This week, we're pirouetting our way into Let's Get Physical (1983), a film that asks the age-old question: Can love, and a little extracurricular activity, heal all wounds? When a world-famous ballet dancer Carl (Paul Thomas) wrecks his car and his manhood after an ill-advised fling, his marriage to the elegant Maria (Hyapatia Lee) hits the rocks. But instead of wallowing in heartbreak, Lee takes matters into her own hands, both on and off the dance floor. What follows is a story that blends high drama and steamy romance, complete with cover of M.Js “Beat It” and a dreamlike fantasy sequence that's pure visual poetry. Bob Chinn directs with his usual finesse, crafting a film that feels like a soap opera from an alternate reality—one where pleasure is the cure for all ailments. So, is Let's Get Physical any good? We're lacing up our ballet slippers and diving into it all to find out.Don't forget to follow us: https://linktr.ee/BowchickawowwowTwitter: @bowchickawowpod @Goldie_goodhead @Vince_taint Instagram: @bowchickawowpodcastPatreon: Patreon.com/bowchickawowwow

Roland Leesker has been immersed in electronic music since the 80's, starting his career as a house DJ in Frankfurt and quickly becoming a resident at major clubs like Wild Pitch, XS, and Dorian Gray. Today, Leesker is best known for his affiliation with Get Physical Records, where for 15 years as Managing Director he's been at the heart of operations, helping shape and define its sounds and breaking new artists. From studying international finance and law in three countries to working high profile roles at Virgin Music and Ministry of Sound, Leesker carries the caliber of experience that sees him receive invitations to be a keynote speaker at international music summits like ADE. Recently, he took time away from tinkering in the background to release his debut album, ‘Searching for Peace'. Released on Get Physical, it's a love letter to house music in all its forms: "I thought it could be nice for a change to produce a few new tracks myself, focusing on what got me here in the first place: Music and the joy it brings, creating it.' On this mix, he expands on that with a selection filled with his favourite house tracks, or as he findly names them, ‘his sweetest, sweetest treasures'. Across 60 minutes, he showcase the genre's most enduring tracks and underground classics that feature the likes of Roy Ayers, Tevo Howard and Dj. T. @roland-leesker

Dave Seaman - Two By Two (Alican Remix) - Selador Support from Adriatique, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, DJ Harvey, Super-Flu, Jonathan Kaspar, Captain Mustache, Jamie Stevens, AFFKT, Bog, Damon Jee, Animal Trainer, Magit Cacoon, Joyce Muniz, Nicole Moudaber Oh lordee!!! As if Dave's ‘Two By Two' wasn't already humungous enough, hot on the heels of the barnstorming original comes the equally magnificent Alican remix. We said the vocal hook brought to mind Divine's seminal proto-houser ‘Native Love', and we suspect our guest may have felt the same, as there are definitely traces of the trademark early 80s Bobby O production style in this peak time workout. This sizzling slice of 21st century mesmeric electro-disco further showcases our man from Istanbul's wide-ranging talents, as displayed not only on his Selador outing ‘Montroze' las year, but also on recent releases for the likes of Innervisions, Kompakt and Get Physical. Like all the best remixes, it's the perfect wingman to the Original. Get it down ya! Team Selador – Double trouble!

About The Cases of Mystery Lane: Death is Listening - (Hallmark Mystery, 2024) Mike Rohl directed. With 63 directing credits, Rohl has directed several episodes of When Calls the Heart, two episodes of Signed, Sealed, Delivered, as well as the first installment of The Cases of Mystery Lane. This isn't his only movie in the fall 2024 lineup; Rohl directed the upcoming Falling Together also starring Paul Campbell. Joel Dovev & Margaux Froley are the husband/wife writing team behind The Cases of Mystery Lane: Death is Listening. Joel Dovev has just three writing credits: these two movies, as well as a short called Bruce. IMDb also lists he is a writer on a project in development, and all it says is “Untitled Ashley Williams Kimberley Sustad Project.” Also noteworthy, Dovev was an assistant producer on the recent Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard. Margaux Froley has six writing credits, including the Cases movies, a Lifetime movie called Let's Get Physical with Jenna Dewan, as well as an episode of a 2008 series called Privileged, which starred JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Lucy Hale, and Ashley Newbrough. Froley is also listed as a writer on the Ashley Williams/Kimberley Sustad project. Aimee Garcia plays Birdie. Garcia's TV credits include Dexter, Hulu's WOKE, Marvel's M.O.D.O.K., Rush Hour, Vegas, and The George Lopez Show. She also headlined a Netflix film called Christmas with You. This movie marks Garcia's second movie for Hallmark, and it was just announced that Garcia will join the third season of Criminal Minds: Evolution on Paramount+. Paul Campbell plays Alden. With Campbell's 54 acting credits, we last saw him in last year's Magic in Mistletoe. It's kind of wild that it's almost been a whole year since he's been in a Hallmark movie. However, he has been busy. He's got two more movies on Hallmark, including Falling Together, which airs this Saturday. He will also reprise his role as Stephan in Three Wiser Men and a Boy this holiday season. Matt Hamilton returns as Officer ‘Air Quotes' Newton. Hamilton has 62 acting credits, with three non-Hallmark projects in production. He was last seen in A World Record Christmas during last year's Countdown to Christmas. Fans in the GGH FB group are calling for Matt to step into a lead Hallmark role. Meghan Heffern plays Birdie's old friend Kristen. Heffern has 69 acting credits, with roles in Betty's Bad Luck in Love and Retreat to You. She will be seen next in Autumn at Apple Hill. Samantha Ferris plays podcaster Laurel St. James. With a whopping 92 acting credits, you might recognize Ferris from Hallmark faves like A Picture of Her, A Winning Team, When Calls the Heart, and Christmas Under the Stars. Lillian Doucet-Roche plays fellow crime podcaster Katie. She has 18 acting credits, with the last six projects being for Hallmark. She recently played Mia Cavendish in February's Paging Mr. Darcy. Brandi Alexander plays yogi Wintress. Brandi is no stranger to Hallmark. She has appeared in movies like Wedding Every Weekend, Darrow & Darrow, and Christmas on Cherry Lane. No news if she will reprise her role as Daisy in the rum...

In 2011, Lithuanian producers Donatello, Arnas D and Kastis Torrau entered a competition to remix Sasha's “Cut Me Down.” Their entry won and was released on Last Night On Earth. Currently, a YouTube upload of their wistful remix has amassed 17 million plays and 3,991 comments singing its praise. That's impressive numbers for any dance music genre. Since then, with a string of releases on notable labels like Get Physical and Renaissance, Donatello has become one of his country's most prolific producers. After an enforced break from the industry due to the pandemic, he's finally back focussing on music: “I hope to return to the studio this winter after a long break and create the works that have been in my head since the start of the pandemic.” And it's not a moment too soon. In an hour filled with depth and dynamics, the Lithuanian producer straddles an adventurous line between deep progressive and bouncey deep house. With tracks from Enamour, M.O.S., Dhany G, and Donatello himself, this mix is a timely reminder of what we've been missing during that enforced absence. @djdonatello
John packs about four episodes of stories into one podcast including completing the pontoon Gordie Howe hat-trick, getting his annual physical, and almost raw dogging an entire round of golf without seeing the cart girl.
