Motherhood from four worldwide perspectives, but we discuss two common lessons: 1) Our high expectations are often very different from our reality and 2) Living the lessons we want to teach our children is better than just telling them. Let us know your motherhood lessons learned!
Although these women are from very different countries and circumstances, Elisabetta, Venecia, Anne Louise, and Valentina all have similar wisdom and love to share. Listening to this episode you will feel motivated, loved, and inspired to know yourself—your weaknesses and strengths—and to love yourself.
Valentina and her husband Nicolas are successful entrepreneurs. They decided to chase a dream, so they sold their lucrative wine business, cars, possessions, and now live in a Camper Van with their three children and travel Europe. If you are interested in love at first sight, service from strangers, minimalism, living your dreams, parenting by example, travel, and true success (not in materialism, but in service and love), you will love this episode!
Anne Louise Littlejohn grew up in Luxembourg, but wanted to know what her native Denmark was like. She went to University there, but never felt truly at home. Anne Louise decides to move back to Luxembourg and began her work as a biomedical engineer only to find that she loathed the work! Bravely, she hung up her lab coat and became a “personal connection junkie.” Now as a certified health coach and mother of two, she helps her clients and family learn how to shape their lives and live to their fullest potential. Woman, love yourself!
Venecia is a fierce, confident, and beautiful woman! She tells us about her origins from the Ivory Coast, Brooklyn, NY, and Kansas City, Kansas. Hardship could not keep her down. She met her husband Jake and became an Army Wife (Military). But she wanted to have something to call her own; thus shortly after becoming a mom, she joined the United States Air Force. Her experience was challenging, but made her stronger. Now she’s a Personal Trainer who loves transforming clients from the inside out. She’s vivacious and fun—you won’t want to miss this episode!
Let’s travel together to my current home in Luxembourg where I have the privilege of meeting accomplished, brave foreign women. The cheese may be stinky, but the conversations are lovely.
Welcome to our very first episode of Her Story: Conversations with International Women. My conversation with Elisabetta left me feeling inspired. She spoke about her love of Anglo-Saxon culture and the differences living in London versus living in Rome. She also spoke on teaching, OCD, and mindfulness.
