year and had a real blast ... it was a beautiful sunny day and i only have great memories of it ... Of course i thought about it when doing this mix but it's not really what I play for you guys, it's takes a more disco journey.6) The podcast takes a more laid back route through disco house music. Do you prefer playing at slower tempos?Actually i love basslines and the slowest the better to enjoy them ... Also i like podcasts that are made for homelistening, i also like proper club sets, but i thought i should give you this one as i had a lot of beautiful tracks that are not always possible to play in clubs ...  7) How was the podcast produced?Did it this week end at home with my girlfriend as only audience ...
