Chapter Three - The Visitation I left my boys with my ex-husband because I could not be around his extreme negativity toward me anymore. He is not that way with the children. It is just with me. He actually threatened to kill me, cut my body into little pieces, boil the meat, and then feed it to the dogs. “Then there would be no evidence,” he said. That was the last straw. I had to leave. Right now we are in a hotel room in Vegas, room number 333. It’s the best I can do right now for my daughters and me. At least we are safe and I am trying to build a new life for myself after years of abuse again. Honestly, the relationship soured me on the possibility of a real, lifelong love. I am startled awake very early the next morning. I see a shadowy presence looking over me from the foot of my bed. The alarm clock reads 2:00 am. Maybe I was just dreaming. I pinch myself. No, it is real! I close my eyes then the presence is gone. It appeared somewhere between my dreaming and awakened state.
