I'm your host Mason Vera Paine and in today's episode we will be featuring music from Stelios Vassiloudis, Will Taylor, Paluma, Mason Talbot, Vinyl's From The Past and Music News. Stelios Vassiloudis: Start - 0:16 and End – 6:53From Athens, Greece comes Stelios Vassiloudis, a DJ and Producer with classical training. His educational path led him to pursue an acoustical engineering degree followed by a master's in composition and arrangement. Stelios diverse and strong musical background has allowed him to earn not only a loyal fan base but secure collaborations with renowned labels like Bedrock, Poker Flat, Ovum, and Constant sound. For the latest on Stelios and his upcoming projects visit: Steliosvassiloudis.com; that's S-T-E-L-I-O-S-V-A-S-S-I-L-O-U-D-I-S DOT COM Will Taylor: Start – 6:54 and End – 14:20DJ and Producer, Will Taylor is one of the leading names in the UK Tech House scene. His signature sound has been instrumental in setting the trends within the genre. Take a listen to his latest track “Famous”. “Famous” is out now via North of Neptune records and it's available on all streaming platforms. Since the start of his career, Will has been driven by a strong work ethic and desire to make unique music. This concept has opened the door to multiple opportunities like multi-summer residency at Amnesia Ibiza and club shows at Studio 338, Tobacco Dock, Motion Bristol and Soho Garden Dubai. For the latest on Will's upcoming appearances and projects visit: Instagram.com/willtayloruk; that's Instagram.com/W-I-L-L-T-A-Y-L-O-R-U-K Vinyl's From The Past: 14:22 to 25:06I am going to take a brief break from Vinyl's From The Past. In this limited run series, I will be exploring the pioneers that have shaped and influenced the EDM we have today. In this episode I will be featuring “Underworld”. “Underworld” was formed in 1987 and consisted of Karl Hyde and Rick Smith. As a duo they created synthpop music. However in 1990 the group became a trio and add Darren Emerson. At this point they went from synthpop to progressive house and techno. In 1996 they had their biggest mainstream hit “Born Slippy.Nuxx”, which was on the “Trainspotting” soundtrack. Take a listen here. “Born Slippy.Nuxx” captured the emotional and human element of the characters in “Trainspotting”. The use of vocals in EDM was new at the time because EDM tracks were largely instrumental. In addition, this track was a fusion and trance with its driving, repetitive. synth beats. This fusion blurred the lines with the genres. All of these things combined assisted with the evolution of EDM. That's it for this week's Vinyl's from the past; now let's get back to more music. Paluma: Start – 25:07 and End – 31:53Our next artist, Paluma is a DJ and Producer from Australia that specializes in minimal music and deep house. For more than a decade, Paluma has been entertaining audiences with his live performances in Australia. 2020, marked the beginning of his journey as a producer and saw the release of his debut produced track "Rock The Boat". Paluma is also known for his reworking of popular songs like Fergie's "London Bridge". He is back with his latest rework of Sean Paul's 2000 hit “Temperature”; take a listen to it here.

Staggering these, er, staggering Decade EP releases to give you ample time to digest fully the magnitude of the creativity so far felt like the right thing to do, but resting on our laurels for too long is just not in our DNA, so here we go again, comrades. Here are tracks 9-12 in Selador's relentless charge to dominate this thing we call clubland through 2023. 4 more collaborations, 8 more artists, but the number of calories lost dancing to these beauties, the number of dancefloors that will erupt as they ooze out of speaker stacks worldwide – well, your guess is as good as ours! So without any further ado, let us introduce you to the extended family members at the controls for Volume 3. Hannes Bieger x Luke Brancaccio x Gai Barone: ‘Reflections Like a long-lost love child of ‘French Kiss'and ‘Sacred Cycles', our titanic trio have created a hypnotic masterpiece that immediately takes up welcome residence in the deepest recesses of your bonce, before washing over you like the warmest of sonic seas. Just Her x Smash TV: ‘All I See is Us' Two artists who have been with us since back in the proverbial day, team up for bass-busting beast where whipcracking percussion underpins a plethora of roof-raising riffage. Endlessly energising electronica for the ages worthy of the alliteration. Darkside Vinyl x Rancido: ‘Omega' Nurse, my pills! This is getting crazy, as another Selador stalwart, the man like Darksidevinyl, teams up with label debutant Rancido for this high-octane slice of melodic afro jackery-pokery that stomps like a herd of thirsty wildebeest spotting a desert oasis. Humungous. Stelios Vassiloudis x Just Her: ‘Weightless' Guess who's back, back again? Yep, after a quick half marathon between studio sessions, Just Her joins forces with another long-time label friend, the inimitable Stelios Vassiloudis, for a unique slice of rulebook-trashing, quirky organic techno with Claire's wondrous vocal to the fore. Heavenly. Soak ‘em up party people. Three is the magic number. Team Selador x https://www.beatport.com/release/selador-decade-ep-3/4110381

The transatlantic Athens-San Francisco-The Hague connection brings us today's premiere. Federsen's remix of 'Off Grid,' the track by Athens' stalwart Stelios Vassiloudis. The remix by a San Fran veteran is a deep, hazy journey with classic dub chords, full of little tweaks that keep things changing constantly. 'Off Grid (Federsen dub mix)' is an excellent track for warm-up sets and an ideal layering partner in trippy minimal sets. The remix is part of 'Deadpan' EP, set for release on September 22, via The Hague-based spclnch. This will be the label's jubilee 50th release. https://soundcloud.com/stelios-vassiloudis https://soundcloud.com/federsen https://soundcloud.com/spclnch www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_itsdelayed_ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed

Does Putin's invasion mark the end of the Fossil Fuel Era? In this week's episode we look at how the Russian invasion in Ukraine and subsequent energy crises are impacting energy deals between developed and developing countries ahead of COP27. We also subject our guest, Kingsmill Bond of RMI, to a round of Paul's new painfully-condescending evil oil baron persona as we put his optimistic assertions on the green energy transition to the test. Welcome to Showcasing House Music DJ Mixes by dattrax!! In an ideal world I'd love to pump out a mix a week, and much respect to the DJs that regularly pump out house mixes. Lots of discipline and love displayed there. Thank you to all the HOUSE DJS out there for sharing with people your hard work finding the gems, and piecing together something that can be enjoyed with multiple listens and shared with like-minded friends. Now with the internet- there's too much choice and it's so easy to share one's vision of house music with others. So I wanted to enjoy, learn and be inspired by my fellow Brothers and Sisters in HOUSE in our beloved city of Toronto.IT'S NEVER BEEN THIS GOOD FOR HOUSE MUSIC!!Toronto is a city brimming with underground house music fiends for over 20yrs because of so many great DJs paving the way and making people fall in love with this music, DJs that have influenced my DJ partner and best friend, Jim and I through many many great memories and tons of record hunting... back to influences: Kevin Williams, Mark & Aki, Peter, Tyrone & Shams (PTS), Dave Campbell, Jason Palma, Dino & Terry, Noel Nanton, Nick Holder, Patrick "D-Nice", Eric Ling and many more. More recently Jason B., Gene King & Jason Hodges. Some of our Outside-of-Toronto house dj or producer influences have been (that first come to mind): Little Louie Vega and Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez (MAW), Derrick Carter, Wally Calleiro, Phonique, Luke Solomon and Justin Harris (MFF), Roger Sanchez, John Tejada, Alland Byallo, Stas Shiprinksi, Lee Kalts, Soul Clap, Greenskeepers, Said Chaara, Matthew Dear, Chuck Love, Chuck Daniel, DJ Sneak, Cevin Fisher, Rob Mello, Dub Taylor, Steve Lawler, Danny Tenaglia, Doc Martin, Frankie Knuckles, Fingers Inc., etc., etc., etc. and then some...With every track bought, every mix made, and every gig played we pay tribute to all the house producers and house DJs that have impacted us over the years and to all the house promoters that gave us all those magical nights and even the not so great nights to learn what we didn't like. We are very grateful of all these experiences and all the wonderful people we've met over the years. Afterall, are we not the sum total of all we've every experienced and the result of every day to day decision?---------------Reach out to us and comment if you like our mixes. Just Google 'dattrax' and you'll find all places online that we've been a part of. Открывает майский эпизод колумбийский музыкант Jonnas B со свежайшим треком A New Day, вышедший буквально на днях на Dreamers Фернандо Феррейры. Еще одна работа Rainy Sunset от вышеупомянутого Jonnas B с его новой A New Day EP не оставила меня равнодушным и я с большим удовольствием дарю этот трек вам. Майский TRACK OF THE MONTH у меня вышеупомянутый Signs от Yellowknife & Paul Piper, только лишь в потрясном ремиксе от банды Michael & Levan и Stiven Rivic. В общем Have A Breaks, дорогие друзья! Dreamer. In November 2020, much loved Australian DJ Phil K sadly passed away. For some three decades the Melbourne-based leading light had been not only a pivotal player on the Australian scene, but also an internationally respected DJ, producer and technical trailblazer. In amongst an astonishing (and global) outpouring of love on social media, Seladors Dave Seaman, a close friend since his first trip to Oz in 1993, wrote: Phil was a shining light to us all. He told it as he saw it, but always with words of inspiration and encouragement. He had time for everyone, generous to a fault and a joy to be around. His enthusiasm, forward-thinking outlook and thirst for knowledge was infectious. He had an uncanny knack of making you feel better about life just by spending time in his company. Phil & Daves mutual friend and pioneering Greek electronic producer Stelios Vassiloudis was moved to create a stunning new track in Phils memory. Gone to Heaven is a hugely evocative, moving track, 11 minutes + of blissful electronic ambience. This fitting tribute is scheduled for release on what would have been Phils 52nd birthday, May 6th. Stels full length mix will lead the package, with the producer saying: Theres no possible way a mere piece of music can do justice to Phils legacy and influence or even come close to expressing how his untimely passing has affected us all. Gone to Heaven was actually inspired by (what was to be) our last meeting in Melbourne on a perfect spring evening: great food followed by drinks and then a long drive around town listening to an impeccable selection of tunes selected by the man himself. A memory Ill treasure forever. There are, of course, remixes designed to hit the dancefloors that Phil was so adept at rocking. These come firstly and fittingly from Phils long time fellow ambassadors for Australian club culture, Anthony Pappa and Jamie Stevens and secondly, from fellow Greek and another long time friend, John Dalagelis who all excel themselves with their own outstanding tributes. All proceeds from this release will be donated to two charities close to Phils heart.
