Well Star Wars fans can continue to argue, because Kathleen Kennedy stepping down certainly wont stop them. But something to stop to listen to, is George RR Martin telling all to the Hollywood Reporter. Plus, Fallout Season 2 is not falling behind season 1, people just don't remember how TV works. Ubisoft decided to lay a big one on the gaming industry by cancelling another Prince of Persia game, and Netflix wants to keep WB movies on the big screen if the merger goes through. That and more on this weeks episode.
We're back to start the year with a very special live interview with Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan, which we taped in front of a terrific audience at Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas during CES. At this year's show, Razer made headlines for something it calls Project Ava, an AI companion that has a physical presence in the real world, as an anime hologram that sits in a jar on your desk. It's powered by, you guessed it, Elon Musk's Grok. There are a whole lot of choices bundled up in all of that, as well as Razer's decision to go all-in on AI at a moment when the gaming community is outright rejecting it. So Min and I really got into it. I think you'll have a lot to think about with this one. For decades, brand management was about control. You policed the logo. You enforced the guidelines. It was, as Lee Phenner puts it, "martial law".But in a world of infinite channels and user-generated content, rigidity is a weakness. If your brand cannot flex, it breaks. In this episode, Lee Phenner (formerly of Fitch and Hill Holliday) argues that modern brands need a soul, not just a style guide. The Evidence:The Pivot: Why we are moving from "martial law" to "consistency with flexibility".The Origin Story: How a search for "what eats mice" created the global gaming brand Razer. The AI Reality: Why "garbage in, garbage out" is the baseline. To win, you need "gold in, gold out".Connect with Lee.Text us what you think about this episode!
It's an all new That Real Blind Tech Show with Allison, Brian, David, and Jeanine. We kick the year off with yet another show that goes off the rails fairly often. Boy would we have gotten canceled if we left the outakes in! We kick the show off discussing the worst houseguest or squatter of all time! We then discuss the six personality traits people who are cool have globally. We then play and discuss a clip from WFAN about Stevie Wonder. It's great to learn that luxury goods are now made as crappy as everything else. We discuss the state of products with a focus on the quality of the Meta Glasses. Have you ever wanted to turn your iPhone in to a Blackberry? Well now you can with the Clicks Power keyboard. The new horror film A24 turns podcasts in to the new Nightmare on Elm Street. Did you know there is such a thing as gifted dogs? We then dive in to our annual CES coverage, starting out discussing what else, but Smart Glasses. The first pair we discuss is the latest coming from Rokid. And a lot of us are interested in the Rocked Glasses, but not the Lumen Glasses out of Romania that are specifically designed for the blind. We do not give a great review of the Lumen Glasses, trust me, you will want to hear it. So if the Lumen Glasses are not for you, how about a pair of Smart glasses with Pet Translation? Razer is developing a pair of Smart Headphones with cameras. A blind developer has developed a haptic wristband that will decode facial expressions. Because most of us are Apple users, we discuss the best Mac and iOS accessories announced at CES. And then it is finally time to discuss the strangers weirdest things coming out of CES this year. We then discuss the WTF robots that were announced at CES. And it's more of Watcha Streaming, Watcha Reading. And you will want to stay to the very end to hear about the lawsuit that is currently taking place. To contact That Real Blind Tech Show, you can email us at ThatRealBlindTechShow@gmail.com, join our Facebook Group That Real Blind Tech Show, join us on the Twitter @BlindTechShow , or leave us an old school phone message at 929-367-1005.
Paramount needs to give up on Warner Bros, they ain't letting you buy them. CES 2026 is in full swing and with it both vaporware and the future of tech. Ubisoft pulls a bad move and closes a studio that just unionized. Stranger Things ended on a high note, despite what the internet thinks. Plus everything Nick's is looking forward to in 2026.

Pre-Show: Trouble in Razer paradise
Reuniting after more than a decade since their days in This Week in Asia Podcast from 2009, Michael Smith Jr., co-host of The Generalist podcast, and Daniel Cerventus Lim, semi-retired entrepreneur and community builder in Malaysia, join us for a candid assessment of Southeast Asia's tech ecosystem evolution. In this raw conversation, Michael offers his unflinching perspective on what he calls the 'broken windows era' of Southeast Asian tech, arguing that recent alleged fraud cases like E-Fishery and Tanihub require serious consequences to restore investor confidence, while questioning whether the region was ever correctly modelled for Silicon Valley-style outcomes. Daniel shares his pivot from startup founder to search fund advocate, explaining his bullish view on acquiring profitable traditional businesses and reflects on whether the region's potential was genuinely unrealized or simply impossible to achieve. Together, they explore the shift from venture-backed unicorn dreams to bootstrap realities, debate work ethic of Southeast Asia founders in comparison with Chinese and Indian founders, and discuss why the future of Southeast Asian tech may lie in smaller, profitable exits rather than the massive IPOs once envisioned. "I think wealth creation here is very SME-focused." - Daniel Cerventus Lim "Basically whether, it's SME or startup, to me now it's just: can you build a profitable business?" - Bernard Leong "I have this philosophy that I think people don't agree with me, but we're in a broken Windows era of Southeast Asia and the only way in my opinion, the windows get fixed is if some of these people are behind bars." - Michael Smith Jr. Episode Highlights: [00:00] Quote of the Day by Daniel Cerventus, Bernard Leong & Michael Smith JR [00:59] Introduction: Daniel Cerventus and Michael Smith Jr. from the Generalists Podcast [06:00] Multiple alleged frauds in Southeast Asia: E-Fishery, Tanihub [09:57] Southeast Asia in "broken windows era" [11:26] Only exits from seed to Series A [11:47] B rounds virtually gone, A rounds endangered.
