Are you stuck because you lack vision, or because you are not doing the work? In today's episode, Kevin and Alan discuss why success requires both imagination and execution. Kevin reflects on how podcasting was built one step at a time, before the bigger picture was clear. Alan explains the “clouds and dirt” framework, showing why vision without action becomes fantasy, and action without direction becomes wasted effort. They also explore self-awareness, discipline, natural wiring, and the client patterns they have seen after thousands of episodes and years of coaching. This episode will help you see which side you need to build next. A whole bunch of zeroes as I try to recover from the recent injury to my leg. I've been patient and rested my leg, but the arrival of new Oboz shoes to replicate as closely as possible the sole of my previous boots, puts me close to returning to trail this coming Thursday. Bring it on! Along the way, I managed to grab conversations with Dumb Enough, Grateful, and Blarney Fife at Weary Feet Hostel. I'm using Polarsteps to record my AT thru-hike this year. No matter where you are in your faith journey, you are one step from unstuck. In this message, we look at four spiritual starting points that show up throughout Scripture — and what it looks like to take the next step from each one. Some of us want Jesus nearby but not in control. Some of us believe, but are wrestling with doubt at the same time. Some of us are still asking questions, circling the edges of faith. And some of us carry the weight of a past failure, convinced our worst moment defines us. The good news is that none of these starting points disqualify you. Felix, the father in Mark 9, Nicodemus, and Peter all show us that God meets people exactly where they are — and invites them forward. Delayed obedience is still disobedience. Faith and struggle can exist in the same heart simultaneously. At some point, faith requires a step. And your worst moment does not have to become your permanent identity. Wherever you're starting from today, the next step is closer than you think.

I've reached the quarterway point of the Application Trail, and am getting dark thoughts about the weather in the next few months. It is already unseasonably warm, so June through August should be pretty alarming when they arrive. i now have a plan of completing 86 miles per week that would get me to Katahdin by the very end September. It means I'll have to up my game a bit, but I feel that now is the time. Along the way these past few days, I managed to record Dave Santi about plans for an Over the Hill Gang reunion on a long trail. Also, I bumped into Twister and Beef when they were giving out some trail magic. I'm using Polarsteps to record my AT thru-hike this year. This episode is going to be fun, especially for me, because we were doing our favorite thing. To get started on this story, I had to pull out boxes of videos, tapes and photographs of the musical, that we brought to England in the summer of 1988. I sent some pictures to our friends who participated asking for their memories. I found out things I didn't remember, and one woman said, “I am smiling as I look at these beautiful photos. We had a wonderful time as a procession group, learning the dances, finding matching dresses, and rehearsing together. It is a very cherished memory in our hearts.” Thomas and I, as you heard in the last “flashback episode,” could have never imagined where God would take us in the following years. In episode, “One Step at a Time”, you heard a tape recording of me, talking about an exciting challenge. It was the opportunity to present “Celebrate His Holiness” at the “Fire Conference” in Birmingham. Our church friends inNorthfield, were already looking forward to working with our experienced German team. As a group, we had done the musical in German, three times in Munich. In that tape update to my parents, I said, “If it's the Lord's will, then we will have the people, and be ready to pull it together. It not, that's fine too, because it would be a very big project.” Little did I know, that would turn out to be a process. For my podcast last year, I did two videos with Jim and Anne, who had directed the first musical in England. Jim said something funny but wise, concerning such an endeavor, “Be prepared to have a plan B, or C, or D, when you set out on that adventure.”

A bit of a break for me this time. It is mid May, and that means Trail Days in Damascus. Dave Santi and his buddies picked me up from about 60 trail miles north of Damascus and brought me back to their Airbnb. What a treat! So I was able to rest for much of the three days of the event AND buy some replacement shows. We'll see how much benefit I get from both of these things in the next couple of days. along the way, I recorded conversations with Jeff Davis, a new hostel owner, and Ben Steere, or Big Red, a fellow hiker. Want to learn more about Remote Therapeutic Monitoring in neuro? In this episode, host Erin Gallardo, PT, DPT, NCS speaks with physical therapist and former clinic owner turned digital health leader Sarah Anestam, PT, MSPT and practice owner Katie Wadland, PT, DPT, GCS about how the OneStep app and remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM) are transforming outpatient and home-based rehab. Sarah explains how OneStep uses smartphone sensors to turn everyday walking into objective gait and fall risk data, giving clinicians "gait lab in a pocket" insight into how patients move in real-world environments without extra hardware. Katie shares how her practice, Healthy Aging Physical Therapy, an outpatient-at-home practice has integrated OneStep to better serve older adults and people with neurologic conditions like Parkinson's disease, using the platform to track progress between visits, support home programs, and even synthesize large datasets for documentation and clinical decision-making. In the episode we'll break down the challenges and opportunities with different RTM systems, discuss the evolving RTM billing rules, give practical workflow tips, and demonstrate how RTM has created a meaningful new revenue stream while enhancing patient engagement, long-term monitoring, and community-based wellness initiatives such as fall prevention events. Get More at LVwithLOVE.com! Girls on the Run has the word “run” right there in the name, but this program is about a lot more than running. On this episode of the Lehigh Valley with Love Podcast, George Wacker is joined by his daughter Dahlia, a first-year Girls on the Run participant at her elementary school, for a conversation with Girls on the Run Lehigh Valley & Pocono Executive Director Liz Fones, coach Jennifer Leffler, and Laney, a program alumna who now gives back as a junior coach. Yes, there is running. Yes, the season ends with a 5K. But the real work happens during the practices, where trained coaches help participants build confidence, make friends, set goals, talk through emotions, and learn how to handle the kinds of social pressure that can show up early in elementary and middle school. Liz explains that the program gives girls tools at a critical age, especially as they begin thinking more about how they fit in, what others think of them, and how they see themselves. Jennifer, who has coached for many seasons, talks about helping girls navigate friendships, peer pressure, negative self-talk, and the simple but powerful idea of changing “I can't do this” into “I can't do this yet.” Laney shares how her own experience with Girls on the Run helped her meet new people, build a love of running, and eventually return to the program as a junior coach. She now runs cross-country and track in high school, and talks about how running gives her a way to deal with stress and reset when life feels overwhelming. Dahlia also shares what she has enjoyed as a first-year participant, including making new friends and getting to be part of something that gives girls a chance to try running in a supportive way. The episode also looks ahead to the Girls on the Run 5K Celebration at DeSales University on Sunday, May 17. The event brings together girls, coaches, families, running buddies, mascots, music, and plenty of cheering as participants complete the season together. Girls on the Run Lehigh Valley & Pocono serves communities across the region and is open to girls of all abilities. The organization also emphasizes that financial need should not stop a girl from participating, with scholarships and support available for families. Early seven weeks in and a weakness is appearing. My feet are starting to get to me everyday, with my boots clearly too small and my toes all getting bruised as a result. I hope to be able to resolve the issue with a new pair of size 15s by Trail Days, next week. My days are getting into the 16 mile realm, with two consecutive days at that mark. Mighty Blue On The Appalachian Trail: The Ultimate Mid-Life Crisis
These last three days started with the vast, glittering openness of the balds in the Roan Highlands, then sent me back into the forest for a night camping by myself and a new hostel discovery. This is such a diverse trail. Also, I was lucky enough to run into Uncle Fuzzy and Nono, each a new character to discover and I enjoyed their company. I'm using Polarsteps to record my AT thru-hike this year. Episode 180: Two steps forward, one step back by Riverpod
Paul said to the Ephesian elders: "You know how I lived when I was with you." That statement only works if you've actually spent real time together. Over three years, they had come to know him as a servant, a teacher, an evangelist, and a sacrificer. And he knew them just as deeply. That kind of mutual knowledge is what made their farewell so emotionally raw. It's also what makes real community possible. But you'll never get there if your involvement is limited to darting in five minutes before church and heading straight for the car when the final song is over. Here's the challenge: stay fifteen extra minutes this weekend. Introduce yourself to someone you don't know. Get into a small group. Grab coffee with someone this week. Just one step. Because the eternal relationships God designed us for don't happen by accident.Pursuing God with Gene Appel is designed to help you pursue God, build community, and unleash compassion. Grounded in Scripture and shaped by Eastside's conviction that God's grace is for everyone, each episode invites you to discover God's presence and activity in your life.

A local program in Darwin is helping refugees and new migrants connect with their community, while building life-long friendships. The walking group may be simple, but organisers say at a time when more people are facing conflict and displacement, the initiative provides a welcome escape.

Miraculously, the weather continues to cooperate as yet another four days pass without a minute walking in the rain! I'm in the Roan Highlands and coping well with both uphills and downhills; long may my body cooperate on this trail. This week, I also managed to talk with Carl, or Fresh, who experienced some of the serendipity on the trail to find his hiking partner. If you're interested in learning more about Carl, check out his website at wherethehelliscarl.com. Also this week, we meet a guy I've been looking to interview for some weeks since I met him. I'm starting to manage aspects of my hike in a way I hadn't done so before now. Everything seems to have its own place, and each thing that arises during the day is another piece of the hike to be managed. My pace is starting to increase, as is my mileage. I'm also being reintroduced the wonders of the South; the balds. At the same time, I'm beginning to see startling evidence of the destruction wrought by Helene two years ago. It is staggering to see. One of the topics that I have been coming back to again again this year is trying to find ways to make it easier for you to start a round of tapping because once you start it is much easier to stick with it. This week in the podcast I share with you one of my favorite and simplest tapping techniques which is a "one step tapping process". When I am teaching people how to tap this is what I teach them right after I teach wordless tapping. But don't let the simplicity of the approach fool you. Even though it is straight forward it is powerful. So much so when I am giving my clients recommendations on how to tap between sessions this is my number one go to recommendation. Send us Fan MailThis week, we're tackling one of the scariest AI scams happening right now: voice cloning. Criminals are using AI to copy someone's voice from just a few seconds of audio, a TikTok, a voicemail, a birthday video, and then calling their family pretending to be them. The calls sound real. The panic is real. And families across the country are losing money to it.But there's a dead-simple way to protect your family. One step. We break it all down. How AI voice cloning works: and why it only needs about 3 seconds of audio Where scammers find your voice: social media posts, voicemails, school event videosHow the scam plays out: fake emergency calls to parents and grandparentsThe family code word: a simple, private word or phrase that stops the scam coldWhat else you can do: calling back on saved numbers, being thoughtful about what you postWhy you should tell your grandparents: they're the #1 targetThe One Step: Set Up a Family Code WordPick a secret word or phrase that only your family knows. Into month two with the miles increasing, I'm truly living in the woods now. Life seems to have become more feral, and the simplicity of my life agrees with my temperament right now. One Step From Jesus is for the moment when you know Jesus is inviting you forward—but the next step feels inconvenient, uncertain, or even unreasonable. In Luke 5, Peter had every reason to say no. He was tired, frustrated, and done for the day. But one small step of obedience opened the door to an encounter that changed his life forever. The same is true for you.Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs in your faith are only one step from Jesus—one decision to trust, one act of obedience, one uncomfortable yes. You may not be able to predict what hangs in the balance of that step, but your willingness to trust Him can become the turning point in your story. You'll discover:Why Jesus often meets you in ordinary, everyday momentsHow one simple act of obedience can deepen your faithWhat Peter's story teaches about trust when life feels uncertainWhy your next step may matter more than you thinkHow God's faithfulness meets your willingness to moveThis message is for anyone who has been hesitating on a next step with Jesus. Maybe it's forgiveness, asking honest questions, changing priorities, trusting Him with your relationships, or finally surrendering an area of your life you've kept closed off. What feels like a small step today may be the beginning of something far bigger than you can see. Because when your faith takes one step toward Jesus, His faithfulness meets you there in ways you never expected.

The Smokies are all but done, with glorious weather all the way with just one day to go. I think I was more concerned about them than I should have been, but it has been a pure pleasure to be hiking above the clouds at 5-6,000 feet all day long. This recap covers last Wednesday thru Saturday, when I navigated the perils of Newfound Gap, needing to get to Gatlinburg, yet stay in Cherokee. Happily it all worked out. Along the way, I chatted with a ridge runner, Houdini, who shared a few tips with me. It's been a great four days. I'm using Polarsteps to record my AT thru-hike this year. Into the Smokies this week for what feels like the end of the beginning. Cell service has been spotty at best, so getting this done a few hours late seems like a win! Before Micah can go to the library, he has to put his coat and shoes on…but that job seems very large. Narrator: Male Story Begins: 4:10 One Step at a Time Excerpt: As Micah ran a finger over the picture on the cover, he heard his mom's voice from the kitchen: “Micah, time to put on your shoes and coat!” Micah looked toward the front door. His little shoes were waiting on the mat, and his coat was hanging on a hook nearby. They were both right where he could see them, ready for him to put them on. Micah knew how to do these things. Now that he was getting older, he was learning to do more things by himself without his mom's help. Sometimes that felt exciting. Today, it did not. The three days from NOC to Fontana Dam were my toughest section so far. I made it, but the difficulty shook my confidence a bit. The walk down into NOC was a totally different story, for one specific reason, which you'll learn today. Along the way, I met more great people and they shared their stories with me, including Sue Powell (Sweet Tears) and Henry Southall (Hot Tang). With the Smokies next, this is going to be a another important week. I'm using Polarsteps to record my AT thru-hike this year. Into the third week on trail and my first zero day, spent in Franklin, NC. The weather remains atypically unusual, with sun and great hiking conditions leading us on. this week I spoke with Fancy, from Fancy's Place, as well as Chica and Sunsets with their hiking experience and super Airbnb. I was unable to get a photo of Fancy, but here is one with me and Chica and Sunsets. I'm using Polarsteps to record my AT thru-hike this year. Mighty Blue On The Appalachian Trail: The Ultimate Mid-Life Crisis
Nearly two weeks in and I feel I'm hiking stronger than ever. These past four days were testing but I think I came through most of the tests. the feeling of community out here, in these early stages, has been something I was hoping for, yet those hopes have been exceeded every day. Along the way, I've met and spoken with loads of fellow hikers, hostel owners, day hikers and so on. Each encounter has provided me with something new to think of and memories to cherish. This week, I was lucky enough to catch a few words with Husband and wife duo, Stan and Jolene, or Stanimal and Dolly, as well as Mike, or Hang 'em.
