I hadn't heard Armin Van Buuren's 2013 classic, This is What it Feels Like, for a while and it made me remember how great dance music was back then. This set features 20 amazing dance tracks from the 2000's and the 2010's. Check out the ID list on Instagram @mikelettner. If you're a true fan of dance music, you're going to love this. Mahalo for listening.
4. Art Blakey – “Moanin'” (1958) Blakey's “press roll thunder” en soulvolle drive: hét hard‑bop geluid. 5. Philly Joe Jones – “Two Bass Hit” (Miles Davis, 1958) Super strakke rudiments, dynamische fills, en meesterlijke controle. 6. Elvin Jones – “A Love Supreme: Pt II – Resolution” (John Coltrane, 1965) Golvende, spirituele storm aan polyritmiek. 7. Tony Williams – “Seven Steps to Heaven” (Miles Davis, 1963) Williams was 17 (!) en revolutionair in drive, vrijheid en cymbal‑articulatie. 8. Roy Haynes – “Snap Crackle” (1962) Zijn bijna elektronische “snap & crackle” stijl komt hier volledig tot recht. 9. 10. Steve Gadd – Intro van 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover 11. Steve Gadd – “Foam Home” (Steve Gadd Band – 70-Strong, 2015) Legendarische precisie, frasevorming en groove—drummer's favorite. 12. 1. Vroege jazz & New Orleans (1900–1920) De moderne drumkit ontstond in New Orleans toen slagwerkers verschillende percussie-instrumenten combineerden tot één set (o.a. bass drum, snare en bekkens).

Mix of the Week #624 is "Love Vibez" by Mr. Chinn (The Sound Council) Follow and include @user-189622721 in your track ID requests Love comes in many colors, shades and hues…. Love, like music, is a frequency. An invisible force that owns the power to penetrate deep within our hearts, seemingly transforming pain into passion, sadness to joy - melting every emotion in between. This “DJ MIXTAPE”, which was 100% orchestrated by a true living, breathing human being, encompasses the good, the bad and the beautiful that lives within all of us, including the imperfections- like the nostalgic crackle that plays upon a well loved record… The ‘found tracks' on this mix have been hand-picked and sourced from OG 45's,12”s and demos that I have acquired, dug for, or magically stumbled upon over time. I hope the songs, melodies and selections included in this mix will help to soften hearts, lift spirits and inspire- more love! Thank you to all of our unsung heroes, past and present, whose powerful voices continue to resonate and echo out to new generations- proving the power of music lives far and beyond! Big love to the good people at Dream Chimney for continuing to push DJ and record culture. In a world of generated playlists, this is a vital art form to be cherished. Extra special shout out to my homeboy and comrade, the talented http://instagram.com/ghastlyk who created the raw and beautiful hand-drawn art made for this special project. In episode 171 of 'On the Whorizon' SWCEO founder and host MelRoseMichaels explores how unhealed patterns, fear, and insecurity quietly shape adult creator businesses. From pricing decisions rooted in shame to burnout driven by validation-seeking, this episode looks at how the “shadow self” shows up in content, boundaries, and income in ways many creators don't realize.MelRose breaks down what it means to lead your business from a healed, self-led place instead of survival mode. This episode is for adult creators ready to build a business that reflects who they are now, not who they had to be to survive when they first started.
