Sasha's closing set at Space Ibiza in 2016 is remembered as a historic moment in dance music history. As the iconic club prepared to close its doors after 27 years, Sasha delivered a performance that encapsulated the spirit and energy of Space. One of the standout moments from this set was his inclusion of "Body Shine" by Billy Hendrix. Originally released in 1997, "Body Shine" is a track that combines soulful vocals with a driving house beat, making it a classic in the genre. Sasha's decision to play this track was both a nod to the past and a testament to its enduring appeal. While specific reviews detailing this particular set are scarce, the significance of Sasha's performance at Space Ibiza's closing cannot be overstated. His set was a journey through house music's rich history, blending timeless classics with contemporary tracks, and "Body Shine" was a perfect example of this blend. For those interested in experiencing the atmosphere of Space Ibiza during its final season, the International Music Summit (IMS) produced a documentary titled "Space Ibiza: End of An Era," which provides insights into the club's legacy and its final moments. Although it doesn't focus solely on Sasha's set, it captures the essence of what made Space Ibiza a legendary venue. For me incorporating "Body Shine" into his set was a testament to Sasha's deep connection to house music's roots and his ability to evoke nostalgia while keeping the dance floor moving. This choice resonated with the crowd, making it a memorable highlight of the night, hope you enjoyed it too!DJ

Show Time, enjoy this week's episode hosted by Spanish DJ & Producer KIKO NAVARRO. Carving out an enviable reputation across the globe for his distinctive and highly personal brand of House music, Kiko Navarro's voyage of sonic discovery has been going strong for almost three decades now. Born in Mallorca, Kiko's sound reflects the sun-drenched, slow living atmosphere of the Balearic island he still calls home. Obsessed from an early age with the more soulful side of US House music, Navarro's DJ skills soon attracted the attention of nightlife behemoth Pacha who offered him club residencies both in Palma and in Ibiza. Next came a monthly gig at Space Ibiza and the rest, as they say, is history. Despite having been DJing for more than a quarter of a century, Kiko Navarro is constantly growing and developing his style; it's an approach that keeps him in constant demand at some of the most prestigious nightclubs on the planet. From London to the Far East, Kiko has travelled the far and wide with his music, embracing sounds from each continent as he goes. Equally at home on festival stages at Southport Weekender and Southern Soul Festival or in some dark, underground sweat-box, Kiko's passion is palpable; his music selection is impeccable. Inspired by his experiences as a DJ, Kiko Navarro brought a multitude of influences into the studio as he began to master the art of production. Underpinned by his obvious devotion to House music, Kiko's love of afro-latin sounds has been evident in his feel-good, dance-floor oriented productions since the very beginning. His connection to Pacha led to several releases on the label as well as a mixed compilation ‘The Latin Sound Of Pacha' which was issued on Tommy Boy records in 2001. Working with many of the world's most respected imprints such as Local Talk, King Street Sounds and Osunlade's Yoruba Records attracted an impressive list of top flight DJs to Kiko's music, ranging all the way from Gilles Peterson on one end of the musical spectrum to Jeff Mills on the other. Following several busy years spent touring the world as the official DJ for the Ducati Marlboro Moto GP Team, Kiko locked himself away in the studio, emerging in 2017 with a new solo album: ‘Everything Happens For A Reason'. Released on BBE Records, a label renowned for quality music of all shades, the album is gaining plaudits from across the musical community thanks to its warmth, originality and soul. Ten years on from his debut LP ‘Perceptions', Kiko revisited its biggest hit ‘Soñando Contigo', creating a brand new ‘Orchestral' version for 2017 and in the process paying homage to the track that made him famous. Featuring special guest appearances from DJ Spen, Concha Buika, Boris Dlugosch and Julie McKnight, ‘Everything Happens For A Reason' displays each shade of Kiko's musical palette in vivid Technicolor. A true Renaissance Man; now also a family man, today's Kiko Navarro is perhaps even more focused and dedicated to his life in music than ever before. An album tour this year will see him play DJ sets in Italy, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Greece, Japan, South Korea, China with many more to be confirmed. Whether in the studio crafting records or in the club controlling the dance-floor, Kiko's musical mission has become the habit of a lifetime. Enjoy this Afro House special journey with the one & only KIKO NAVARRO live from Tel Aviv! N/A This show is syndicated & distributed exclusively by Syndicast. His production have been dubbed “timeless” by top DJs and even referred to as a “change of heart for dance music.” His vision is clear, yet simply stated: “I just want people to enjoy my music as much as I enjoy playing it for them.” Saeed Younan is certainly a busy man with many jobs, but armed with his fierce work ethic and an unlimited passion for music, he welcomes each new challenge. "It's a lot of juggling," he admits, “but I'm used to it, I've done it all my life. I'm excited about the future, about my label and my production work. True House Stories Podcast with special guests by Lenny Fontana
TRUE HOUSE STORIES W/ DAVE BEER # 081 - PART 2 In this episode you will hear Dave Beer explain the faced post-warehouse party world with the DIY ethos of a punk direction helping to create Back To Basics in 1991 which it was named literally to represent what the club was set out to do. Partners Beer and Alistair grew tired of the acid house scene and wanted to put on parties, where alternative music to the rave scene was played. Through Back To Basics, they made club nights fashionable, and throughout the 1990s it was one of the most desirable places to go, causing road blocks in Leeds city centre. At the time, Back to Basics had a strict, sometimes controversial and inconsistent door policy which made it one of the hardest clubs to get into. Beer personally greeted all 80 clubbers on the opening night and those who were refused entry due to their dummy sucking or poor choice of trainers were encouraged to try harder next time. Its opening night was held on the top floor of The Chocolate Factory, which was later renamed, The Music Factory. Weeks two and three of Back To Basics saw the crowds double in size until it was attracting 1,000 clubbers every week. By Nov 1992 at the end of its first year, Dave and Alistair found themselves on stage at the Royal Albert Hall, looking out to a packed auditorium as they picked up the DMC and Mixmag Award for Best Club in the UK. Over the next 20 years from 1991 to the present day, Beer toured Back To Basics all over the world from Australia to the USA and held club residencies at Home London, and Space Ibiza. He was responsible for nurturing and discovering the talent of Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and Groove Armada giving them some of their first gigs as unknown artists. Beer was also responsible for bringing international talent into the UK for the first-time including Danny Tenaglia, Doc Martin, Josh Wink and Frankie Knuckles. Back To Basics holds numerous awards from the music and events industry and has gained worldwide recognition thanks to its forward-thinking music policy and loyal following. Today it is considered a "household name" in UK clubbing and Beer continues to be "the life and soul" of the Basics party. Listen to breakdown the next 20 years in this episode.

Habs Akram is a pioneering visual artist, and was Carl Cox's personal visual artist at the world renowned Space Ibiza for 8 years. Habs also travelled around the world with Carl as he conjured up magic with his visuals at the likes of Ultra Miami, and before that he worked on other projects including Glastonbury's iconic Pyramid Stage. There's many things that we should be reflecting and re-evaluating on about the music industry since Covid-19 brought the industry to its knees last March - and one of them is giving credit to those behind the scenes who make the events what they are. Whilst the DJs are amazing at what they do, the focus and limelight is of course always on them in the centre of the booth, but the events at that scale even down to your more intimate affairs would not be the same spectacle without visual artists like Habs. Habs recalls his first initial encounter with Carl Cox, the inspiration and patience that went into his visual mixing app, reminisces on the amazing years at Space, meeting the likes of Uma Thurman to Lionel Messi & Kyle Minogue, refusing Paris Hilton entry into the booth, hilarious stories from when he did the visuals at a fetish party in London, the importance of remaining humble & never forgetting where you've come from, and the highs and lows that come with the demands of touring the world. James Reid is a British DJ, producer, and record label owner who has spent the last 9 years living and playing in Ibiza as a resident DJ. His career started in 1998 in his hometown of Harrogate, which then led him to work summer seasons in Ibiza from 2003, where he learned his craft as a resident DJ in some of the island's leading music venues. James' musical inspirations originate from the sound of the early 2000s in the US West Coast. This dubby percussive genre leads him to find the underground sounds of France and Romania, which now best represent his style and direction. In James' sets, an infectious groove is always present with his stripped back minimal sound. Having lived in Ibiza full time since 2011, James had played in Space Ibiza, shared decks with Carl Cox, performed 3 consecutive years in Sydney at the Space Ibiza on Tour, and annual appearances at Australia's premier electronic music brand S.A.S.H. As a music producer, he has released on labels including Zingiber Audio, Whostryo, Plus Plus, and Natural Rhythm. In 2018, he started his vinyl-only record label Sonet Music. Now, he is based in England and focusing full time on his music and his record label. This is the month of May, summer is hinting at its arrival and something to accompany this most lovely time of year is a very sun kissed and blissful mix from the legend that is Tom Costelloe.... A local hero to Devon hailing from London originally Tom has had his fair share of DJ globe trotting adventures and residencies. So honoured to have one of my DJ heros from over the years to feature in this guest mix. :) Bio..... With a true passion for music alongside a well-developed taste in all genres, an energising stage presence and the ability to read perfectly his audience, its common knowledge that TOM COSTELLOE has got the art of DJ'ing to a standard that's hard to beat... He started DJ'ing in 1987, playing out at local pubs and clubs, and doing Weddings, Birthdays ETC. His natural talent was soon spotted and in 1991 he was offered a weekly residency at FUTURES a House club in Deptford (London). Futures soon outgrew its venue and Tom linked up with Bernie Sinclair & Sean McClusky of LOVE RANCH who began the now infamous CLUB UK and Tom became resident of these events from 1992... In the Summer of 1995 Tom was asked to become resident for LOVE RANCH at SPACE (Ibiza) on Thursday Mornings. Tom impressed several promoters on the island and was approached to play the legendary SPACE on Sunday mornings supporting the likes of Brandon Block and Alex P, and proved his versatility with set's both inside and on the terrace. Whilst in Ibiza Tom Also played for SIGN OF THE TIMES, at many of the SUNRISE parties and at CAFÉ MAMBO and was also headlining at many of the smaller San Antonio clubs. Back in the UK Tom Continued to Play for SIGN OF THE TIMES as the main resident, this time based in London at THE ROCKET. And 1998 saw further visits to Ibiza where Tom played for SUNNY SIDE UP at ES PARIDIS, CLOCKWORK ORANGE, and the now infamous GODSKITCHEN at AMNESIA where he made 6 appearances as a resident which continued the following year. In 2000 Tom relocated to Devon as resident and promoter of EYECON at the DANCE ACADEMY, PLYMOUTH - playing alongside some of the world's most talented and most wanted DJ'S, booking the artist's for this event and putting his unique slant on the line up's - you could never say it was all about one style, more like a mish mash of several! And that's the way TOM liked it! This popular Saturday night event boasted a weekly attendance of 1200+ and an ever-growing group of dedicated followers that crammed the cavernous club almost full to capacity every week, all waiting for the time when TOM hit the decks with his weekly assault of upfront and classic tunes – basically YOU knew when TOM COSTELLOE was on!!! EYECON @ the Dance Academy was voted club of the year (regional) in MIXMAG in 2004 and received several similar accolades in music publications such as DJ mag, Muzik and Ministry Magazines. Tom, accompanied by MANOCH BAHMANZADEH (owner) both turned the DANCE ACADEMY in Plymouth into one of the most respected and much loved events in the UK, and it's sad loss still continues to this day... Tracklisting.... 1) Chris Malinchak - So Good To Me (Original Mix) 2) Sia - Breathe (Arty Bootleg) 3) Gabriel & Dresden Feat. Molly - Let Go (Blake Jarrell Remix) 4) Cazzette - Weapon (Vicetone Remix) 5) Sander Van Doorn & Mark Knight Vs Underworld - Ten 6) First State Feat. The Terrace Podcast Presents this weeks special guest "Lilith" from Amsterdam. There is an underlying order in this universe, which expresses itself in the form of numerical relations. This universal order is the basis of my music. I do this because I believe that when your music is based on this order, you can touch people in the most profound way.” - Lilith, July 2011 Rising Dutch house and techno talent Lilith is showing herself to be as independent and as strong a force as her mythological namesake in today's tough musical climate. Born Caroline Arends, the Amsterdam residenat takes her sobriquet from the woman who, in Jewish mythology, was said to be Adam's wife (move over Eve). She left her husband as she felt too constrained and subservient to him – and it's that same desire to be individual and different that drives this emerging start. First embracing the art and science of DJing in 2004, Lilith spent 7 years as one half of Naald & Draad, developing a weighty, bullshit-free groovy tech house sound that won her and her partner-in-crime great acclaim across her native country and continent. 2010 was to be both the year they released their first record – the cheeky From Blossom Till Dawn on Daniel Sanchez's acclaimed Bla Bla Records – and the year they parted company. In the summer of 2010, Lilith was born as a solo DJ and producer. One with big ambitions. Following on from playing national festival and club mainstays like Mysteryland, Dance Valley, Melkweg, Catwalk, Rockit Open Air, Welcome To The Future Open Air, TWSTD and places further afield like Ibiza's legendary Bora Bora, she now holds down a residency at Amsterdam's legendary bastion of all things underground, Studio 80. She also plays a part in organising the bi-monthly Warehouse parties at Rotterdam's Pakhuis, spreading the good word of house and techno across both of the country's major cities. Across the years, she's played alongside heroes of the scene, from Dennis Ferrer Jeff Mills to Guy Gerber, Karotte to Tobi Neumann, Ripperton to Gregor Tresher and many more. Lilith debuted her live act in July 2011 on the main stage at Have Nice Day festival to great acclaim. Her first release as Lilith - Angel's Love on Monique Musique - has proved to be an even bigger success than she could have hoped for, smashing the Space Ibiza opening party with its sensual rhythms, and receiving support from the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Loco Dice, Carlo Lio, Gel Abril, Hernan Cattaneo, Andrew Grant,Maya Jane Coles, Julien Chaptal, Anton Pieete and more. It points a finger to a very bright career in the studio, while her strengths and popularity as a DJ continue to blossom thanks to her harmonically-tailored mixing skills and exquisite track selection. Lilith recently released a much anticipated and well-received "Master Codes EP" (release date 24/01/2012, Memoria Recordings). Fully immersed in creating and promoting the music she loves so passionately, Lilith is definitely here to stay. www.theterracepodcast.com

The Terrace Podcast Welcomes this weeks guest : Yousef with a very groovy set recorded live from Space Ibiza in the Carl Cox (Revolution Party) The new decade sees Yousef consolidating his status as an international DJ, Producer, Club Promoter and Music aficionado with ever greater impact. Running one of Europe's premier clubnights co-exists alongside manning a record label of the same name, whilst his reputation as a DJ grows with increasing stature and a constantly escalating global calendar. His productions continue to leave an indelible imprint on the world; the release of second artist album ‘Indigo Child', the follow-up to 2009's impressive LP ‘A Collection of scars and situations', is scheduled for later on in 2011. A hugely expansive collection much like its predecessor, it marks a return to Circus Recordings after Yousef took a twelve month sabbatical to work exclusively with a select band of record labels, including Saved, Cocoon, Harthouse, and Monique Musique. The return will be kick-started with the release of one 8 track EPs entitled ‘Yousef's Circus Reworks'. The focus is simple; transformations of several productions with the Circus dancefloor specifically in mind, Jamie T, Fourtet, Giles Peterson, Moby and Sven Vath among the producers contributing material for Yousef to re-jig alongside his own peerless ‘Come Home'. Each track represents a certain time of the night or certain room; painting a personal musical projection of what Circus means to Yousef and an ideological snapshot of the clubnight's musical DNA. The event is quite the beast. Now in its ninth year, it's quickly moved from being the best night in Liverpool to one of the most talked about and well respected soirees on the continent, the flagship for the refurbished and Funktion One equipped Masque. The high profile nature has seen shows with Planet E, Bedrock, Meganite and Teutonic techno institution Cocoon, not to mention a superlative collaboration with the BBC for the 500th Essential Mix. Loco dice, Pete Tong Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Ricardo Vilalobos, Laurent Garnier, Luciano, Carl Craig, Adam Beyer, John Digweed, Davide Squillace, Raresh, Dennis Ferrer, Heidi, Nic Fanciulli, Tim Green and countless others have all played for Yousef and his party in the last 12 months. Many more are slanted for future shows in 2011 and beyond as it nears an unprecedented ten years of rave carnage. And Yousef continues to push further ground as a DJ. 2011 will see his second year as one of the residents at Carl Cox presents... at Space, arguably the internationally renowned nightclub's finest party of the season. A recent tour of South America saw a consolidation of his status as one of the premier foreign DJs for the continent (a debut at Warung Beach a particular highlight), and he remains a huge draw from the sun kissed shores of Melbourne to Miami to the sweat soaked basements of Manchester and Munich. One thing's for sure; Yousef will continue to leave a huge personal footprint upon electronic music both behind the scenes and behind the decks of the world's finest clubs, whilst creating the musical soundtracks that pulsate through their clubber's ears. He simply knows no other w www.theterracepodcast.com
