Photos of nebulas as observed from Earth and coloured based on our perceptions, are impressive. Music is a collection of sounds arranged and layered on top of each other into a harmonic cohesion. During composition if a sound is noticed to be significantly out of tune, it is immediately corrected. Layering, or bedding, is the most obvious feature of sedimentary rocks. Sedimentary rocks are formed particle by particle and bed by bed, and the layers are piled one on top of the other. Layers is the separation of different elements as part of a whole. A layer can be compared to a transparency on which imaging effects are applied and placed over or under an image.
