This week on Keebcast we decided to talk about some topics that all of us feel very passionate about. Resellers are inevitable in a market where exclusivity and limited quantities exist. Our hope is that we can educate people on how flipping is ultimately taking away from those who would have purchased the product at retail cost. We also talk about fake products within the industry in hopes that people understand that when they purchase fake keycap sets or even fake artisan keycaps, they are truly hurting the designer of the set at the end of the day. In this episode, we are joined by Ashkeebs (www.ashkeebs.com)! Ash is a vendor based in Canada that got his start by offering switch lubing as a service. Fast forward to today and Ashkeebs is recognized as one of the most trusted vendors in NA. In this episode, we sat down with the legendary Wilba (wilba.tech). Wilba has been apart of the mech community for many years and has been a driving force within the industry itself. We were able to talk about the Rama Foundry Thermal and the progression of the project. We also had a great conversation about "sound tests" and just how sound is perceived within the hobby. Wilba gave us a lot of insight and really allowed us to explore some new topics with the live chat. The time has come. After a few months of people in Twitch chat and in our DMs asking "Taeha on Keebcast when?" we finally pulled it off. Nathan (TaehaTypes) is a keyboard streamer and internet personality that really opened the doors of the mech scene to quite a few people who call this community home now. Over the past couple of years, Nathan has had incredible success with his content on both Twitch and YouTube. The infamous "Fjell with lubed Holy Pandas Typing Sounds" took the internet by storm and many people blame this video for the recent hole in their wallets. Taeha Truly broke the internet with "The Making of Tfue's $3500 Custom Luxury Mechanical Keyboard". A video that many people say opened up the doors to this community and ushered in a new wave of keyboard enthusiasts. This week we were privileged to talk with ThereminGoat (www.theremingoat.com). ThereminGoat currently holds the world's largest collection of mechanical switches, 800+ different kinds. This week we were honored to talk to the genius himself, Yiancar (yiancar-designs.com). Yiancar is most well known for his PCB designs within the mech community. From the NK65 to the Gingham, Yiancar has continuously driven the scene forward with his innovative products and solutions. Within this episode, we spend quite a bit of time talking about hobbies themselves as Yiancar takes Ragan through the process of making the perfect cup of coffee (apologies in advance to audio listeners if this portion is kinda confusing). Hey there! My name is Chase Gant (@chasedotgg) and I have been getting really into the hobby of custom made keyboards and all that surrounds them. This is a hobby that has proven difficult to get started in, passed buying a gaming-style keyboard with mechanical switches. To ease the pain of initiation into the hobby, I have partnered up with Alexotos (@alexotos on Instagram and @otosalex on Twitter), a master of photography and just what looks visibly appealing, who in the past 6 months has really started to establish himself as one of the great rising stars in the mech community. I also have the pleasure of working with Ragan from SpaceCables.net (@spacecables on Instagram and @Space_Cables on Twitter). Ragan has one of the fastest-growing custom cable companies within the industry and wants to share his perspectives as someone who is also fairly new to the community.
